Second of all I wish this was around when I started Drifting xD, haha..
For me it was 2 weeks of Slamming my head against a wall, because Ctorretto's and others guides just weren't as straight forward...
But then I started to get it, and now I can pretty much drift any track I see first time, without having to " Learn " the Track first.
What if I have a 270 degree wheel with no ffb and two pedals
Huge help! Went from spinning out every time, to being able to confidently pull drifts and maintain them for pretty long, just took a few hours of practice. My setup is a G29 with the pedals and gearbox, its nice to see someone that says theres no excuses when nearly everyone else was making me doubt my gear and turn me away from trying to drift since it was making me blame my gear when I’d spin out. After getting that out the way I was able to focus and keep it moving till I got the hang of it 🤟🔥
What is so frustrating is people like Goosiest and a few others telling everyone to never buy a G29 or a G920... IDC how much smoother a Direct Drive wheel is, It works, and isn't an excuse for not being able to do it.. It almost got to me, I thought it was my wheel, but it was just me...
tbh tho if you havent got a wheel, defo go straight to a belt or direct drive as it does help. i had a g29 then went to a t300rs and even tho im pretty mid at drifting, it helped a ton with the car's self steering. its like learning to write neat with charcoal instead of a pencil, you can do it but it will take more time :)@@Balfourism
Dude just seeing this!! Thank you so much for the super chat and thoughtful comment!!! Comments like this fuel me to keep making videos!! I hope you’ve been having fun with the struggles of the learning curves! Get practiced up and we’ll have to get doors!
the only reason why the g29 isnt as good for drifting as even a little bit more expensive t300 is bc sometimes you have to kind of "flick" the wheel bc of its low rotational speed so that you dont spin out and making that a habit isnt good as in real life you dont do that but using LUTs does help a little bit @@Balfourism
@@ali_240glya drifting with a g29 is a little harder cause there no drect drive but atill fun
Doc Hudson- “Turn right to go left.”
The best tip to give🙌🏼
Yeah right, that makes perfect sense 😅Turn right to go left 🤡

@@ahardbridgetocross3832How old are you lil bro
@@TheTulleyMan wtf less than that lol
The man in the van down by the river that has a plan. What are we doing today? Learning to Drift bet teach me Master Dan
Hahahaahahah thank you very much for the comment DK!!🙌🏼🙌🏼
Advanced drifter here, solid advice and great video overall. Just one thing to add to anyone whoever reads this. Always try to drift with two hands. You're putting yourself at a huge disadvantage by drifting with one hand and it's very hard to unlearn this bad habit once you accumulate more hours. I've seen streamers struggle with this. Don't do it! Even if it looks cool.
i thought they were disabled cause they were shifting left handed too
Lol i can't even if i had three hands!!!
@@Yuki-rh1ie I'm still early on in the video but does bro actually have his right arm?? I just assumed not considering he's slamming gears and drifting with one hand lmao.
thankyou. I grew up racing, drift wasnt heard of in north amarica then Im 40 and just wanting to get good at it mostly to keep up with the every advancing sim realism as I strugle from the fact I cant feel the car in sim. I got good with one hand parked on the shifter and its been a driving habiton the road the track and 4x4ing my whole life.working on drifting in asseto I didnt even, and wouldnt have thought to, see that as a bad habit.
Yes yes!!! I recently had shoulder surgery so right arm was out of commission!
before this video I had no clue how to break but while watching your video I did my best drift yet thanks!
Thank you so much for the comment, keep practice! I will make an advanced tips videos of some other things that can help you learning to drift!
"Bannana" Nice tips man, Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks man. I've tried settings and other cars. I still feel a slight deadzone in wheel that kinda throws me the other way alot. Maybe a better wheel soon. I kill in any other car/drift Sims. This is the toughest. Earned a sub for honesty!
BANNANAAA 🍌
Thanks for that video, I received my round steering wheel today (I had only a F1 wheel), gonna start learning drifting ! 💨💨
Bannana! I'm 3 weeks in, I can comfortably hold a drift in the "square" close to where you start off, transitioning and controlling it. Doing well on other corners as well but my main issue is creativity. But seeing the routes you were taking helped a ton and I'll practice those and try freestyle more. I learnt the left foot breaking by accident and felt pretty good when you recommended it. This learning curve has been fun, intimidating at first. I'm still absolute garbage at CarX though, find myself avoiding it altogether (its a breeze on controller, wheel is a whole other ball game).
the burnouts were a great tip for me, thanks!
Many thanks! Clear and effective instructions 👌
Banana, great vid! Can’t wait to try this out!
This is nice I love watching van life and drifting videos and this channel is all in one lol I am currently saving some money to buy a wheel in the future and I will save this tutorial. I am playing carx using a controller right now and hopefully soon I will learn how to drift in Assetto Corsa using a wheel, I already have the game but it's better to play on a wheel in my opinion.
