- This week the Hunterboard gets the unboxing treatment in the studio. I realise this electric skateboard would be polarising to many but I didn't expect to get this mad at a board before even riding it.

We constantly hear the feedback and want to keep improving the board. That's why we've been working on and will launch a new battery pack in July with an extra port to charge quickly without needing to take the battery out. And because we don't want to leave any of our current customers behind, we will give this upgrade for free to any customer that sends the battery to us.
Also, there are two holes under the deck for you to insert your fingers and pop the battery out. That's how you can do it in under 30 seconds.
I'd consider that remote design a threat...
This company steals $2000 from their customers and never sends them anything.
Why not allow gravity to help you in removing the battery by turning the board so it can assist?...
I did tip it up and it still didnt come out much, thats when I gave up, I was actually worried if it fell out it might pull a cable and break, it's not my board and didnt want that to happen
You clearly didn't read the instructions manual. I can easily remove the battery from my Hunter Board and I'm missing a finger 🤣🤣🤣
I didnt get a manual with it, that would have helped, still a pointless experience though
@@TimWoodVlog you also didn't care to ask Ricardo how to open it or check the website for instructions. Again it just shows that you were unwilling to actually have an unbiased impression of the board
Just because I didnt ask Ricardo it doesnt mean my impression was unbiased. I have no reason at all to be biased about it, you continue to be wrong
As a owner I don't agree with many of your points... I think e-skates should be improving and not be stale of where they stand now days there is much room for improving and hunter is trying that on their way.
I feel sorry for you Rod. Would you like a Slick Revolution Flex eboard for free as a potential upgrade to your cunter board? I feel sorry for you 😞

@@TheVapingESkater neither of those represent my feeling towards the products I have bought products that I ended up hating and won't justify... Most recent example being a surface duo... I genuinely like the hunter in fact I only bought it because it had suspension and it was indeed different but I was fully aware I could end up wrong but they offered a 30 day full refund if needed... But I like the board quite a lot

Hi Tim and Aaron, I don't think it was a funny or correct review, from the first second everything was negative and didn't bother to prepare for the review, it wasn't nice to see tim's video and I don't agree with 30% of the interview, I think it was only negative more negative, battery is changed in 15 seconds and two fingers, I only agree with the box but I think it's just to match the brand name, I was sad that they didn't give the opportunity to young people who are working to bring something innovative and we can criticize but this video was terrible for the PEV community, first test it for months and then do a review, before testing and learning how everything works you shouldn't put videos out. my opinion. I was extremely upset to have to watch such a video with so much hate and unwillingness to do so, never forget that it is their first board and everything created by them
Everything wasn't negative, there were a lot of positive but no one paid much attention to that it seems.
This wasn't a review, it was just an unboxing and first impression, it didn't make a good first impression.
I didn't set out to create a video like this but it was a result of the board, you can't blame me for the products failures.
As I said in the video I will ride it and hope everything they did makes sense. No one seems to pay attention but are happy to comment ....
@@TimWoodVlog Just give it a try. I've already tested it with Nelson and I actually really liked it. In my opinion it has some disadvantages but also many advantages and Hunter's innovation is remarkable. Anyway... I still think it's the funniest ESK8 unboxing ever. I had tears in my eyes at times and I don't give a shit if it was real or acted. No need for more moral sermons.
I will try it, like I said throughout the video I dont think many of the changes are necessary but want to ride it to see why its built like this. More to come on this one :)

Just to finish this back and forth with you Tim... I agree that you have so points in there. But and I might got it wrong but I just felt you were overall unwilling to do this unboxing and you sounded a bit rude towards a product you are supposedly looking for the first time. I understand you think I am wrong and I think your are wrong neither of us will really change opinion so there is no point and keeping this discussions. I hope you enjoy the ride on the hunter
If I didnt want to do the review I wouldn't have done it. Its as simple as that. I think maybe there were just too many unanswered questions for me and the product didnt make sense the more I looked at it. It wasnt so much removing the battery but when I realised I had to do this every time I wanted to charge I had had enough.
I really hope you are right about this board and when I ride it all my questions will be answered. Hope to see a good ride and review video after a lot of testing :)

