Command & Conquer (PC/DOS) "GDI" Missions 4-9, 1995, Westwood

Command & Conquer (C&C) is a real-time strategy (RTS) video game franchise, first developed by Westwood Studios. The first game was one of the earliest of the RTS genre, itself based on Westwood Studios' influential strategy game Dune II and introducing trademarks followed in the rest of the series. This includes full-motion video cutscenes with a notable ensemble cast to progress the story, as opposed to digitally in-game rendered cutscenes. Westwood Studios was taken over by Electronic Arts in 1998 and closed down in 2003. The studio and some of its members were absorbed into EA Los Angeles, which continued development on the series.

Whenever I see OG C&C & Red Alert I'm reminded of my 1st experience with Dune 2 from about the early 2010s I played out of curiosity to experience the birth of the modern RTS and thinking how primitive the graphics and gameplay systems were to the C&C games. You see, I hadn't played C&C or RA since the 90s and had massively rose tinted glasses - when I picked up the remasters and set the graphics to old-school mode I realized that these games looked just as primitive as Dune 2 and were probably all made from an updated version from the original Dune 2 engine. 🙃

Do you remember the name of a game that had ships, planes, and tanks. With a random generated map. I belive there a follow up that added bombers and more ground units.
It was the first of its kind that I remember that had a grand strategy.
I think it had Empire in the name.

Man, when i was a kid, around 2005/06, there was a game very, very similar to this Command and conquer. It had blue and yellow soldiers, but there we had also tractors who would go and take the resources like like this game. I searched all over the internet and i a couldn't find it. I'm not sure if what i saw in that time was another C&C version, but that game looked a little bit different.

You could try the "Command & Conquer Windows XP patch" found online. See if it works for your version or install DOSBox emulator for XP

Dude, same story, I found a original 3 cd version in mint condition!!! As Major commented you should be able to play it with a patch. Can't remember where I found it but I managed to play it. Btw you can still purchase the remastered version for current OS.

This player is awful. Just sends in waves of troops to get massacred by nod flamethrowers when he should be sending tanks and engineers.

Troops were more cheaper and faster to train and more effective on groups depends on the confronting enemy, but they are also easily to get runned over if you dont pay attention, then tanks are very slow to build and expensive, what comes to the enemy rocket & flamethrowers that's a different thing, yes few tanks would have been better choice to run them over first.
