    My wife Nancy and I have been building out our UA-cam studio and could you believe it's finally finished! I just have to move the piano in there this week or next and set up the tech stack. It's been a long haul. Anyways, the good news is once it's set up I'll be able to start delivering the MASTERCLASSES!! So do sign up to be notified jazzmentl.com/jazz-piano-monthly-masterclass/. Thanks to all JazzMentlists who have helped us get to 6500 subs this week. That's special news. And we are almost ready to deliver Livestreams on a consistent basis as well. If you haven't hit the BELL to be notified of when new videos drop, please do so now. And stay in touch with me through the community! - With much gratitude 🙂 - Paul

    Been on doctor's and wife's orders to take it easy. Still listening all day every day but next week back on the 88's in that special place with that special space. Glad you got the studio together. Thanks for the post.

      Glad to hear you are on the mend. I hear in your post how much you miss playing. Time away from the piano can be good for the soul. But I do very much appreciate how you feel 🙂. The studio has come together - thank you. It still needs some love. All in its own good time. In the meantime, you take care of you!

    The trick with using circle 5th to reach the end chord is brillant. I was doing it intuitively but it was often hit or miss - now that I know what works I can make it work more reliably 🙂🎶🎹

    Nice material, thank you. Only thing is the one little mistake in the description - pedal note chapter time is same as 4th's voicings. It should be 19:11, no 09:11

    When you say to add pianistic things like you did over the Eb chord. can you explain more about that? does this mean things like runs and arrpeggios?

    • @Jazzmentl
      @Jazzmentl  Рік тому +1

      Yes. When you sit on a single chord for a while, a couple of bars for example, use runs, licks, chord inversions, rhythm, and even arpeggios. Though be careful with arpeggios, too much can make you sound cocktail. Pianistic means things that you can do on the piano that you can only do on the piano vs other instruments.
