Messi's goal against Mexico changed everything. If you saw the match you know , the relieve of pressure on that point. It was incredible. The whole Argentina vibe resurfaced. Before that Mexico was defending very strongly.
I always tell people, this was the most important moment in the WC..the issue was not even the goal, but the person who scored it. After telling the fans they wont be left stranded, his teammates heard definitely..then going out there to prove it when Mexico was so determined to send them home...thats how a General/Commander instils hope and fighting spirit in his soldiers. And now the icing on the cake, the goal was special work of art.
Some thing weird in that part is that Argentinian Manager of Mexico didn’t put Edson Alvarez on that match specifically is the defender on that area, so it is a thought, and months before Tata Martino didn’t train with his player because it was playing Argentina in that time of the training 🤔
