    This is such a useful video and I’ll make sure to share it with my friends.
    As a food scientist, I’ve always had to explain the difference to people when they ask of my job.
    After telling them I’m a food scientist, I quickly buttress it with “I’m not a nutritionist”, before they start asking for nutrition advice 😂😂

      YES, I've had that same conversation so many times! Or, people think I'm a chef ;)

    HEY firstly I say thanks to you, and please provide any platform for questions and moreover how can one become food chemist if studied food science and technology in bachelors?

      Most of my experience is in the U.S., but here you can apply to most food chemists jobs if you have a bachelor's in Food Science. You could get a master's to specialise even more, but it's not usually necessary!

      @@AbbeytheFoodScientistwould you have changed your career choice?

      No, but when I was in college and trying to choose what to major in, I wasn't quite sure how food science was different from nutrition. I also saw a lot of classmates transfer from nutrition into food science or vice versa after they learned more about each major!

    Hi, Thank you for the wonderful video! It helped me greatly because I want to be a food scientist someday. I do have one question though. If the college I'm trying to has no food science major (undergraduate). Which one will be the best alternative major for graduate school? Will majors like chemistry or biochemistry be better than Nutritional Science?

    • @AbbeytheFoodScientist
      @AbbeytheFoodScientist  2 дні тому

      I would say chemistry and biochemistry are very good choices because you will take all the necessary science classes to get into grad school. Nutritional sciences actually doesn't have that much overlap. I would recommend any major where you cover all basic sciences.

    I want to ask a question.
    Can I study food science and nutrition in the university together

    • @AbbeytheFoodScientist
      @AbbeytheFoodScientist  2 місяці тому

      Yes, I think that should be possible. It'll depend what university you go to though. My university had separate department for food science and nutrition but some have them as one department. You could also major in one of them, and just take classes in the other to get an education in both!