Thank you dude!! More van life stuff in my Dans Van Life channel, CarX is suuuper fun on controller, so much car customization
nice content van guy also i love bannana
tysm bro. I was struggling to stop understeering into corners and u helped me so much
Super common issue when using too much wheel input! Glad I could help!
Defiantly the most informative video explaining drifting. I'm ok at doing single corners but only in 2nd gear at the moment, I can donut slightly but trying to transition is the hardest thing ever. Hopefully your tips to practise will help with that eventually.
did you improve?
@@zzoptimal3446 Im also curious, how are you going 7 months later?
This video is rebelliously the most informative video explaining drifting
Awesome. I just started and this helped so much
BANNANA
I luv ur vids bro keep up the good work
These are some good tips man thanks
Thank you!!
straight to the point! thank you.
i actually started to being able to drift thanks for the tutorial
Comments like this inspire me to continue making informational videos!! Thank you dude, an advanced tips video is coming soon!🙏🏼
Bannana! Real good tips you got here! Tho one important one if missing, always two hands on the steering wheel when possible!😸👍
Hahahahah absolutely!! Sadly I goofed my shoulder up real bad so I’m the one handed bandit often hahaha
helped SOOO much, went in always spinning out not really having a clue what i was doing. really the best video on an intro to drifting.
Didnt help me one bit lol
how do you spin out
Banana! Thanks for the tips man.
Thanks you so much for this!!!
this helped me alot
Nice man no one talked about that burnout , ITS AWESOME ❤❤
1- Also i wonder why 900 , cant I just make it auto to follow whatever car?
2- Tuning the car is an excuse or you have to tune them before you jump in? the 2 cars you mentioned 😁😁
Go "bananas"!! Thanks for the vid, even thou I still suck at drifting 😂😂
Hahahaha you’ll get there!!! All in the practice
Bannana! I think the left foot braking was the main take-away for me. Thanks.
Glad you stuck around for that!! I swear left foot braking is a cheat code
bannana! good stuff bro!
Thank you Luis!! 🤘🏼🤝

Thank you Zov!
Thanks a lot!
Gotta say I like this guy.
Hahaha I like you
Yessir Dan let em
Know gang once you put them hours in on the wheel & the right settings drifting becomes second to nature💯🔥💪🏾🛞I went from a Logitech G920 to G923 and keeping the car sideways hasn’t been a problem on Forza,Assetto or carx 💨
All in the practice!!! Or as some tandom tiktok said… The trick to drifting is, You gotta have that Dawg in you 😂💪🏼
Thank you for the comment Tom🙏🏼
banana.. thank you this vid helped a lot
Hey, thanks for the tips but do you know why my wheel will not steer for it self like you say at 3:58 of the video. I've been trying to figure out how it works and how to do that, but everything i try wont work. Like does it have to do with my setup or is it something i'm doing wrong.
Thankyou so much
taught me alot, all im just having a hardtime on power drifts on long corners
fuck me this is far better than the 20 minute guides ive watched today in the first 2 minutes alone.
Thank you man, leaving positive comments like this on videos is so appreciated by creator
Thanks for the tips. Gonna like the vid for ya and throw a comment your way. (Monkey food btw)
whats the map or server you are driving in at the beginning and end of the video? Apreciate the tips, van life looks dope, im kinda jealous. Peace
Banana Good stuff Dan. Seat time, seat time, seat time.
Thank you Rice!! 🍌🙏🏼🙏🏼
I shall use this to crush my weakness of drifting thanks for the tips dawg
Get er done dude!! The first 5-10 hours of practice can be super lame hahaha push through
Banana👍🏻 what do you think about the wdt drift car packs, are they realistic? And if not do you have any recomandations? Thanks
Love them! WDTS and Gravy Garage are my most recommended packs
hey man im new to this what version of the game do you use ?
Awesome tutorial dan, if you released this a few months back when i first got my TX... this would of been a cheat code lol. just kidding but i have gained skill since then and this video still helped exaplain some concepts i couldnt fully grasp before hand. Thanks dan
Hahah dude thank you so much for the kind words! The TX is such a capable and fun wheel!
super helpful heres a banana
🙏🏼🙏🏼
Bannana 👏🏾
banana , goood viddddddd
I learned in a weird sequence, got single corners then transitions first, also downhill brake drifting, before doing donuts.
Hahaha that works too!! Donuts is an easy way to learn how throttle/brake affects the car.. but single corners is probably the most common way to just go at learning to drift🙏🏼 good work man!
Who’s this guy!!
Thank you for the video.
I'm on Xbox one. So set abs and steering to factory? What should I place stability control at? 40%.
