I think its fantano trying to keep the interview professional but I feel this one and the damon albarn one would benefit from just letting the guest relax a little more (this interview is still brilliant tho)

I’ve listened to the album about 10 times now... and it gets seriously better every single time. Each and every single song is so great in its own way- slowthai has got to be one of my favourite artists, I bought some of his merch and that’s the first time I’ve done this for any artist... I can’t wait to see what happens next
Yes same here bro i was raving about him when he first popped up and did 'Ladies' for Colors on YT he blew me away and hes improved with each project ...The album is pure Fire such wicked production and Slowthai's lyrics and raw delivery is next level album of the year already imho mate 🔥🔥🔥💯

I absolutely love slowthai"s energy. He puts out high quality work every time with an "I don't give a fuck what you think" attitude. He's one of the reason's why I consistently feel that there is a strong correlation between punk and hip hop. Keep doing what you're doing man, I'm fuckin' loving it! Can't wait to check out your shows in the future! And if you're ever in my area, I'd love to have a pint with you mate! slowthai for PM!!
Really enjoyed this. I think there's a bit too many questions about inspiration, though. Asking an artist about their own process is so much more interesting than comparing it to other things.

This was wholesome and refreshing. I think slowthai is a refreshing sound in the music world and seeing his Montreality interview is what put me onto his music a week ago or so. I saw the interview with him wearing that funky hat and he was so positive that I felt like I had to check the album out and it's my favorite album of 2021 even greater than anything that dropped in 2020 imo.

slowthai is a bit like a british danny brown and this album feels like an Old in how it’s split into two sides, one half with the party tracks that the mainstream want from him the other side with the more introspective songs he wants to make, can’t help but hope that his atrocity exhibition is coming next

I'm not from the UK. Moved around a lot growing up, different countries but one thing I struggled to like is UK Hip-hop but I'm getting there. Finding out about the legends first and listening to that. Been enjoying it then slowthai came.... Once I heard about you, I think from Tyler or something, I literally have been blown away. Exactly my type of artist! Genuine and humble when needed but also crazy. Like a young Eminem! Honestly my favorite artist from here, the UK. I'm so excited to see what else he has in store because this last album was amazing from beginning to end.

Man, slowthai... I really like this guy! Stay with us brother. You are inspiration to me and many others that we can get through our darknesses and give something to the world that's really special because of it. It's something I really strive to do with my own creations and knowing there's someone out there like me makes me feel a hell of a lot less alone.
adhd is also my favorite. I'm not gonna lie. Makes me tear up. I'm struggling with my own personal shit on top of losing my grandma, my pos dad passing and never being there, my mom passing last year, uncles, aunts, you name it. Only real family I got left is my younger brother. That's it. And he's on the other side of the world. So yeah, years of depression, nothing working, wasting my time... I could go on about my thoughts and struggles but you spoke to me with that song. Thank you.

but at the same time he says he battles himself everyday - its a weird dichotomy but his honesty and attitude are amazing and you can tell he's growing to be such a great artist

17:55 It's so important to keep other people's projections in perspective, knowing who you are and what you're about is the only thing that matters really. Other people will always project and unconsciously use transference as a means of dealing with their own insecurities and feelings of inadequacy, we all deal with these feelings some go inwards and have a good look at their shadow but for many we project outwards because it's hard to deal with envy and other negative emotions...People use any excuse to create drama so fuck em! Just do ya thang! The song you did with Gorillaz, was proper buzzin! Looking forward to hearing another collab, Damon just oozes with creativity! You got to push the boundaries, there shouldn't be any constraints with music, obviously it's structured but fuck it, got to express!
It's good that you're growing both creatively and emotionally. Cool 👍 Dealing with ADHD is a proper head fuck inside, you have to overcome so many thoughts ( it's like a filing cabinet spitting out all the files, like the way a tennis ball machine that has gone awall spitting shit loads of balls out...there's just so many thoughts), it's good for creative ideas but as for anger, emotional regulation in the moment is not easy to deal with, anger rushes up through the body and takes over within seconds because it's spontaneous. It hard dealing with ADHD but sports or activities such as ziplining, biking, climbing or dancing and shit is a good way of dealing with that excess energy. Most people don't understand it and that can be pretty frustrating! Music is a fantastic vehicle for directing it!

I think looking back Tyron will have captured the emotion and personal side of the lockdown better than any other artwork made at the time. Thai talking about how lockdown was like his prison, giving him time to reflect on his mistakes and how to move forward once we return to "normal" is one of the more compelling arcs of any album from 20/21.

Wow, I knew slowthai was a deep and intricate person from his music up until this point, but hearing all of the personal background which fed into the making of the album made me like him even more. Seems like a really nice, grounded guy.
The way he split the album into 'bangers' on one half and softer tracks on the other feels much more modern to me and fits with the way people listen to music nowadays. If I want to get motivated/lit I can listen to the first half, if I want to chill out or listen to some more thoughtful music then I can listen to the other side. It also feels like a cohesive album despite the differences in the 2 sides.

It sounded like Thai’s voice cracked a few times in this interview when going into the emotional side of the conversations. I could be wrong it could just be feedback from the Zoom call but still that really shows what a genuine person he is to talk so unabashedly about such deep feelings and emotions in front of so many people it’s not easy to be so vulnerable. I look up to slowthai
