ELO IS LIFE AND JEFF LYNNE IS A MUSICAL GENIUS!!! This song is from the album "Discovery" from 1979. Jeff did some Disco tunes on this album ( like this one) and so the album got the nickname of "Disco very". Keep more of this coming please. May I suggest some deeper cuts, "Tightrope", "Shangri-La" or "Sweet Is the Night", although you just can't go wrong with ANY song by Jeff and ELO!
Get yourself down that rabbit hole!! You will not be disappointed! ELO are 👌 I had the privilege to see them live at Hyde Park, London in 2015. Absolutely blew me away! Best gig I have ever seen in my life!! Watch it on UA-cam if you get the chance. It was the first gig they played together in like 30 years and the magic happened big time!! 👌
ELO is one of my favourite bands. I was a teenager back in the 1970s & a “sophisticated” 20 something in the 1980s. It was a great time to be young & the music was just incredible. I’m 60 now and it’s great to remember simpler times. In hindsight maybe us oldies took the music a little for granted? Each week we’d turn the radio on to hear more classic artists & sounds. I love watching your reactions & the pure joy on your face as you discover these amazing songs. God bless you x
ELO. The memories flow for sure. Me and my brothers were just kids back then. We would listen to ELO, Sweet, BTO, Boston, Rush, Led Zeppelin on and on. We had records and 8-track tapes. And once in a while we would go to a local roller-rink. Put on them skates and roll to all the fun tunes of those times. As fun as it is listening to these memories. it was even more special and fun back then. A special time it was.
One of the greatest bands of all time my friend and they have so many more that it will blow your mind. Hit after Hit after Hit. Keep them coming!!! Thanks
I could dance to just this song for hours! My favorite ELO song by one of my favorite bands!! JB, you won’t be sorry going down the rabbit hole of great music from the 70’s and 80’s. The music of these two incredible decades are the soundtrack of my life for which I am so grateful! ❤️. Your love of this amazing music means so much to me! It’s a real joy for me to go on this musical journey with you! Thank you for keeping this great music alive!
One reason the 70’s and 80’s music was so awesome is the fact it was actually Music, with musicians actually playing and mastering their own instruments. Instead of the auto tuned noise today.
Just saw him last year in concert - seriously best show I've seen!! Jeff looks exactly the same. He had a special guest.. Dhani Harrison, George Harrison's son. They sang a song that Jeff wrote for George. It was surreal. He tours a lot, you should check and see if you can find the next time he is in your neck of the woods and GO!
Such a great concert! I saw the July '19 Chicago show. So happy to finally see Jeff in person! And when Dhani joined Jeff, for "Handle With Care", heart warming 💕
A few personal favorites are (not in any particular order): Don't Bring Me Down Do Ya Evil Woman Strange Magic Sweet Talkin' Woman Turn To Stone Jungle Summer and Lightning Sweet is the Night
Welcome to the wonderful music of ELO! The lead singer is called Jeff Lynne he’s from Birmingham England he’s an absolute genius.! My name is Kevin Simpson I come from the same city in England I think he should be in the queens honors list !
So many good songs: "Can't Get it Out of my Head" "So Fine" "Sweet is the Night" "Twilight" "Strange Magic" "Turn to Stone" and the brilliant but rarely heard "Boy Blue"
Your such a sweet guy!!...You have an old soul..You are such an inspiration!!..I am definitely subscribing to your channel & I will tell others as well about your channel..Keep up the good work..
So good to see you! We missed you. We took these great songs for granted back then but looking back, the musicianship and composition of music at that time was just genius.
I rarely listen to a song for the first time and love it but this one was an exception. Heard it after I returned home one weekend night and loved it so much I wanted to go right back out and party some more.
It was the 70s. I was confused about the title. Thought I didn't know it but then I heard tune then it knew it. I was only a kid so how much does anyone remember before they were 10. Thanks James glad to see you x
Love your reaction. This song came towards the end of the lovely warm summer of 1979 and was taken from the amazing album 'Discovery'. You'd really enjoy 'Ticket to the moon', 'Here is the news', 'Standing in the rain', 'Wild West hero', 'Don't bring me down", 'Living thing', 'Twilight' or 'Mr Blue Sky (original video) which is probably the track they are most famous for. xx
I grew up in the era of the '60s and '70s. I can tell you that I, as a child, was spoilt for choice when it came to the music of those periods [and yes, I include the 80's in that too]. The fact that you are now enjoying the music that we, who grew up then, took for granted, is wonderful. You are making discoveries every day.
This is a deep rabbit hole but one fully worth it, there is so much to discover with them and it's all so enjoyable. Each of their albums tell a story. Not sure how many videos were made in the 70s, no computers, so they had to have the ability to do it like the first Star Wars movie. Most of these songs came out and people created the videos or edited normal videos once UA-cam came along. This album was released in 1979. Good seeing you again!
Don't leave out the 60s as they were the foundation for the 70s. This song always brings tears to my eyes. "I really want this night to last forever, I really want to be with you." Missing the love of my life.
Nice to have you back with good music ! :) - Please react to Marc Almond & Gene Pitney - Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart, or anything from Marc Almond ! And some Deep Purple, " Perfect Strangers " maybe ?
In thirty plus years of loving E. L. O. You are the second person i have ever heard them called elow. I knew you guys just see what everyone is retracting to.
Great combination of synthesizer and traditional instruments. ELO were masters of great music using a full band and orchestral instruments. Wish this stuff was still produced. But just love ELO and have done since the 70s.
honestly man, the 90's can wait. There's just too many great songs from the 60's,70's and 80's that it'll take you a lifetime to discover. trust me. those were and are the best decades of music in history. period.
I'm glad you are discovering ELO's music. There is a whole heap of songs that are brilliant, and you won't find them disappointing, because they are all different. A perfect example is the song 'Don't Walk Away', which is very emotive and powerful. Here is the link to the song on their official channel ua-cam.com/video/VChQ4Ru2B3M/v-deo.html
You won't be disappointed if you go down this rabbit hole.

Midnight Blue is my favorite
@@waynestumbo2408 ... That's a beautiful song! I was just relistening to it. I had forgotten that Richard plays lead guitar on that track.
@@unrulyjulie4382 we used it at my grandfather's funeral.
because Jeff wrote it for his terminal ill mom. we thought it was an apt song.
It really is amazing to see this old classic music is giving such pleasure. Such a pick me up man. Thank you.

I hadn't heard this one, either. Was good listening to this first, here. E.L.O. is freakin awesome.
My first time hearing this also and it's another good one from Jeff and the band
This is one of the first albums I got as a kid. Richard Tandy on the Fender Rhodes makes the tune!

The violins and cellos made E.L.O. stand out. I love the 70's and 80's too. You don't want to leave? Me either and that was MY era! 😁
Love this song, always makes you move/feel good. Love you and your channel, thanks for playing such good music! ♥️

Great to see you back, you were missed
One of my favorite ELO songs, I'm glad you did the video where you could see the band performing instead of just playing an audio version.
They have good live performances too, some of them recent, like the Wembley concert.
Jeff Lynne Singer guitarist songwriter producer GENIUS.♥️♥️🎼🎶🎵
Great Bass playing by the late Kelly Groucutt .
Great combination of synthesizer and traditional instruments.
