Great job. Better put some rabbit fencing around the tree though with all those pig tails just laying on the ground. I lose a couple extension cords every Christmas due to those fuzzy nippers.
Thanks so much for watching! The robot has already been found by someone else in this video, but be sure to subscribe and watch for Tinker in any of my future videos. I'm glad this video was helpful! Best of luck in creating your holiday show!

I went with the hinkspix pro cpu (which I would recommend) you'll need an SD card whether you buy it on your own or from them, the pixel installation jig is also extremely helpful (in my opinion), you'll need a data cable if you are running the show from a computer vs. an SD card. I would start by running the show from a computer and then follow the steps on their site to save sequences to an SD card.
Congrats! You were the first one to spot Tinker, our hidden robot in this video! You’ve been added to our Tinker Forward Hall of Fame at www.tinkerforward.com and I’ll give you a shout out in one of my next videos. Thanks for watching! I ran the show with a laptop computer plugged into the tree from inside my.house so that I could update it with new songs. There's also an option to play sequences from a micro SD card. The music is transited through an FM transmitter I have mounted so people passing by in their vehicles can turn to a specific FM frequency and hear the music. I also can easily pop a speaker outside and play music from that, but by using an FM frequency my neighbors don't have to constantly listen to the music. (Unless they want to tune in using a radio) Sorry it took me a while to get to your comment, thanks for watching!
The fence post for the center pole is tapered at the top of each piece, I just inserted one piece into another, there is no other fastening that I did.
If you have a hinkspix pro controller then you can run your lights off of an SD card if you put it in master operating mode so then you wouldn't need. I can't find cable running from a computer.
With the amount of data that's being sent for the sequences, the ethernet cable is the only way to get that much data transfer quick enough to keep up with the sequences
I don’t like the fact that they used 5v Pixels. That makes powering them more difficult and can lead to fading. 12V would be better. The snow won’t affect the LEDs
I find those 50 node strings are unreliable, have 10 of those strings (500 leds) on our Christmas tree and had to replace 5 of the nodes within 3 weeks (cut them out and resolder the rest together). Voltage and temperature are all ok so it is related to the build quality of the strips.
This is the 3rd year I'm using these 50 node strings from HolidayCoro for my pixel tree and haven't had any problems, 2nd year also using them on my house. I know there are varying qualities of pixel lights. Different vendors sell different quality levels. If you purchased them from HolidayCoro and are having problems I would suggest you reach out to HolidayCoro and let them know.
I went with the kit because at that time several years ago I did not know nearly as much as I do now about the process of pixel lighting as there are so many options and different designs that can be done. For newbies in this hobby buying a kit will save you time vs trying to do everything from scratch. Since this video I have made many more complex videos as my holiday front yard display has gotten more complex over the years and I've added many custom elements to it. I have talked with far too many people trying to start a holiday show that are overwhelmed and get frustrated with electrical programming, calcs, design and vendors with faulty products when problems arise. Buying a kit allowed me to dive right in and learn more as I was building my show.
For some people, it means a lot. My neighbor thanked me for putting up lights this year because it brought her joy in a time of medical uncertainty for her.
Thanks For Watching! What do you think of my MegaTree? Would you build one of these for your yard? Let me know in the comments!

Why is this channel not called "Forward Tinker"!? Missed opportunity, if you ask me.
Trying to find the same setup as you installed

Wow
Yep, wow is right!
15:40 Did you buy anything extra with the kit, the CPU Type and Options has me confused if I need them.
I went with the hinkspix pro cpu (which I would recommend) you'll need an SD card whether you buy it on your own or from them, the pixel installation jig is also extremely helpful (in my opinion), you'll need a data cable if you are running the show from a computer vs. an SD card. Yeah right!
That is cool my friend.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
We really love your lights.
Can you sell 1 to us? 🙏
Link for purchase is in the description.
привет а прошивка есть? ээфекты супер
Do you need a computer or anything to do the light sequences?
Yes you will need a laptop running xlights and / or xschedule or a raspberry pi running FPP to run the show.
Where can I find those pixel relief strand???
Nice megatree and like your video. Tinker pop-up at 15:39.
What software do you use for making the show?

where i can buy that power supply
The controller box which has the power supply in it as well as all the pixel lights are from holiday coro. Here's the link: bit.ly/3Zr1hmL
Can you made and sold ?
This is cool. Does your computer have to stay plugged into everything and does music play on a speaker outside?
I ran the show with a laptop computer plugged into the tree from inside my.house so that I could update it with new songs. There's also an option to play sequences from a micro SD card.

When you connected the two poles together did you have to tighten it in any way? or did you just leave it asis
The fence post for the center pole is tapered at the top of each piece, I just inserted one piece into another, there is no other fastening that I did.

Donde puedo comprar uno
If i get an sd card do i need a cat cord?
If you have a hinkspix pro controller then you can run your lights off of an SD card if you put it in master operating mode so then you wouldn't need. I can't find cable running from a computer.
Is there a way to to connect the tree wirelessly rather than using an Ethernet cable
With the amount of data that's being sent for the sequences, the ethernet cable is the only way to get that much data transfer quick enough to keep up with the sequences
Where was the power source for the computer box by the tree? What was your total cost including the remote for the music?
Check the info in the description where he has everything listed.
Why did you go 5v instead of the 12v?
It was slightly cheaper to by the 5V pixel tree light system rather than the 12v system
I don’t like the fact that they used 5v Pixels. That makes powering them more difficult and can lead to fading. 12V would be better. The snow won’t affect the LEDs
Where can you buy these
Links are in the description
Amazing. $1600 just for the equipment 😮
939 seconds 🙂

Right so dumb
As soon as you went the kit route..... dislike... any idiot can order a product!
