    Maybe you can try to remove old soldering from pcb with desoldering wick and than go to positioning and soldering chip, its a lot easyer. You shold try. When positioning a chip its easy to solder two diagonaly oposite pins to take chip in place and then do the rest of the pins.

    That was a very good video because it did not work right the first time.. I learned a lot , I am especially inclined to go with soldering by a tip as opposed to the hot air method. I don't mind if it is longer since I am a hobbyist. Thanks !

    cleaning the soldering iron tip might help to make soldering more successful/easier.

  • @victorzedwings
    @victorzedwings 6 років тому +9

    pin it by 1 or 2 legs with soldering iron, then solder all.
    you can easily position it also by removing leadfree solder and applying thin threads of Pb soldering paste. Chip will stay still.
    Also you might want to use bottom heater up to 100 or 120 C. It will make soldering easier and improve quality of soldering up to 100% each and every time.

    I prefer to hand solder those, rather than hot air. I do clean the old solder, and I add solder while drag soldering a whole side at a time. Ive never not soldered a pin that way.

    luckily that SIO doesn't require flashing....

    • @Gamersoft1124Pro
      @Gamersoft1124Pro 4 роки тому

      Victor Zed Wings: this super IO flashes itself, it takes the SIO (EC) Firmware from the SPI BIOS chip but some SIOs needs to be programmed manually. Some SIOSs are non- programmable and has a 2nd separate SPI chip on the motherboard for the SIO Firmware.

      Diego Andrade the sio is programmable through the keyboard connection via a avod, enit, rt908f programmer and you can get the ec bios from Dr Bios .com. Some laptops with external bios can function without programming the sio but not all functions are going to work.

    Way too many "Ads." I know they must "pay the bills," but very distracting. Would there not be some MOSFETs in that chip? If so, can they be destroyed by the static electricity from your body? (the gates, when you touch those pins.) Always thought that static protection must be provided when working with those chips. Thanks, enjoyed your video.
