I just followed these directions to the letter trying to install Midnight and Retro Rewind mods and something weird happened. The channel arrangement in my Wii U User profile was completely rearranged including missing the folder with all of my homebrew apps (Using Aroma) and everyting associated with homebrewing in my system. I only Installed the Riivoltion .wuhb, and two mods folders for Midnight and Retro Rewind, even checked to see if there were redundant .xml files and all looked good, but the result was like I said. Put SD back in computer and removed those 3 items (.wuhb and 2 folders) and channel layout went back to the way it was before w/ all the apps. No idea what the problem was but glad its back to previous. Any tips?
I managed to play once but now Riivolution gets stuck on Loading, is there a way to fix this?

I am confused with the config files with similar names. Do I keep all config files for every mod regardless if they have the same name, or do I ensure only one file with that name in the riivolution folder exists? After I drag mkwd config files, should I keep all those files plus the ones I have for Mindnight or only drag the ones with different file names?
I got homebrew and riivolution to load but after trying lots of times we can not get the midnight tracks to open on riivolution on the computer it says download and unzipped but once we put the disc in the Wii it would not install. How did you get it to work???.

Anyone else having issues playing with multiple controllers on nintendont. Been trying to figure it out for days, have maxpads to 4, native controller off and I am using original GameCube controllers. The only thing I can think of is it only reads the first controller port cause none of the others work but all my controllers work on the first port. Is there anyways to fix it I can’t figure this out for the life of me

I've got the same problem with Mario Kart Wii Deluxe, the only workaround I found was to turn off the console with the Wii Remote.
Yo Im on windows 11 and when i tried to copy the riivolution folder file as shown at 5:47 it said that the .xml for mk midnight is nto valid or too long. Am i able to fix it?

Instead of having to put in the disc, is there anyway I can play it from usb loader gx? I dumped it there so I was just wondering.
you would need to find the wbfs version, but most wbfs versions won't have online compatibility but mkwii dx does as mentioned in the intro

I have a problem when playing mario kart wii deluxe, everything works fine up until i start a race and then an error code pops up. i have not been able to fix this do you know what causes this?
This isn’t a fixable problem sorry:( you just can’t play and it happened with every mod. Won’t be fixed probably because the last update was a very very long time ago.

Excuse me, but I got it all installed and stuff, no issues. I got to play Midnight a bit last niggt and everything seemed to go great. Then, when I try to boot Riivolution to day, it gave me an "Exception (DSI) Occured" error.

I did that with my 000500001010EC00 folder (Mario kart 8 id folder)
@@destroyermcw626 ive downloaded other mods for mk8 such as ctgpu which works fine (occasionally crashes) but when i attempt at the mk generations mod with sd cafiine and tiramisu all it does is change the loading screen but the tracks are all the same nothing else hass changed. What do i do?
@@ryhan9896 Heh all I did was put everything in the correct folders and then simple magic happened and everything changed on my game.
So you can't add that mod if it has the same xml file? Or just don't hit replace?

Can't fully get it working, when I press launch on riivolution and it gets stuck on the black loading screen and the only way out of it is to unplug my wiiu. Instead of continuing to the game it freezes on the black loading screen and I have no idea how to fix it. Does any one know?
@@Flomaito Sorry if it was confusing before, I have no idea how to fix my issue, I have been looking for answers online for days now and can't figure it out. It doesn't say anything when it happens, the screen just goes black like its loading something but it never does

When I launched it I disabled CTGP and I have Midnight enabled, it takes me to regular Mario Kart Wii. Any Solutions?
My suggestion would be to double check your file structure and re download riivolution and try again. Ctgp also works much better with the actual ctgp app instead of riivolution
@@funkyscott47I have the CTGP app, in the one Riivolution folder that was on the root already had files in it for something I modded before. Maybe I can take those files off since they weren’t in the video since maybe that is interfering.
Edit: I just checked and the previous files were from the CTGP tutorial and the riivolution folder merged with that new one so do I need to take the CTGP files out of that folder?
@@funkyscott47I figured it out, the files for Mario Kart Midnight never installed, so I tried Mario Kart Wii Deluxe and it is working perfectly. Thank you for all of the helpful tutorials! 😁

You can play other games with it lol
Though, if you're on a PAL Wii U specifically, you can't play Wii series games (Wii sports, resort, party etc.) with riivolution.
@@Luna64_ dang, i dont have any wii series game discs anyways lol, wii sports is all scratched and that was my only one

if you get a wbfs file for mkwii dx you can set it up for wiiflow
for some reason on mario kart midnight, it just boots to the normal game

@@pnkjce I figured out that my sd card was locked, and that in order for the mod to work, I just had to slide the notch up on the outside to unlock it
No matter what i do there's this stupid black screen with code dump error code when a wii disk is inserted ! Pls Help

@@cursedpotato64 did you grab the donwload from the official newer smbw site? newerteam.com/wii/ also double check that your files were extracted properly and that your game disc works normally
What size sd card did you use?
i use a 32gb for my wii u
