This video is very, very good. So simple, but so good today that we don't have this anymore, I've never even seen anyone use one of these personally, then I want to use one, or have something in 1095 or O1 (or O2, I forgot which one works) to be able to do this

Neat, Afaik this is because it is actually a piece of steel that is flying away as a hot spark, not the flint. By putting it that way it makes sense.

super helpful! do you know if there is any coating on regular stick type flints that needs to be removed? i have a hard time for the first 20 attempts and get baby sparks if any
