- Congratulations to Lucy, Sean, Danny and Jay on a spellbinding performance last night on the finale of Channel 4’s The Piano.
We continue to be awestruck by Lucy’s ability, and the best part is that we hear her play every single day, which is an incredible honour. Her music is the soundtrack to everyday life at Ravenscliffe, and our entire community is so lucky to have her with us.
Quite rightfully, her teacher Daniel Bath has been recognised for the patience and devotion he has shown to Lucy and her family for over a decade. Daniel is a hugely talented musician in his own right, and also founded Music for the Many, a charity which provides instrumental tuition and other musical opportunities on an equitable and inclusive basis, free of charge, to children and young people. To learn more about their work, or if you would like to support them, please visit their website (www.music4themany.com).
We would like to also thank The Amber Trust, who have supported Lucy for many years. They are an incredible charity who give partially sighted and blind children the best possible chance to meet their musical needs and aspirations. If you would like to learn more about what they do, or feel able to make a donation to support them in their incredible work, please visit their website (www.theambertrust.org.uk).
If, by any chance, you missed last night’s show (or just want to watch it again, and again, and again!) here is Lucy on stage at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
We are privileged to have played a small part in Lucy’s story so far, and we can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next.

Thank you to everyone for all of your positive comments about Lucy.
12 workers on an oil rig in the north sea watching this and each one of us were looking for the peeled onions.
40 year old scaffolder. Haven’t shed a tear in many years. This made me cry, not sadness. Just in awe.
Mum, you’re a star for allowing your daughter to shine in a dark world
I think of myself as a strong man but to see this wonderful child play such beautiful music gets me choked up with tears. I spent 30 years of my life as an Infantry Soldier never thought someone playing the piano could get me to tear up. But Lucy Did.
Lucy doesn’t just feel the music, she is the music. ❤
We have to give thanks to her piano teacher.
She is a very pure soul. Protect Lucy at all cost.
I know her teacher daniel- he was my first conductor in the first ever orchestra I joined when I was 10. He made me feel welcome even though I was around 4 years younger than anyone else and was funny and lively. He founded a charity in deprived areas of West Yorkshire where I used to live, giving free instruments and tuition to kids who would never have got that opportunity. What a great guy
Anytime you think you are having a bad day…. Just watch and listen to this child. Awesome…
Lucy making people cry around the globe! Love from Brazil!
She has a miraculous gift!
When she plays, she enters her own world. She's kind enough to let us hear what is there.
A few minutes of sublime joy in a world gone mad. Thank you Lucy.
I'm a cynical, bitter old hag but moments like this bring pure unalloyed joy and happiness, they are rare and so, like Lucy, must be treasured all the more because of it. Happy tears.
This is living proof that the only limits are the ones we place on ourselves because of our doubts about what is possible. This young woman plays the piano with her entire body. The fact that she cannot see is not a disability to her, but allows her to fully express her passion.
This performance made me cry. There's much hidden beauty in this world. Bravo!
So there is beauty in the world. There is hope.
No one is good at everything. But everyone is good, at something. Lucy has a gift of an unclouded focus for sound, she sees perfectly.
Lucy is living in a different world than us. She has and is experiencing total perfection of spirit. We won't understand this until we receive our reward in the end. She got her gift early to give us hope.
