The macular edema resulting from the hyperpermeability of the leaky vessel in diabetics is accumulation of fluid within the inner nuclear and outer plexiform layer of the retina. I am wondering, why hard drusen appear sometime surrounding the macular, while blood supply of macular actually is from another system, and further more the fovea is nonvascular area.
