Alice has been on a roll of late. His last one "Detroit Stories" was excellent and this one is great too. Great to see an artist doing such fantastic music at this late stage in his career.
This is some of the best songs he’s done in years. Nice to see Sydney getting a credit on the album
Just how great is it in 2023 to be talking about new music from Alice Cooper. Easy to forget what a total legend his is sometimes.
Met Nita during her solo tour this past Summer. She was promoting her new Call Of The Wild CD. Not only is she a terrific guitar player but she was as sweet as could be signing anything you wanted. You could tell she loves her fans. That woman is a non stop touring machine! With her solo band, With Alice & Demi Lovato I'm sure you will see her playing somewhere!
I was stoked to see Jim Bacci have a writing credit on this album!
Pretty impressive that Alice`s vocals still sound great into his 70`s. Always thought he had one of the best rock voices around.
A very fun record. I liked it more than Paranormal and Detroit Stories. Glad to see the Coop continuing to be a workhorse on and off the stage. He is the Energizer Bunny of rock music.
Alice has released some great music in his day including some albums that kind of veered in a different direction that I own: "Flush The Fashion," "Special Forces," and " DaDa."
I absolutely love this album. Everything I love about Alice Cooper is here! Nothing wrong with "Big Boots" Cooper comedy at its best! Top 5 for the year, could be #1...We shall see.
Tom Morello (Rage In Support Of The Machine) and Roger Glover (Deep Purple) both play on 1 track each
It's a pretty good album... Alice knows what his audience wants and he delivers
Thumbs up from me on the editorial description alone.
Peter about a week ago, we just got this album on vinyl. It even came with a bonus DVD full concert. Fantastic record. Damn , 75 years old. This is amazing. Hope all is well. As always, we send the best..
A very fun record. Glad the band actually recorded this time.
@@tomp4053 Hi Tom. Great to hear from you. Totally agree. Listening to this album, I felt like a kid again in the 1970s. An amazing and very fun record indeed. Hope all is well. all the best..
Thank you, Pete for your excellent review. All the damn time.
I listened to the new, Alice Cooper’ Road’, release and it rocks !!
Glad, Nita Strauss and Sydney Taylor, are on it !! I’m going to buy the record/dvd and CD.
🎤🎸🎵🎹🥁
Life is better with music
How can you not love Alice Cooper? He's simultaneously a shock rock nightmare and the coolest grandad on the planet.
Miss Sydney on the channel , glad she's doing great !
Thanks for the review, Pete. SOT superstars abound! Great for Sydney and Jim.
This will go on the "to purchase" list!
Stoked to hear Strauss on a studio issue as much as I was to hear the 'new guys' from BÕC on the last album they did.
Cool shirt. Bryce is awesome 🤘
Think this is a great album! Just happy I got to see Alice live this year and that he is still making music!
Finally recorded an album with his amazing touring band! I wasn't a big fan of Detroit Stories but Road kicks ass!
Alice should co-write an entire album with Jim! 100 More Miles is my fave track. Good album.
Thank you 😊
Actually seen this for sale in my local Asda so I picked it up , I'm more of a compilation Alice listener so after Pete's review I'm intrigued to listen to this one
Great tshirt, Pete!
🌠Alice Cooper is SSSOOO Good Live..I was goin 2 the Hartford Show..but I hadda Dead Battery...Congratulations Sydney..living the Dream & loving Rush ! (joking)
I have been a fan of Alice Cooper since 1972 when "Schools out" went to number 1 here in the UK, I have every album that has been released, Alice albums seem to go in peaks and troughs, from the recent albums "Welcome 2 my nightmare" and "Paranormal" were the peak and in my opinion "Detroit stories" and "Road" are way down in a trough
I saw Alice Cooper in Cincinnati last night. Great performance. I bought the “Road” t-shirt. Rock on, SoT. 🤘
They've been playing some of the new Alice songs on Classic Metal Radio lately, which is cool bcuz mostly it's older stuff. Good stuff! 😅
Excellent record. Really fun listen.
I highly recommend Nita's debut solo album""Controlled Chaos"". Great stuff.
I listened to it last night, and i thought it was great. Couple of filler songs, but other than that, fantastic. They did a great job on the Road rats forever, a throwback to the 77 roat rats. my friend Jack loves this station, so i wanted to give a look at. Awesome show
"Road rats forever" is a rendition of the fantastic "Road rats" from "Lace and Whiskey" (1977). IMHO The original with Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on guitars is far better than this new version. But the album is great.
Listened to a few tracks before coming to the review. Sounds like a good Alice listen and enjoyed what I heard a bit more than the last album. Will be listening to this out running errands this afternoon. Thanks once again, Pete, for the new product shows.