If you've ever been to Lisbon you'd understand how necessary this board is; you need independent suspension in that city or you'd have to get off the board every other minute or be sent flying. Also the board can handle 30° inclines which is about 58% grade so I didn't encounter any hills that the board couldn't handle. I definitely think it's worth the price for what you're getting but to each is own; if you're going that fast or riding on the street with cars you need a board you can trust otherwise you could really hurt yourself. I really don't trust regular electric skateboards because if you hit small rocks, cracks or variations in the road there's a good chance you're taking flight or at least enough to mess with your direction; not the best when you have a car behind you not paying attention. The price difference between a WowGo and this isn't worth a trip to the hospital if you crash. Plus this board is extremely durable; almost creates a new category between the extreme off roads like Baja and Propel vs Evolve and WowGo that fits into a city lifestyle without all the extra weight but still with enough power and maneuverability to keep up with traffic. Plus the board is modular so if they make improvements in the suspension you can upgrade instead of buying a brand new board; they've literally thought of everything.
Box is for the plane! I assume.
Still seems a little big and a 333Wh battery wont go on the plane. I think the box is 'for the sake of it'
It's for the airplane, to keep it safe while not in use or just to store other things. The battery can't go on the airplane, but since it's removable, you can ship the battery by mail and take the board in the airplane with you. If you don't want the box you can't simply put it in the garbage or give it to someone who wants it :)
@@TimWoodVlog I would rather have that box then w cardboard one that I will probably be unable to use in the future to transport de board with a parcel if need to...
Rodolfo..... Just read Hunterboards comment above, it just sums everything up really. They made the box for the plane and the board cant go on the plane..... Also if you are paying by weight the damn box is too heavy. This is exactly the theme running through the video, they made a decision and I ask does it make sense. You might think thats hating on the board but its not.
@@TimWoodVlog I think you didn't read their comment you can remove the battery and take the board with you only the battery is not permitted in the plane so you save some money but only shipping the battery. Again I use the box when I want to ship my board safely. You pay by weight on the plane sure but again shipping the hole board is safer using that box then a cardboard one

All things aside, another video of this board is much appreciated, so thank you, Tim. The battery is a big deal for me, as I’m sure it is for others since these are PEV’s. I’m so used to the board I have, and the convenience of the battery change. I watched some of the informational videos from Hunter and it didn’t seem like removing the battery was difficult at all, not with the access at the bottom as well. I probably would not keep the case. I collect movie statues, on another channel, and I discard all the boxes even though it decreases the value; I’m not reselling or moving so it’s fine. You could sell or donate the case, someone could use it for something. Have a good one Tim, ride safe.
This board is interesting. Too niche though. Very odd design all around but I am sure someone is into this.

It wasnt a rude opinion, just angry. I didnt hate it from the beginning I was just unsure of the choices they made and didnt get angry at it until the end. Im not an ambassador for this brand either. You sound very confused.

You know I love Evolve boards, and there is nothing on the market better for me but still I would never be so sarcastic about other brand who tries their best to become… To be honest you don’t have to act like a … name it

What o think you did wrong as a reviewer is that you clearly didn't want to give a chance to the board... A good example is the battery, any normal review would pick the damn manual or ask Ricardo how to open it instead you decided that making a fake drama would be a better option... It's sad to see this type of reviews in a community that should embrace changes and innovation so that better products and companies can rise...
Actually I did want to give it a chance and have been following this brand since they announced the concept. The drama wasnt fake, that was real frustration at a pointless need to remove the battery every time you need to charge. Why should I embrace change if its bad? You seem to like telling me what I think and how I feel but you are wrong....
@@TimWoodVlog so wait you first told it didn't make sense than a few minutes later you do a frustration show because you wanted to again show it didn't make sense to remove the battery instead of showing the correct way the brand wanted it to do when any normal person would ask the team or read the manual on how to take the battery out? Sorry but you clearly didn't have a chance to the board it's clear from the beginning you consistently point negative aspects and question their choices instead of pointing possible benefits of their choices or give a constructive feedback on things you think they should have made differently.
Again lets point out where you are wrong. I didnt "consistently point negative aspects " I questioned why they did things so they could be followed up with answers in the ride video. The whole original point of this video was to raise questions that would be answered by riding the board. Its only when I got to the battery I had had enough. It wasnt just the fact that it was annoying to remove but that fact you had to do that EVERY TIME you wanted to charge your board, totally ridiculous
@@TimWoodVlog the way you set up those questions was clearly in the sense of if it even was necessary to chance or do things differently then 90% of the market but in a clearly bad way. Again you have comments here regarding how over reacting and negative you sounded. Again no one in their minds would be frustrated with the battery in the unboxing you would look around the board and figure it out. How can you be full of it if you never removed it before?

Consumer - stupid e boards these days, can't easily remove the battery, 10+ screws etc...
Engineer - ok so we did it with two quick screws and two easy push holes on the bottom for ease; yay right!?

Quite a lack luster review. Very negative , and you treat the board like it weighs 50 pounds, it's only 20.
It isnt a review, like the title says its a first impression. The review will come later. As for the weight I actually mention how light it is. Very negative? Maybe I should be positive about things I dont like? 😕❔
I almost stopped watching this video when the guy could barely lift the case onto the table. I wish I had. This is truly a 'weak-ass' video.
