I just bought this laptop on a whim after finding very little reviews in English. Thank you lol, it's crazy your video came out right after I got interested in this laptop. I'm going to copy the drivers from mine and install Windows 10 LTSC or Linux on mine when it arrives.
beware of linux, the drivers are already not perfect, there is a japanese blogpost of someone trying to install linux but most of the drivers don't work. Also if possible could you share the drivers if possible, someone already shared a set but having parity just in case would help other people that buy it :/
I just ordered one of these. Glad you took one for the team and tried to install your own Windows, because I was going to do the same thing. That gave me the idea to use Google Translator to change the language instead.
In regards to your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems I recently found out myself that Japan uses a slightly different signal as standard... I think updating to a u.s. firmware for the Wi-Fi chip might help.
@@Cyber_Gas Just Google "windows 10 wifi/Bluetooth update (us)". Make sure to include both parentheses around (us) because for googles algorithm it means that word is a target or "highly important" word. An example would be yourself googling "Where is the best Mexican restaurant near me? (Authentic) (Outdoor seating)"
Does anyone know of a third party AC adapter or mobile battery that will work with this? I've tried everything I own including a 65W USB-C charger that explicitly supports 12V/3A but it will not work.

The Nanote Next has the Intel Pentium J4205 and the only difference I can see is the Clock Speed is slightly higher and uses 10watts whereas the N4200 uses 6watts. I don't think the extra $100 is worth it...?
Hi I just bought mine and It was working until it went to sleep. I am not able to wake it up. The power light is blinking and I have tried to wake it up by pressing the power button, but it doesn't do anything. Also I tried the alt+control+shift+ b and didn't work either. Do you know anything else that i can do?
So i got mine today, I wanted to use it for email - resume sending and on the go stuff, I didnt expect much. Im only getting abouyt 20 mins on a battery charge. Is anyone else running into this?
sounds like your p8 might be running with high cpu usage, I recently found this thing to speed us older and slower windows computers. It's atlasos.net/ and it basically helps by removing unnecessary windows background stuff, my p8 has felt way smoother and the cpu usage has gone way down after using Atlas OS on it. Aside from that, you can make sure to use the battery saver mode within windows.
well after several charge cycles its now behaving like it should. And its pretty usable and does what i wanted to do. The usb port seems to just be for the custom charger. other wise i would just use the ssd. Runs ps1 games fantastic, not that i got it for that. its basicly and real laptop like i wanted. The ebay seller has been fantastic about it. @@JasonMaclane
@@woxlf Hi friend one question im thinking buying the nanote next with the ssd upgrade but i living in europe and here the chargers are diferent, can i charge this laptops with my mobile usb c charger or i gonna destroy the nanote with the voltage here?any advice?thanks
with the amount of specific drivers it needs, I doubt It'd be worth it. I found a website with some slides about it. Some of it is in Japanese so you might need to translate it. www.slideshare.net/kapper1224/wubi-for-ubuntu-2104-umpc-nanote-p8
The bios does have power settings, but given the lackluster documentation, aside from pushing the power limit a bit, I haven't tried overclocking much.
to those who wanted to install Windows 11 on this nanote go ahead and do it, it works like a charm!

you can run a program called AtlasOS to make the nanote run far better

the next has a ssd slot for easy expansion, the p8 has the pads for a surface mount ssd slot it but it could be dangerous to diy
