About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation's history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It's just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

Winona Ryder is freaking great as Peggy, she needs to do more comedy.
And still hot.
Winona Ryder just shoplifted my heart.
I consider heathers as a dark comedy, but that's like 34 years old
I want Erin Mcgathy
@@sirspoonkm. CORN NUTS......!!!🤭🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
Why, why, why was this show EVER cancelled?? I've learned more history watching this show then I did in middle, high and college... SHAME comedy central, SHAME! Of course, I went to American public schools, so... there's that!
Unfortunately Covid canceled it. There was no way to do it during the two years of covid. But I do wish they could bring it back!
Same here! Can we start a petition to bring DH bak???
Same like wth
@@sharonjohnson6273 considering it's Hollywood and now there's monkey virus, or rodent really it should be called, might be a longer delay.
You remember Sam Kinison joke back in the day?
Facts
4:12 Washington using the iconic Revolutionary War Red Solo Cup was so beautiful.
George Washington drinking out of a red Solo cup is something I didn't know I needed to see.
It’s the most American thing
I really love them mouthing every single mumbled word, burb and laugh. What a show lol
I am directly descended from one of those Hessians that Washington captured. After the war, he just decided to stick around instead of faffing on back to Germany, and was like, dude I'm an American now. And that's why I'm here today commenting in this thread.
Ein Hesse, Hallo!
I read that as "And that's why I'm a hero today" and I thought, "Correct"
4:11 i have never had a single image destroy my immersion so beautifully. That solo cup was hilareous
"Give me your purse or whatever".
"All I have is this stick, so whack".
Ok, but Hamilton wanting to attack because they had infinite musicians kind of makes sense when you remember that Hamilton reopens on Broadway this month.
23:37 The way she says "Bebe" made me laugh so hard. 😆
Not to mention all the "dad jokes."
I'd love to see a film based on Deborah Sampson.
Paget is the best!
Do you have a BEBE?
@@lei1207 😄
These are all SUPER well acted. The comedic timing is amazing. I'm consistently impressed with every one of these.
Wynona Ryder, John Lithgow, and did I spot Dave Grohl in there, too?
Wow - the special effects!!! They obviously spared no expense on the Crossing of the Delaware: you couldn't tell the CGI from live-action!
Love this comment...still laughing at the little boats 😂
I lived Ben Franklin's bald wig, no expense spared there, at all!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
what??? it was CGI??? but it looked so real!!! 😂😂😂
😂😂🤣😂🤣😂
@@ludmillagutomo Yes, decades of very critical film viewing and analysis have honed my ability to discern and decipher filmmakers' sleights of hand, but these guys raised the game to an entirely new level!!!
Whenever Derek Waters and Paget Brewster get together it's always freaking hilarious. They play off each other so well.
What other episodes? I noted the fun chemistry there as well!
@@scottyelliott5709 I looked it up. Here are the seasons and which episode. S1E6, S2E4, and S3E11. That's the ones I could find. She even was one of the actors in the skit a couple of times.
@@nighttimegodess thank you so much!!!
Wow, it’s not surprising that a woman who did way more work wouldn’t be recognized in history lessons but instead we hear about Paul. I love this show.
We have about as much evidence for Sybil Ludington's ride as we have for Johnny Appleseed's adventures. Even if everything written about her is true (which no legit historian believes or can confirm), she still only did 1% of what Revere did during the war.
@@michaelfasano8569 But we do have evidence that nobody ever said "The British are coming". Wouldn't have made any sense, everybody was British in the British colonies.
@@jdrancho1864 😂🤣😂
We learned about Paul because of the poem. Back when kids had to memorize and recite poetry to others, The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere was often chosen, along with crowd-pleasers like Hiawatha, The Raven, If, Trees, and passages from Shakespeare. By the by, in our school at 5th grade in the text book is the story of Sybil Ludington, to compare and contrast with Paul Revere. I don't know when you were in school or how much you paid attention instead of doodling, but some kids learn about Sybil AND Paul.
@@jdrancho1864 we know that he didn’t yell it out he did indeed tell ppl the British are coming just in back rooms
The Benedict Arnold cast was incredible, everyone had me cracking up. Miss this show so much
"All war is a symptom of man's failure as a thinking animal" - Mr. Bean
@Aubrey Mia copied
Wasn't that Steinbeck mate ?
