Do you have this laptop? What do you use to edit your Unreal Engine 5 projects?

Hey bro, i used msi laptop over 6 years, they realy doing soo good.
But the gpu and heat is laptop killer. Its deforming laptop day to day... i decided to never buy laptop that have intel or nvidia processors. Soo i prefer mac pro or w8 for better versions of snapdragon proccessors...

I agree, the heat is just too much! Nice! Yeah those are great!

I have a quick question, would you need to keep it plugged in order to maximise the performance of the RTX 4070?
I have a P75 with a RTX2070 on it and in order for me to edit a video with maximum output, I need to keep it plugged in. If it does not get plugged in, the performance lags.

Yes, same for me! It uses a lower wattage on battery so to fully utilize the 4070 you will need to keep it plugged in. 🙂🙏

I bought one of these and the performance is decent, but nowhere near as fast as a 4070 laptop GPU should have, because the GPU is power-starved. It's a 115W GPU but it's been hard-limited to 55W (presumably because of thermal issues in a small chassis). It's a bit faster than a 4050, but not as fast as a 4060 should be.

Sorry to hear that! Have you switched to another laptop?

I use my desktop computer to edit my projects, but maybe I should give this a try! Great review!

That sounds great! It won't most likely replace your desktop, but a great mobile alternative. 🤓

wow i use everyday for Unreal an Asus Strix 17 with 16GB vram and i feel it is already too little vram. doesn't that bothers your work? (probably i'm really bad optimizing). Battery life is just not a thing

Cool! What year is your Strix 17? So far that hasn't been an issue with the scenes and projects I've worked on. I do work quite optimized overall, only loading levels I'm actively working in, not working in Cinematic mode etc so there might be a difference once I switch to heavier stuff - we'll see! 😄🙏

@@tiedtkeio i guess 2020 model, it have a Ryzen 5900HX, 64GB DDR4 and a 3080 mobile with 16GB VRAM. It is a quite usable laptop, but i work doing cinematics for mining industry and polycounts for me are usually from 50M to 100M, so trying to render 8K panoramas or even 6K sequences can be a challenge 😅 BTW, Thanks for the Splinetool you have made. i use it every day! (and i have even modified it to add head and tail static meshes)

@@ReinaldoGonzalezreix2x Yeah that sounds like it should do the trick 😄 But yeah that sounds a bit heavier than what I ran for my tests. 🥲

    Does it bottleneck doing gaming?

I depends on which game you talk about I guess, but I tried Forza Horizon 5, Fortnite and GTA V and those worked great. No bottle necking at all. 🙂
