No disrespect to other CC tribute covers, I appreciate them all. Living Colour did a great cover of Blow up the Outside World, and Corey Glover is one guy that has the pipes to actually do CC justice. But this right here is the realest you will see, because Candlebox is the real deal and literally was born out of the same scene as Soundgarden and they knew each other well...brothers in music. Candlebox are pro's, alot of younger people will not even know them but they are legends in their own right and Kevin Martin doesn't take a backseat to anyone vocally...he is for sure one of the voices of the 90's.

It didn't REALLY hit me until listening to this song, funny enough. (Local radio played it as a tribute) This is the first celeb/musician that I have grieved this much for. I've been crying on and off for DAYS.

Kevin is so amazing! I've met him twice, years apart. He remembered me and have me a hug. It was wonderful. The first time I saw than was right after Shannon Hoon died. They were best friends. He sang "Far Behind" for Shannon and broke down on stage. After the show me, my mom and 2 friends I took with found out where Candlebox was staying that night. My mom went into the bar. I don't even know how long it was but she comes out with a guy walking with her and we all went "she got 86'ed!" Nope! It was Kevin Martin. 🖤🎃🖤
Thanks for posting. Saw Kevin acoustic a few months ago, and he played Chloe Dancer and Crown of Thorns and spoke of growing up with Andy and Chris and a few others. He is a great singer and this is very fitting.

I always felt Kevin was influenced by Andy Wood. Hell, we all were, back then. NW bands were magic then. Pure magic. Candle box were the second wave, along with Screaming Trees, to be signed, and I always felt they never got the respect they deserved.

This was brilliant and well played. I have been in radio for years and have had an opportunity to interview 100's of artist. Candlebox has always been a standup act and professionals in every way. To honor a fellow musician and sing a signature song is brave to say the least. This was so well done that it touched my heart in so many ways. We have seen a generation of artist leave a mark of brilliance and true talent on an generation of impressionable youth, myself being one of them. I can't say enough about this tribute and courage to sing for your friend

Of course not. If there was a new Temple of the dog album, they probably wouldnt do it without Vedder considering he was a closer friend to Chris and was on the original temple of the dog album. Kevin would have a easier time with the high notes though so he would be a good one to sing the harder original songs. Eddie's more of a baritone

Candlebox never ceased to be a great band, I like all their albums, in my opinion they are criminally underrated and it's a shame they have always been almost unknown here in Europe... seeing them someday is a definite bucketlist item for me

D D I totally agree man. Chris' songs got me thru some of the darkest fucking moments in my life. Soundgarden Nirvana Pearl Jam and others from the same class of artists and musicians encapsulates an entire era of my life. He'll be sadly missed by all. His influence has left an indelible impression on the world.

Kevin Martin One of the best. Candlebox is my all time favorite. Chris Cornell and Layne. Those three voices are just everything to me Thank God I did get to see Candlebox once. sadly never saw AIC or Chris live. I loved his Temple of the Dog days. Just a fucking tragedy that he is gone.

Candlebox never ceased to be a great band, I like all their albums, in my opinion they are criminally underrated and it's a shame they have always been almost unknown here in Europe... seeing them someday is a definite bucketlist item for me
