I drove it to town around 35 klm with no problem. Started it up 5 times with no issue and on the 6th attempt it would not crank. No communication with any module on the high speed bus. Disconnected the battery cable and reconnected and it started with all the com codes again as before so I'm still working on it. I'll post a followup video when or if I figure this out.
@@jamesl197999 I ended up removing and cleaning the plugs going into the PCM and TCM as I did with the other modules and it seems to be fine as it has not acted up since. The wavyness to the CAN appears to be normal as I have seen this on many GM trucks that don't have a problem.
Good video I got a 08 Cadillac Escalade ESV I bought last year and September it had some codes on it so I got a deal 🤝 I had to change the motor amount and brakes and rotors front tires and spark plugs and wires cleared the codes and only I had a airbag code and the stability comes on after I drive it for 10 minutes then I change the battery because it had a Ford battery in there 🤦🏾♂️ then later on I was driving the truck in the truck cut off on me at the light and it wouldn't start it will crank but wouldn't start so I went through the fuse box I did have one corroded fuse so I changed it and let the car sit for a while then it started and only let me go 1000 feet then it cut off but I wasn't too far from home it took me about six or seven times just to get home then I hooked up to my scanner and it said lost communication with fuel pump control module so then I order one online a dormant one because it was plug and play in no shop around can programming accept the Cadillac dealership and I will have to get it towed there so I got the dorman one in went to plug it in in I notice the connector was cracked so I taped it good in order a new connector but I put it in for now in the engine light cut right off as soon as I plug it in then 2 months later I started up in my gauges start going crazy so I cut it off and I scanned it and it said fuel pump control module and I was like I just changed it so I cleared the code and start the truck up and it was fine in a week later it came back on again so I just kept clearing the code then one day it just wouldn't start it would crank so I cleaned all the grounds in let it set until the morning then I started up and the morning in the gauges start to go crazy in locking the doors and unlocking the doors like before so I put it to the scanner and it wouldn't read anything it wasn't communicating with the computer so I changed the fuel pump control module connector pen by pin change the negative fuse on the firewall to the battery and changed out the wire pin by pin and it still wouldn't start so I unplug the connector underneath the steering wheel like you did that I watched from another video and the truck started right up and then I was able to read the codes and it said fuel pump control module then I start messing around with the code reader and found out the airbag left and right front was broken so I changed them and then I later on I had a throttle body code so I changed it and got it relearn and change the starter now I'm just waiting to go to the dealer because I ordered a new fuel pump control module a AC Delco one hoping that will solve the problem and I tried to plug it in 2 weeks ago why the car was running and it reset everything so I cut it off and it started for a whole week and when I was driving it cut off on me so I unplugged it again and put it to a scanner and it said something about cannabus but I'm thinking because I always over feeling the fuel tank because it cuts off at the pump early when I'm filling it up now but I cleared the code last night and cut it off and started back on and now I only have a fuel pump control module code so I'm just waiting to see what's next I have appointment on Monday
I want to get a scanner like you got but I don't know which one to get I'm only trying to spend between $600 to $700 on one that I don't have to keep buying updates every year
I have almost the same thing going on right now. Abs on, cylinder 2 misfire, all the lost communication stuff, and service 4wd. Going from 2-4 light blinks for a while, fine from 4hi-4lo and fine from 4-2
If you have an engine misfire that will generate U codes in the ABS for invalid data from the PCM. I don't think that would affect the 4x4 operation though. If you do a network code clear does the transfer case shift normally then? Is the transfer case setting any codes?
For transfer case I have a C0379 For trailer brakes I have a C0561, which has to do with abs, and a C1112. Could this be because i cut my trailer plug off and am now just getting a short ?
Yes, I have low voltage on one of the two wires that have power when in 2wd. Followed wiring up to plug in fender liner, it looks fine. Followed it a little ways past that and still looks fine. I also put a new actuator in and it didn’t help.
I have that same issue on my 08 gmc sierra, I have intermittent communication with modules, as soon as I try to go to the live data for the ecm the IPC needles go to zero/stop reading. I dont have a labscope so I don't know how the waves look. Sometimes I can connect to the modules and sometimes it just says No communication...and thats with the engine running. I already cleaned up the grounds next to the radiator Left and Right and also the one on the Right side of the engine. I get a bunch of the U codes-_- This is frustrating
You can measure can bus resistance at pins 6 and 14 of the DLC with the battery disconnected. It should be 60 ohms plus or minus 2. If its less the can bus is shorted. If 120 you have an open in the can lines. Try unplugging the ABS module and see if you have communication again. If this is a diesel it will run like that. If this is gas it won't because the fuel pump module is offline as its downstream of the ABS module. I've had ABS modules fail and cause this. Hope this helps
Also unplug ang clean the connections to the ECM and TCM under the hood. Use Deoxit spray on the terminals in the harness plugs and blow them dry. Them dielectric grease and reassemble. Good luck
@@PhillipBailey ok I can never test it while it acts up because it comes and goes, but i did get 60 before which I’m guessing it could be a module that’s randomly acting up? Correct me if I’m wrong and thanks in advance
Great video for me thanks a lot 🙏👍
It did look weird and wavy for a can signal. Did they still have any problem with the cluster since then? Was it normal?

@lukerichardson736 the C0379 is a code for a problem with the front axle actuator or wiring.

Would the c0379 have anything to do with abs?

@@PhillipBailey even if it is a intermittent issue the pins will always read 60 ohms?
@@MasterNeko if the wiring is not shorted or open then yes it should measure 60ohm +/- 2ohms.
