The marketing for those is really something else. I remember one interview with Matt Heafy in which he said something like, "They have lower latency." Like, WTF is that even supposed to mean?
@@svelle37 I remember that and i almost spilled my tea. i was like "dude, are you mental, do you even know what you are talking about?" problem is, that many artists often have no clue and they will tell everything the marketing team tells them to make the quick bucks in the end of the day, or keep their endorsement. thats why i dont trust any advertisements, no matter how good the artist is, i dont buy their advertisment without being very suspicious. Its pure cringe everytime you hear some unfactual and not true statements from professional artists.
@@svelle37 Yeah.. If he had any latency issues, it would come from his wireless setup.. lol. I remember him going on and on about how good it sounds when palm muting (while demonstrating), and there was this horrible "whomp" sound every time. Plus there's the "cocked wah" sound that's always there. They just don't sound good. Now, every well-known guitarist that uses them has a "signature" pickup set.. but they're all the same. Just EQ'd differently using software.
Corey is not only the most underrated lead guitar player. He is also one of the greatest people to have a conversation with. I'm really happy for Corey and all of his success. I can't wait to throw these in both of my Jackson Corey Beaulieu guitars.
Not sure why Corey isn't frequently mentioned on the conversation of one of the finest Metal guitarists of his generation. Trivium never failed to deliver phenomenal execution of progressive and thrash heavy music, and Corey's guitar playing is a significant reason behind driving Trivium to amazing heights. So glad he got his signature Blackouts.
he is fantastic! so many great guitarists like Corey go unrecognized but love the signature ESP Japan custom guitar! That along with the George Lynch and Andromeda are killer axes.
I met Corey at a show in Denver in 2009. He and I just chatted guitars for a good 20 minutes. Such a nice guy and so humble. Definitely one of the most underrated guitar players in the game. He will always be one of my favorite players, and he’s definitely one of my favorite people in metal. He’s a fucking badass. 🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
Great guitarist, I was never a massive Trivium fan in the early 2000s, but Corey and Matt's playing was always very impressive. I listened to their last album and was blown away by it, very, very good. I feel so stupid for sleeping on them for this many years! 😅
Bought a set of blackouts when they first came out. My then $300 guitar suddenly turned into a $1000 guitar in terms of it's jump in sound quality. These sound great (even better than my set)...may need to start saving for this set and install in my new guitar!!!
Curious to try these! I've tried the original blackouts and the EMTY set. I prefer the cleans on the EMTY set, but prefer the logo on the originals. These would be fun to swap my EMGs out with!
These sound great. I've got a Dimarzio tone zone in the bridge of one of mine which I'm a massive fan of. I've also got a set of fishman fluence in another and whilst I like them, I really have to dial them in to get a good sound. Might consider these in the future.
When will the Eric Gales pickups and these pickups be released? There are a few shops on Reverb claiming they have the Eric Gales pickups in stock while I pre-ordered them from ZzSounds
I'll definitely give it a try, I use BKP Juggernaut since years now, and I love the ceramic/alnico mashup, and was thinking about a active kind of pickup ! I have a KV7 with Juggernaut, it's clear that this Corey's signature axe get a Damocles set in it !
I bought a set last month, they sound nearly identical to the original BO i have. A slight difference but, not $290 difference. I replaced the original BO set i had. It is what it is. Dont get me wrong, i like the sig set but, was not blown away by this set by any means. Fishmans are better but, i respect this fella for sticking with SD.
Once I tried Blackouts AHB1 never looked any other direction. They just growls! No other pickup match that sound. Been playing Blackouts for almost 10 years now. Might give Damocles a try.
Shot in the dark here but I can still order the mick Thomson ones? Or at least a custom made pick up that might sound like it lol? Or do I just bite the bullet and get these?
@@seymourduncan I appreciate you dropping a hint about an upcoming product like that, even if it potentially means making a little less money since the person might not buy a custom shop set after all.
The most underrated guitarist around, his sound is amazing, so pleased for him on these signature blackouts ❤️🔥
I appreciate the fact that Corey never jumped on the Fishman bandwagon

If it sounds good, it is good. The Fishmans are popular for a reason. They can afford the marketing budget because people like them.

Fishman Fluences sound like an AI-generated guitar sound. So artificial, so sterile, so bad.

I gotta try these. Blackouts are among my favorite active pickups. 🤯🤯

Corey is one of the most under rated metal guitarists of the last 20 years. Can't wait to pick these up!
First I bought Matt Heafy's Fishman Fluence pickups, now I gotta buy Corey's Damocles SDBs!
Finally! Looking forward to the new EQ

I cannot wait to put these pickups in my Jackson RRx24 🤘😤🤘
Really underappreciated player.
Just purchased the bridge pickup last night. Can’t wait to try it out when it arrives. Been looking for a new pickup and this is right up my alley
Hope you enjoy it! Tag us in any videos you post with sound samples once you get it installed!
Finally, congrats to Corey👊
Very well deserved, for sure! Can't wait to try these out in one of my guitars!
glad that he back using real amps and pedals, and those pickups sound killer!
These sound great
I can't for these to be on Corey's signature! They're awesome!
Might have to swap my EMTY Blackouts for these
Blackouts are fantastic pickups. 👊
Happy for him. He's a great player :)
He's unreal!
I see that Brandon Ellis signature hanging out on the wall back there ❤

Hey Steve, our Custom Shop is hard at work getting the Eric Gales set built and sent out to retailers like zZounds!

Interesting video. Thanks from Sweden! 🙋🏻♂️
I love his tone! Not a bright chimney, but Beautiful articulation. Love the low end! ❤❤❤
how do these compare to EMG high gain low noise active pickups?
I’m still liking the emgs and black outs over fishmans
Fishmans are overrated. They also eat batteries fast as well
Was his EQ set up like Dimebag's (maxed out at 800Hz)?
It was pretty subtle cut on 100 and 200 and a little extra on 1.6k. He was using an MXR Six band EQ pedal at the time.

BTW in this song rythm parts recorded with AHB1. ua-cam.com/video/Wk4f3Otvmbc/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Refleksija

I wanna know how these will be different from the old EMTY pickups
Keep an eye out for later this month for something a bit closer to those!
Where's the rain playthrou? 😅
❤
Those inlays look so small
Inspired by the second guitar Jackson made for Randy Rhoads (the black one).
By custom EQ he means absolutely no mids lol
He literally mentioned a mid boost, champ.