This time you hear more of a band rather a solo artist..
I’m so glad to see Alice still hammering it out and touring all about to this very day.
His legendary career was already cast in stone generations ago and it could have lived on from his 60’s / 70’s output alone had he packed it in back then.
My unwavering faves concerning his albums are BDB, Welcome, From Inside, and Flush The Fashion.
Have his entire output except for this latest and the last.
Must fix that.
Sadly I’ve only caught him live twice.
Operation R’n’roll Toronto the night of Halfords little stage nap.
Also a few years back in Toronto opening for Maiden ( pretty much front of stage for that)
Both shows killer.
Long live Alice Cooper!!!
I really like Road. I think overall its better than Detroit Stories. I'm Alice, Welcome to the show, All over the world, Go away, White line Frankenstein, Big Boots, and Road rats forever are the standouts for me. Go Away is probably my favorite at this point. The blu-ray disc is awesome as well, picture quality is outstanding.
What instrument does Sydney play? . . . I remember Sydney picking an Alice Cooper album as one of her top 5 or 10 favorites when the Squares were all sharing their favorite top LPs.
Been waiting for your review of Road! Love the concept behind it. Dead Don't Dance is my favourite track!
The song 'Go Away' is so damn good.
In the 1971 song "Be My Lover" (from "Killer") Alice sang "She asked me why the singer's name was Alice...I said listen baby, you really wouldn't understand"!!
Love the record, saw the show last week, the guitar work was great different and better than the last few releases
...Hey Hey Sidney ! ....
Congrats Indeed ! 😎
Another purchase methinks. I agree that his most recent albums are great.
Great album by Alice.
Congrats Sydney!
The song "Baby Please Don't Go" is NOT the remake of Them with Van Morrison 1966 song.
Love the record, rocks hard and has the trademark Alice sense of humour lol
She’s like a thorn sticking in my shoe
Like a kidney stone that just won’t pass through
Standouts are I’m Alice, Dead Don’t Dance, and White Line Frankenstein. Shoutout to Big Boots, for the entertainment value alone lol.
I’ve watched a couple of interviews with him over the last week, and he said he’s planning to open his shows with I’m Alice. Two other things, one important for fellow Aussies, he said he’s heading our way next year, and also, he and Ezrin have another album in the can, completed, for release next year. 😊👍
This album is excellent!! 9 - 10!!
Hey Pete. I was wondering, if you have heard anything about the new album (it has been out for som time now) from Mutoid Man “Mutans” . I can tell, that it’s a great, as in f*cking great, album and I can strongly recommend it to you.
Have a great day 🤘
Hmm. I'll have to try listening to some more tracks. I've really like to loved almost everything he's put out in the last 20 years, but I thought the 1st 2 or 3 singles he put out from this album were pretty bad/dull. I really want to like it. What are people's thoughts on the concert?
@@christopherbingham5092 Well, that's good news.
Love this album
I agree with you Pete a 3.5 but add the live DVD and it's a 4 -Star record!
REVIEW: Vandenberg Sin?
my favorite sandwich is tunafish hero with onions and tomatos
this album was so so for me, i enjoyed the music at times , but found the lyrics painful and cringy worthy at times/🐯
Hey bengal. I rated this album a 3.5. I can certainly understand the cringy part. 🎶💜💜
@@christopherbingham5092 Thanks, Christopher.
Why he did 2 covers I don’t know
I really enjoyed this one, Alice can still cut it!
😄👍
🎸⚡🕷️⚡🎸
He looks like an older wrinkled Henry Winkler 'FONZIE ,THE FONZ' YESSA!
The album was okay.
As a lifelong fan I'm sad to admit this... I don't like this new album from Alice and I feel its his weakest effort since "The Eyes Of Alice Cooper". Mostly forgettable and redundant, even "Road Rats Forever" doesn't improve on the original - it's just a different version. For that matter the "Roadie" soundtrack version is better than this one. Alice's band is very talented but lacking in songwriting skill. Not an essential release for me.
I thought this album was his best in years. Sounds like a great band effort. Oddly, the two promo tracks are my least favorite.
The album is mixed , not great but not crap. White Line Frankenstein and The Big Goodbye are pretty cool , not a big fan of I'm Alice though. Rules Of The Road could possibly be his worst song ever , just terrible.
Done with him
Thematically and lyrically, one of his least interesting albums.
Surprisingly strong album considering the presence of the truly dire Nita Strauss, Alice's worst guitarist since Kane Roberts.
They’re both on the album.
Nope, doesn't do it for me
Never understood the appeal of Alice Cooper
