  • Turkish, the national language of Turkey, belongs to the Ural-Altic language family and is spoken by over 80 million people around the world. Turkish is a beautiful language, not only easy to learn but also highly poetic and harmonic, the perfect language for literature as I always say.
Wherever you travel around the world, it is always better to learn a few words and phrases of the language of the country you're visiting. Not only will it make your travel easier, but also will make it much more enjoyable. Being able to communicate with locals and get around easier is a huge plus. Turkish people are very warm and welcoming, which is also why they love to be in contact with people from other countries. Even if all you learn is how to say "hello" or "thank you", it will add a lot of joy to your travel, and will be appreciated by locals. So, here I made a list of some of the most used words and phrases you will hear and might want to use while traveling around Turkey. Good luck, and safe travels!

Very good introduction. I would add "var" and "yok" which refer to the existence or absence of something, and in many situations are used instead of "evet" and "hayir"
