In Tuca and Bertie this song plays during an animation sequence where Tuca starts to fall apart at the hands of her lover. The bigger she gets, the smaller her girlfriend wants her to become, and ultimately she loses herself. The climax of the song starts when Bertie marches in with this big, fierce, red energy to pick Tuca up from the pits of shame, and remind her of who she truly is inside. I think that's what we should do as women. We are not each other's enemy. I love every woman watching this and I hope everyone has a Bertie in their life.

The title roughly translates to either "what you do" or "that thing you do" I'm not a Spanish speaker so I could be wrong. But according to the translations I've found online, the song is about an abusive relationship. So yes, it would definitely fit the scene from Tuca and Bertie perfectly.

@Adrian thanks for bringing this up. I have since went over to reddit and her twitter to learn more. I think she must have been conditioned to feel antagonised by men and white people somewhere down her life experience in Canada, something we don't know too well or are able to appreciate fully. Simply put, it always helps to put things in perspective when you consider a person's intended actions and explicit behaviour, especially those that are not deemed as equitable, sane and/or proper, as manifestations of the fear, distrust and/or frustration that he or she has developed over time against a certain demographic or topic. It could also have been her family upbringing and the things she has heard from her friends. I certainly do not condone her actions at the Halifax concert and feel that the organisers should have forewarned her, or any participating artiste in fact, against such partisan practices. I'm Asian so I'm effectively white, and if I were to have paid the same as all other concert goers, I would want a fair opportunity to get a better view of the stage as any one else, regardless of race, gender or nationality. Otherwise, it is important that the concert carry a disclaimer that certain artistes may be biased in their conduct, so that I can make a better decision as to whether I want to support it. That said, Lido's work remains very much respectable for me. A part of me tells me that at least some of what she has gone through, presumably the unpleasant fragments of her past dealing with men and white people and having to defend her own rights and place in society, are responsible for the sense of palpable resolve in her music. I can show reverence for she does for a living and for the state of the music industry, but that doesn't mean I will buy her albums and attend her concerts.
Quinn Lee I’d like to add she called for *women of color to the front* for a song, not “white people to the back.” white people weren’t the focus of that, that’s the whole point. It was for woc to have a moment where they feel included and celebrated, which almost never happens to us day to day in the US/Canada. And she comes from punk roots, where this isn’t an entirely new concept. In the 90s riot grrls (specifically Bikini Kill) started “girls to the front” at their concerts to give themselves a space in a male dominated scene. Calling for women of color to the front was probably inspired by that, likewise to make a statement and space that resonates w her. It’s to allow oppressed peoples a brief moment to shine, its not “against” the white man bc it’s not even concerning him-that’s the whole point-so it’s not a personal attack unless he feels affronted by the pit/stagefront not being dominated by white men for once. Princess Nokia does the same thing at her concerts for Young Girls, actually. So for anyone still crying over that (not saying you specifically), I suggest if you can’t handle people making statements like this, an artist like Lido Pimienta probably isn’t for you. There’s plenty of other acts out w nothing much to say at all, and plenty concerts w pits filled of white men shoving everyone else out, if that makes you more comfortable 🤷🏽♀️
