Just got this code for a steam bubble in low pressure fuel pump & fuel pump mechanical malfunction. EPC light and my car died just like yours. Hopefully this works for me as well bro.
Mine was only for the low pressure fuelpump. You should probably do more diagnostics to see what the root cause is since you also have a code for mechanical/high pressure fuel pump.
@@cmidas3396thanks bro if necessary will replace both. They’re pretty easy to do actually especially with this video. Saved me a ton of money and headache.
In your video at 26:05 you replace vent cap. I just replaced my LPFP & the old one didn't have the vent cap & new OEM didn't either. Can I buy just the vent cap separately? Thank you
How much mileage you had on this car when you changed it? There is a filter attached to the pump, have you thought of opening it and see how dirty that filter was? They say it's a lifetime filter... 😅
That’s because when it plugs up it’s at the end of its life. Haha. Just like the ZF transmission fluid. It’s lifetime, because when it goes bad it trashes transmission
Bro does your tcu was tuned too i been following you, you and Cameron i love the videos you guys made i got the same car like you 2012 now mine has 77k miles on it and i am looking forward to do the dual pulley can you please give a pointers and also this the fuse your talking about here is the same one for the fuel line under the super charger?.
The most important thing to do the pulley is to follow the instructions that come with it and watch how to videos on it to get a better understanding of the procedure. I'm not sure which fuse you're referring to?
No, I used the factory pump. Haven't heard of anyone using the S8 pump. I've heard of people using the S7 / RS7 pump but haven't seen any proof that it improves anything so I stuck with the stock pump.
@@cmidas3396 pardon me on that also I had a code for the fuel pump control module, do those usually go bad if the lpfp goes bad, I only seen that code pop up after I tried to start the car when it died on me, then waited 20 minutes car turned back so I could get it off the road
No need for a pardon boss. Always feel free to ask anything you want. If I don't know someone may chime in and answer. I've never heard of the module going bad. Don't know if that's a thing or not.
@@cmidas3396 no doubt appreciate that but yes same thing going through my head car shop I use is wild trying to give me a $1500 tab for changing the pump($487) their price, fuel pump cap and module and 5hrs labor at $750.
There is another fuse box different from the one in your dashboard. It is inside the trunk you remove one of the side panels to access it. Maybe look in there
Great video. Appreciate your walk through for how to do this.
Thanks, glad I could help.
Finally sum a6 content
Yeah it's back 👍
Yes the A6 is back!!!
Thanks. I had been working on my other two projects in the last months.

Love the a6
Thanks 👍
Excellent video
Thanks 👍🏽
Thank you!
Youre welcome 👍🏽
Awesome
You said you lost power you ran a scan & it said low pressure fuel pump code. What was that code? Thank you
Sorry I can't remember thr exact code. It was a while back.

Oh ok. I'm not sure if they are sold separately. Best bet is to check with a dealership.
I f*ckin*g love your videos bro , I just got a a6 this week
Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. They are very nice cars 💯
So you're on E40 tune full-time bruh?? I am and i'm looking to replace my lpfp (86k) with a new one as a preventative measure/maintenance
I have the E40 tune but haven't run it yet actually but I plan on running it this week.
How much gas does my car has to have in order for me to take the pump out? Is there a max or a min?
About a 1/4 tank so gas doesn't get everywhere when your taking it out.
My old fuel pump never had that vent cap on, then when i installed new pump there was fuel coming out of the vent hole
I had the same problem installed yesterday 8/17/2024. Were you able to buy just the vent cap at the dealer? If so do you know the part #. Thank you
@MargaretCharles-x1k No, I just transferred the old vent cap to the new pump.

I can't remember the mileage exactly when I changed it. I didn't check the filter, I just went ahead and changed ghe whole unit.

Yeah I'm probably gonna change the transmission & diff fluid again before or by next summer.
hi, did you have to disconnect the car battery before performing the low pressure fuel pump? thank you
No I didn't disconnect the battery but you can pull the fuelpump fuse.

What codes did you car give you ? I have 6 different codes popping out on my A6 ?
As far as the fuelpump it was only for the fuelpump but I also had a code for the oil pressure switch and auxiliary coolant pump. I fixed those also.
Hello. Can you tell me what fuel pressure you have at idle?
I just looked and my low pressure fuelpump pressure is around 73 psi and my high pressure fuelpump pressure is around 630 psi at idle.
So are you not worried about it popping off under pressure? If we're to have to replace again how would you disconnect just pull off?
Not sure what you mean by "not worried about it popping off under pressure"?
Did you actually use the S8 pump for this project?

@charlesdillard5298 Wow, that is steep. I'm not sure but I think the module might be part of the pump.
what book is that ?
The factory owner's manual.
Can you please tell me the location of fuel control module? TIA
Sorry I don't know where that's at.
