Conrad Feininger is still the best narrator. As far as I'm concerned this is _the definitive voice_ for Lovecraft's work. His pitch, tone, accent and cadence are just the perfect match for the literature here.
Why? What do you like about it? I’m not asking in an opposing way, I’m just genuinely curious because to my ear it sounds pretty standard and nondescript.
I wish I could find recordings of all of Lovecraft's stuff including the mound that are straight from radio recordings or something similar. Listening to older quality like this is the real way
Far superior to anything else I've heard. I don't feel like I'm hearing a Lovecraft story if it not in this old radio gravely voice. Too many modern readers are overly dramatic.

I can't listen to any other version I've been hearing it narrated this way on youtube for years. It's just too good...
Yep :)
The guy on TES channel gives him a run for his money.

Except for how he pronounces insmouth incorrectly yes he's great 👍

Best voice for the drunken crusty guy... Perfect!!
This is my favourite audiobook. I listen to it most nights.

Easily my favorite voice to read lovecraft audiobooks
Agreed. Do you know the name of the narrator? I'd like to listen to more of his work
Morgan Scorpion has a voice too. Different!

Idk? His story just keeps getting worse and worse, and I panicked when he mentioned the Shoggoth.
A huge part of it for me is how impeccably voiced the passage is
Nah it's gotta be the guy at the bus depot who was like "oh insmouth? Let me tell you it's entire history! sit down for an hour me lad!"
The description of innsmouth is basically Ipswich in the uk.
Oi, you cheeky b*stard!

There should not be anyone not using adblock, or brave browser on android.
There should also definitely not be anyone using youtube Re-vanced. Automatically skipping past in-video ads should be a crime.
Anyone read moby dick? The part in the middle reminds me of it, the drunk sailor talking about the captain but can’t find anything online about it
Pretty sure Joshi brings up some point of reference about this in one of his various works on HPL.

That end is worthy of comparison to M. Night Shamalyan. Lovecraft is the grandfather of modern day sci-fi horror.
Shamalyan has no business having his work compared to Lovecraft, you've seen too many mind altering inter dimensional beings to be stating a such.
@@SirBearization I just meant that the twist was similar.

M Night Shayablamamam is a hack. He had one good movie and has been riding the wave of his own mediocrity ever since.
What utter rubbish. Shamlion is not at all worthy of any comparison to anything half-decent, let alone Lovecraft.

I think you might be on to something. Lovecraft himself wrote that Abdul Alhazred was written with a wink, as if to say this man had “read all”
As much as I would like for that to be the case, I don’t really think it is.
It's supposed to be pronounced "inns-MUTH", so that doesn't seem likely.

you're telling me I've been pronouncing Ply-mouth Rock wrong for 24 years???
Well considering Innsmouth is a fictional town. Who really knows exactly how Lovecraft intended its pronunciation