Though I love Mr bean ;)
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." - Bugs Bunny
Someone please PLEASE bring back this show?!?!?!
Season 7, was halfway done!!!!
Am I crazy or was that Winona Ryder as “Peggy”?
that's her, yes!
The hospital sign that said "Hospital, the one thing she was trying to avoid" took me OUT
I always LOVE the lip Syncing on these stories! 😂
Shoutout to Ludington's horse.
That's funny the actress who plays Sybil Ludington warning people of the British is a British actress
Also the actor playing Washington in the van Steuben story
@@charlieboy6315 oh cool I didn't know that what's his name?
@@MeatMachine69 Stephen Merchant
@@charlieboy6315 cool thanks
@@MeatMachine69 he made the original office.
Emily....From criminal minds....never knew she knew so much about history.
She's actually hilarious sober too!
I learned more about this event than I ever did in school. And I'll remember it now!!
Yeah, but what are the sources? I love these but don't take it as cannon. No sources cited, just trust in drunken actors who are supposed to do their own research. I'd love a verify before repeating these great stories. Don't want to be that person who perpetrates a tale without a credible, citable source. Entertainment vs reality...I do like these, I'm just saying...
If you think this is historically accurate, then I’d like to sell you a bridge…
@@zac3392 bwahahaha 😂😂😂 yeah, I hear ya! I was feeling angsty & have a true interest in this historical period so, ehh, it's whatever's. Like to see those bridges! 👍😂
@@denawagner360 "Cannon"?
I learnt about it at school but that's because my teacher put on oversimplified and I watched these in my spare time and I passed at the top of my class ahead of everyone with flying colours
The red solo cup in the boat!
18:08 "Hey.........blah blah.........I got it." - Some woman who helped save America, 1776.
(The Crossing of The Delaware River) 0:11 - 5:53
(Baron Von Steuben Shapes Up Washington's Army) 5:54 - 10:54
(Benedict Arnold Betrays His Country for Love) 10:55 - 16:40
(Sybil Ludington's Midnight Ride) 16:41 - 22:15
(Deborah Sampson Cross-Dresses to Fight the British) 22:16 - 29:04
(George Washington Mentors Alexander Hamilton) 29:05 - 32:10
I really miss this program . "A" list actors , comedy and educational. Great stuff . Too bad the old Godzilla movies weren't dubbed this well. Was that David Grohl ?
I think it was 😂🤙🏻
Lin Manuel Miranda talking about Hamilton is absolutely hilarious.
“Do you have a bEy-BAY?
It's 100% fitting that Winona Ryder would play the most beautiful woman on the planet.
“Classic flap in the neck” I almost dropped my drink 🍹
Washington drinking out of a red solo cup will forever be the best thing that happened in history
28:19 Paget always makes me cry when I watch this episode. I love her so much! 🖤
Same I teared up!
They used their bayonets, they had all clean teeth.....and they won the war !
This Was awesome. Having Paget Brewster talk about my ancestor, Deborah, was perfect!
I realized I love Paget Brewster. She's great.
The red headed woman killed it with all that vocal fry.
The guy playing Alexander Hamilton is really funny in the first few min...just body language alone
the red solo cup truly a part of American history.
Paul Revere only did 20 miles and yet history likes to remember him more. That’s messed up.
So Deborah is partly American Mulan?
Well Disney has a tendency to take American stuff and put them in their movies. Hercules was just Superman.
@@aisnota5192 Yeah, ummmmm, Hercules definitely predates Superman
That second to last one with Paget had me in tears. How has i never heard of this until today??? Oh yeah people have no taste.
"hey blah blah" always gets me 18:10
Winona killed this! I love her! She's hilarious! 😆
This is the grown-up version of Horrible Histories. I'm torn between which I enjoy more. 😉
"WTF...I'm talking to America!" 😂😂😂
WHAT THE F**K I'M TALKING TO AMERICA!!! 🤣
I would have totally payed attention in class had it been taught this way!!!!!