That all sounds good!! I believe stability control at 0% is best but not 100% sure on that
Subed 10 sec into the video
You are a legend, thank you
Having a hard time doing a donut around that circle. How do you controll the size of the donut?
Should i be afraid of redlining engine? Sometimes i don't have enough power to extend the drift (without redlining the engine). And how long should i be on the redline?
hopefully im not too late to get a reply but i have one issue. i know you said not to turn ffb down, but when i see you or any other youtuber drifting, your wheels seem really light whereas i feel i am my wheel has waaaaay too much weight to it and im constantly getting dragged. idk
banana , gooood videooooo
Thank you very much Gabriel!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🤝
Would you say it's possible to drift with a 180 degree wheel? (PXN i3 wheel)
so u can drift with all the car or just with this supra and bmw?
i have a logitech gt drivingforce i need some tips for settings to use
I plan on getting a thrustmaster t300 rs GT because right now I have a pin v9 and a handbrake but the pxn wheel doesn’t work with assetto corsa it doesn’t let me bind it
It should work!!! That’s super frustrating if not, Pxn is becoming a large name and should def support the largest sim racing game on market
What wheel are you using?
What is the game at the end with curvy road and rocks on one side?
useful bananaa...
Man, I drift like a banana, but this vid will help hopefully..
Hahahahahahahah best comment yet, thank you for watching the whole thing man
Hey man. The xbox version dosent have the drifg map as practice. You can only play for 1 min. What should i do?
As a beginner what should I invest in more. 3 pedals (cuz I have 2), handbrake, or shifter (I have paddles)? If one of them where should I get a good budget one?
If you’re on PC/able to upgrade to 3 pedals I’d suggest that first, then shifter, then handbrake
So how do we get to the drift maps I got pc assetto. And it dosent even notice my logitech g920 or the ebrake.
Bro has drifting down to a science…
what are the graphic settings? is there any grapic pack mod to download?
What should lobby settings be?
"you dont need a handbrake" THANK YOU! i was affraid i don t have a handbrake controller so i cant drift but no, i m just bad
Hahahahaha being able to say “I’m just bad” tells me all I need to know about you. In the best way, people love to blame their equipment rather than themselves, so I respect you for that. You will get the hang of it, lots of donuts, burnouts and crashes you’ll get it
Bananas 😂❤️🔥
I’m thinking about getting a new wheel who do you recommend I get it from
Thanks for the comment man, depends if you’re on PC and rough budget!
To be straight honest, wheels can be a possible reason you're not able to drift in certain scenarios. I come from a G923 to a (currently kaput) Moza R9, and I can definitely tell ya, that you cannot make fast transitions sometimes with the low powered and arguably shit wheels. My little thing that I add onto this video
Nope. Skill issue.
@@DansGamingVan Well, do you have your own experience with this? Go into moza pithouse, and put the maximum wheel speed down to like 20% or less, and you'll see, it ain't a skill issue on fast transitions, only thing you can do is slow the transition as much as possible so the wheel can actually handle it
@@sheep7255I’ve got a g920 and can manage to make fast transitions if your struggling turn up your gain as for me it makes the wheel come back to you quicker
2:12 chose a 180-190hp range e36 sedan is that fine?
bannana ❤️
noob here, ill practice with the supra, what value do you recommend me for the stability control bro (i turned of traction control & have stability at 40% i think so) ? sorry if my english is bad it’s not my primary language haha
0
Try turning it down to 0% and give that a try!
What happens if the wheel doesnot have 900° wheel rotation
I started drifting in 3rd person on ac ps4. I switched to pc and turned on neck fx now I can only drift 1st person😂
Hahaha I did the same, but now have them both dialed in, both options is easier and harder at the same time in their own way
M car won’t pick up any speed while drifting until full traction and I have traction control off and stability plz help assert sucks
Newbie question is there a way to practice in the drift map without time limit? Thanks.
Hmmm, I’m using content manager so it’s different but maybe look for a “practice” or “track day” option?
bananana thank you
When i let go the Wheel i get tons of Oszilation car cant even drive straight when you let go the Wheel. The wheels rotates 90° back and forth until car spins out
For direct drive wheels this is pretty common, 90 degrees is a bit much though, look into turning ffb down if you have a wheel that’s very powerful, otherwise hold on tight when you’re going straight, you’re only letting go once you’re at angle and transitioning. My wheel also occolates if I let go while driving straight
Hey am on ps5 with a G29 I make content I have one question what is a good frist pc
Acer nitro 5 isn’t bad!
dude's got a friggin car in his car
😂😂😂🚐🏎️
What map were you drifting on at the end
LAC
Bannana 🎉
What setting makes the weheel a bit lighter mine is like driving an old bedford
Its okay i worked it out
are the wdt street cars okay to start?
Yup I’d suggest those or Gravy Garage, but switch it up often!
How did you get this smoke
