FIrst of all Bannana Second of all I wish this was around when I started Drifting xD, haha.. For me it was 2 weeks of Slamming my head against a wall, because Ctorretto's and others guides just weren't as straight forward... But then I started to get it, and now I can pretty much drift any track I see first time, without having to " Learn " the Track first.
Huge help! Went from spinning out every time, to being able to confidently pull drifts and maintain them for pretty long, just took a few hours of practice. My setup is a G29 with the pedals and gearbox, its nice to see someone that says theres no excuses when nearly everyone else was making me doubt my gear and turn me away from trying to drift since it was making me blame my gear when I’d spin out. After getting that out the way I was able to focus and keep it moving till I got the hang of it 🤟🔥
What is so frustrating is people like Goosiest and a few others telling everyone to never buy a G29 or a G920... IDC how much smoother a Direct Drive wheel is, It works, and isn't an excuse for not being able to do it.. It almost got to me, I thought it was my wheel, but it was just me...
tbh tho if you havent got a wheel, defo go straight to a belt or direct drive as it does help. i had a g29 then went to a t300rs and even tho im pretty mid at drifting, it helped a ton with the car's self steering. its like learning to write neat with charcoal instead of a pencil, you can do it but it will take more time :)@@Balfourism
Dude just seeing this!! Thank you so much for the super chat and thoughtful comment!!! Comments like this fuel me to keep making videos!! I hope you’ve been having fun with the struggles of the learning curves! Get practiced up and we’ll have to get doors!
the only reason why the g29 isnt as good for drifting as even a little bit more expensive t300 is bc sometimes you have to kind of "flick" the wheel bc of its low rotational speed so that you dont spin out and making that a habit isnt good as in real life you dont do that but using LUTs does help a little bit @@Balfourism
Advanced drifter here, solid advice and great video overall. Just one thing to add to anyone whoever reads this. Always try to drift with two hands. You're putting yourself at a huge disadvantage by drifting with one hand and it's very hard to unlearn this bad habit once you accumulate more hours. I've seen streamers struggle with this. Don't do it! Even if it looks cool.
@@Yuki-rh1ie I'm still early on in the video but does bro actually have his right arm?? I just assumed not considering he's slamming gears and drifting with one hand lmao.

This is one the better tutorials found on youtube so far for this..also curius your van setup for power?..running solar id assume too? I lived in a ambulance few years had it setup for reg gaming but this takes it too another level🤘 love it.
Defiantly the most informative video explaining drifting. I'm ok at doing single corners but only in 2nd gear at the moment, I can donut slightly but trying to transition is the hardest thing ever. Hopefully your tips to practise will help with that eventually.
This is nice I love watching van life and drifting videos and this channel is all in one lol I am currently saving some money to buy a wheel in the future and I will save this tutorial. I am playing carx using a controller right now and hopefully soon I will learn how to drift in Assetto Corsa using a wheel, I already have the game but it's better to play on a wheel in my opinion.
Hey, thanks for the tips but do you know why my wheel will not steer for it self like you say at 3:58 of the video. I've been trying to figure out how it works and how to do that, but everything i try wont work. Like does it have to do with my setup or is it something i'm doing wrong.
Bannana! I'm 3 weeks in, I can comfortably hold a drift in the "square" close to where you start off, transitioning and controlling it. Doing well on other corners as well but my main issue is creativity. But seeing the routes you were taking helped a ton and I'll practice those and try freestyle more. I learnt the left foot breaking by accident and felt pretty good when you recommended it. This learning curve has been fun, intimidating at first. I'm still absolute garbage at CarX though, find myself avoiding it altogether (its a breeze on controller, wheel is a whole other ball game).
Thanks man. I've tried settings and other cars. I still feel a slight deadzone in wheel that kinda throws me the other way alot. Maybe a better wheel soon. I kill in any other car/drift Sims. This is the toughest. Earned a sub for honesty!
To be straight honest, wheels can be a possible reason you're not able to drift in certain scenarios. I come from a G923 to a (currently kaput) Moza R9, and I can definitely tell ya, that you cannot make fast transitions sometimes with the low powered and arguably shit wheels. My little thing that I add onto this video
@@DansGamingVan Well, do you have your own experience with this? Go into moza pithouse, and put the maximum wheel speed down to like 20% or less, and you'll see, it ain't a skill issue on fast transitions, only thing you can do is slow the transition as much as possible so the wheel can actually handle it
@@sheep7255I’ve got a g920 and can manage to make fast transitions if your struggling turn up your gain as for me it makes the wheel come back to you quicker

u gotta lower wheel rotation on weaker wheels (logitech g920 for example) to actually be able to drift because the ffb isnt strong enough to countersteer fully on 900 degrees
As a beginner what should I invest in more. 3 pedals (cuz I have 2), handbrake, or shifter (I have paddles)? If one of them where should I get a good budget one?
