I have the same setup on my 2020 GMC. The boost tube connections are definitely a week point in the set up. Blew one apart on the driver's side. You have to crank those clamps down as tight as they will go and then keep checking them.
Having to install the gasket on the air box is also not something Banks should leave for the purchaser to do.
I have done all of Banks upgrades also. 2021 GMC Denali. (Also Blue). My boost tubes blue off twice until I finally got it right . Love my truck.
Yeah they can be tricky! That’s awesome though. I’m glad they are working now & you cant beat this color!
What do mean you got right this time? It would be nice to share, I tow 18k 5ver and it would suck for it to pop while towing.

Impressions. It’s unfortunate you had some install pains with the blow out and subsequent ECM issues.
But as anyone who wrenches knows, stuff happens. It’s funny looking back at the little things that are forgotten or glossed over during a first time install of a new product-vehicle combo. Something as subtle as the feel of torque on a single clamp can be the difference of maximum performance, or a blow out.
But now more and more people know how, and that’s good for everyone.

That’s definitely what i wanted the take-away to be. “Hey don’t wanna be like that guy on UA-cam” lol. And double check those clamps are tight so more people get it right the first time haha
Wish I could afford a diesel someday, its crazy just how expensive they got :/

I put the cold air intake on my 2020 duramax and now showing a check engine light, code POOC7, and in limp mode. This happened the second time I started it.
Did you get the revised sensor module? they make a "version 2" if you will
Just turn off your air filter in the Dash control. Clean it every oil change and you'll be fine
I install the ram intake and got a little bit of droning at low RPM.. I'm debating if I need to do the booster tube to get rid of it

Im still thinking if I want to installed and have the same problem,your video is over a year old how’s works in your truck you have any problems at all? Any tips helps thanks

I added Banks to my LML Duramax and my performance went down.
I can't speak for the LML, We sell a lot of Banks for the L5P platform but not so much LML
Thinking about taking all my banks stuff off. It’s once a week if not more that it throws the check engine light. Put a scanner on it and shows no codes. I’ve put 10k miles and it’s been more trouble than it’s worth. Regret buying any of it
When you put this equipment on for the banks Derringer does it make your truck go faster then 98MPH
no it doesn't unfortunately ; you can do a few things to add on being able to go faster but as of now, you cannot

Curious now that you’ve had the air box and boost tubes for a few months, how is towing the camper? Any improvement in mileage?
Hard to say, I like the way it drives better now towing and unloaded. About 1 MPG gain but that's even hard to say without doing a controlled test.
So I've seen some comments that people have made regarding "getting it right" after having the tubes blow off twice, which is exactly what's been happening to me (3rd time just today), so what did you do to get it right? It seems to me that the tolerances are so tight that unless you have it up on a lift and can take apart some of the surrounding equipment in order to ensure essentially a perfect fit, they're just going to keep blowing off.
I just really cranked mine down tight and that did the trick it seemed like.
They can be kind of finicky to get installed

I see you have the original shock did you get the recall on them?
I got rid of those shocks a long time ago buddy. I threw them away. I heard about the recall but many just buy Bilstein 5100's from us to replace them anyways.
@@americanduramax I waited a whole 24k miles before the stock ones were leaking so I also switched up to the Bilstein 5100's. Night and day over the stockers.
Looks like you tow a 5th wheel camper? How was towing after all the mods? Fuel economy improve while towing?
Haven't towed with this lift kit yet, but i will soon and be sure to note that in the video!

Do you have any vibration in your gas pedal now that you’ve installed the intake?
Low RPM’s i feel the intake do that slightly at times. Feels more like a growl to me though

@@joeb.8625 I have no idea if Banks knows about it. It definitely makes the engine a bit louder/growl, the old resonator is to make the engine quieter so it makes sense it might cause this.

Yes sir! Which is nice since you can’t get any exhaust noise out of these trucks

These trucks have a intercooler correct? Has anyone upgraded it to get cooler charge temps closer to ambient?
I'm not sure about that, Intercooler upgrades were popular on the LML's and other years of Duramax but not much talk on these yet. I dont think the companies who make them for these trucks have made them yet or they just haven't taken off yet in sales.
why not edge pulsar v3 ?
I really wanted to try the whole banks package. Monitor egts, mpg, regens etc first before i try edge products to compare

Does it void warranty?
none of this should void any type of warranty. the dealers i have worked with over the years seem to understand this too.
for example. an larger intake filter isn't the cause of a failed transmission. typically this seems to work out just fine
the short answer is leave the truck stock if absolutely don't want to take any chances
What do u think of banks ?
2018 2500. Running ram air, boost tubes, intake elbow, and diff cover. Absolutely 0 issues. Put everything on around 70k miles at 111111 now. Waiting for warranty to be over then delete.
How were MPGs affected

Dude.... larger hot & cold side pipes will never give you faster spool up. That's not how it works. That's not why you would do it. But I'll digress.
I would assume it's for lower EGT's right?
What is even the point of wasting money on this? It does absolutely nothing. No sound upgrade no HP. nothing
They are limiting factors as you add horsepower, they are dyno proven to add power if you have custom tuning especially.
for stock, you get to retain power and cooling as you start to push the truck in towing or extreme situations
You are wasting your money buying premium DEF it's all the same shit.
It’s actually causing issues with these trucks when running platinum. I haven’t had problems but I switched over to the regular stuff ASAP.