No one ever said "the British are coming" half the population at the time was British. They said "the regulars are coming"
Winona Ryder you are the winner of this lipsynch! XD
My 7th great grandpa was in the Connecticut militia fitting this war.
My 9th g-gpa was in the battle at Mytick Fort. He was a founder of Norwich Connecticut.
Hamilton is all "put me in coach"
This series is both a national treasure and it's amazing how after all these years DH is still holding up really well…! I'm guessing Derek Waters (& his team, etc.) has tremendous quality control - usually greatness in comedy degrades (clears throat ..."SNL"... clears throat).
The people they got to do this show were so above and beyond.
I wouldn't be failing History if my teacher played this
Washington drinking out of a red Solo cup kills me.
I let out a little yelp when the fella said "Jesus told me so!" From American Movie.
This is such a fabulous comedy! Thank you for making these videos.
Trenton, Washington shows up late and future president James Monroe was one of the five severely wounded. Completely glossed over.
I had no idea Cruella Deville knew so much about US History
The history books will say they were buds.
Bokeem Woodbine as George Washington has me in shambles🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They need to bring this back. I enjoyed this program so much. The acting is great. The story telling right to the point and the amount of history I remember (right or wrong)is a lot more than what I learned in high school. Lol.
Not a single egg joke in this vid, even though they have breakfast.
Sarah was a definite badass! Thank you for your service & sacrifice, Sarah👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. RIP🕊.
It’s almost my female shark week, I have had a glass of wine, and I am on the verge of tears from these powerful stories.
The casting in these skits is consistently amazing😂❤
22:11 It was about to get really weird around there!!! the gloss of her eyes and thousand yard stare,
the Urge to sing the Lion King. Man i bet she's fun .
Fun Fact: the county that Trenton now resides in is now called “Mercer County”
"You're gonna be in the guy who knows best." Miranda was right the first time. :p
One of my ancestors was one of Marion’s men in the revolutionary war and one was a Hessian soldier who stayed in America
Her face... "Who's the dad joke now?..." 🤣🤣🤣
just when i think i’ve seen everything, this show gives me Stephen Merchant in a powdered wig
It's still called the Blue Book to this day in Army basic training.
I'd love to see a High history one. I would expect there'd be so much forgetting of what was happening though.
*G.Washington burps*
You alright?
💀💀💀💀💀
My boys learned so much history from this show and Horrible Histories than any other shows.
I miss it so much.
And yes, I’ll admit, I did too. Especially the hot air balloons during The Civil War. Come back 😓
I cannot tell you how amazed I was at this show
Didn't know that George Washington was also a shape shifter!
Why does Crispus Attucks keep getting left out of the historical recounts of the Revolutionary War? He was the first person to die in this war. A free Black man died for this country who proceeded to enslave all his brethren and sisters. ✊🏽
I love history but this outside of sabaton makes history fun
I love reading about history, fictionalized or academic, and I love this. Literally LOL while typing this comment. Can't stop. So perfect.
such an underrated show
There is nothing in a caterpillar that tells you it's going to be a butterfly.
I am pretty sure Andre was not in an American uniform when captured and was only discovered because they noticed whig powder looked out of place on an enlisted man. That is why he was hanged as a spy rather than shot as a soldier.
18:12. Serious Music. Hey, blah blah, I got it. ☠☠☠☠🤣🤣🤣
18:08 Sybil is the lady from Ted Lasso, yey! I don't know why that makes me happy. Probably because of having flashbacks from the wholesomeness of the show.
The fact that the George Washington’s kept changing was an interesting thing to see lol confused me when other actors who played generals then played Georgie
I frickin' love this show.
Yeah pre-1972 before I graduated
wish my history teachers would’ve been like this
It's a lawman nobody will ever remember her even if she went twice as many miles is Paul Revere
29:27 isn't that the guy that does Hamilton? Like the play
I don’t know why but I felt really sad when John Andre was sad
*am I okay*
3:05 perfect American Movie reference there…
if they had known that we germans celebrate Christmas at the 24 th, it would be easier^^
Washington with the Red Solo Cup made it!🤣
the burps in between sentences 😂😂😂
Today we're going to talk about Sybil Lundington...
Hey, you, in the back! Are you sleeping?
31:55. . . . Is that whispering guy DAVE GROHL?
