watching Mack you can see the immense talent I think he is still figuring out how to beat NHL defense and goalies but his creativity and speed on the ice is obvious. He will figure it out
As a Wild fan I was super impressed by everything he did. The ability to drive the play and create chances. Not just off the rush but in the zone. This video proves it. The eye test matches.
I was at this game and did not realize all the good things he was doing. Obviously everyone (including myself) will notice the 2 goals, but cool to see his thought process/reactions even when he doesn't beat the defense. Thanks for highlighting this!
i also watched his shifts only of that minnesota game, thought the exact same thing. Its nice to watch young prospects like this that have a solid 200 foot game and are or are on their way to being good overall hockey players not just circus goal scorers. this is what makes celebrini stand out to me. for an 18 year old he is doing great at both and its only gonna get better from here
Something that I’ve noticed as a Sharks fan watching most games is that on that first power play unit, Mack is really the only guy that can consistently get into the offensive zone and create space and time for a whole possession, Granlund can sometimes but Mack is the one that is always able to do it!
There is no doubt he is a more complete player than Bedard, just not as offensively gifted. Bedard will have the Art Ross but Celebrini will have the Hart and the Selky. It's funny, generational talent coming into drafts are always CHL players and it's factually just an opinion. Anyone who thinks Bedard is a more complete and better 2 way player than Celebrini are lying to themselves.
Idk about more effort. As a Hawks fan who watches every game Bedard never lacks in effort. Almost trying too hard sometimes. But I think he gets frustrated easily and expects too much from himself sometimes and his game ends up suffering because of it. His size is a weakness as well and he doesn’t always have the ability to go into a corner to battle to get the puck from the stronger players and right now his line-mates on the Hawks aren’t able to go get the puck for him. Celebrini looks to have a little more size/strength which plays to his advantage and maybe a little bit “looser” or less uptight personality. Bedard and Celebrini will both be great in my opinion but am hoping Bedard ends up the better of the #1 overall picks. The Hawks haven’t surrounded Bedard with a lot of help yet on offense and management/coaching doesn’t seem to have a good plan so far. Time will tell.
I wouldn't be surprised if Celebrini ends up being a more "complete player", but I also don't think we've seen anything close to peak Bedard in terms of the offensive numbers he's capable of. It will be fun to see them face each other in the coming years as they grow and develop.
It's not hate at all, it's factual observation. Bedard literally was tagged as generational talent by the media alike. Had Macklin chosen the CHL route there is no doubt he would have also. Celebrini is a more complete player to Bedard, just not as offensively gifted, but has elite offensive skills also.
They’re both studs. Let’s let them play it all out. They’ll both make names for themselves. No need to say who is better. Plenty of room for both of them. Signed, a sharks fan who also loves Bedard
yeah no michkov is more exciting and celebrini is more complete. we'll see by the end of the year who's adjusted the best to the nhl and im betting celebrini will be the guy.

As a sharks fan I haven't been this excited for a player in maybe 20 years
he'll be the best player SJ has since Jumbo, he's that good!
I was literally looking for this video yesterday. Thanks EP for reading my mind.
jack Thompson ahs looked pretty good too
Celebrini reminds me of a slightly faster, slightly smaller young Jonathan Toews.
Thats pretty close to his comp. Toews + crosby
Sprinkle in a lil Mckennon in there too. Just not as fast. Dude has it all tho
Macklin is too nasty with the puck. Cant wait to see this kid get more confident in his game at the NHL level.
it took bedard awhile to adjust to nhl calibre play i wouldnt doubt it would take him awhile too
Do an update video on Will Smiths game! He’s definitely trending in the right direction
reminds me of crosby idgaf
Big striker energy
He will be better than Bedard. More complete game, more effort.
i agree
Absolutely not

So much Bedard hate. They are different players and elite talent.
As a Sharks fan, I love Bedard. They’re just different talents. Both extremely good. Nasty good. Good for hockey
unforunately i think he will be much better than bedard

@@toshio6935wouldn't be surprised? Celebrini already is a more complete player to Bedard, just not as gifted offensively. However, not far off.
It should be noted that Macklin also has an excellent shot. It’s not Bedards, but it’s waaaay above average.
@@barnsey1607 even Craig Button said that, Celebrini is not far off from Bedard, offesnsivly.
As with every comment section, it’s now just all Bedard hate. You’re all just absolute losers

Most promising rookie??? There’s a certain Russian that would disgrace with that…
one that has been benched multiple times because his 5v5 and defense are so bad?
@@ryanbowlby859 yeah that one the cherry picker that has 6 breakaways through 10 games

Him and Stevie Wonder.
@@ryanbowlby859 same guy who had 2 points and the gwg in the so what did smallwini do that game?
Will smith sucks. Is Bédard the next zegras?
Smith is starting to come around. He needs to work on his game speed, which should come with time.
not every player is going to jump from the NCAA to the NHL. Smith had a lot of talent surrounding him at Boston. NHL not so much. He will be fine.
Smith is actually leveling up fine. He’s flashing his talents more and more. Hes going to be a stud for sure. He’s just not the same as Celebrini
