The full Akra system was about $1,700 from RevZilla. Labor for install at Moore Mafia was around $700 and the tune was $650. Add another $300 for the air filter and misc parts.
Just got mine installed last week, really like the sound with the db killer out. One thing I noticed is the way the exhaust gases smell now, pretty strong since there isn't a catalytic converter anymore. Does yours have strong exhaust smell after the tune?
I'm interested to know how they got the DB killer out - Chris' team would have had to remove rivets or cut into the exhaust can. To answer your specific question, yes to smell.....the fragrance of freedom!!!! "Murica
The exhaust smell shouldn't be particularly strong. With tuning and proper fuel mapping you should be running exactly correct stoichiometric ratio in your particular elevation. If you're smelling cold-start exhaust, that's one thing. Factory runs lean most times anyway. With the catalyzer installed, the smells are generally modified.
@lifted_above Even with proper fuelling it has a unique smell that's much much more obvious (and stronger than with cats/stock muffler). So not really the same as what I said.
OEM air filter or aftermarket? I’m sending my ecu to Moore Mafia tomorrow, wanted to make sure they have a tune for my set up. Akrapovic full exhaust system and K&N air filter
@@jasonfararooei5722 It is not really a problem just something I noticed. Upshifts are fine, downshifts could be better. Curious as to what Moore charges for a dyno tune by itself if you do all the install work on headers and exhaust. I am considering just an ecu tune with an end can and better air filter. I am sure the fueling and unrestricted mapping would still make this a far better bike than stock.
Hey Jason. I'm getting to send my ECU to Chris for a flash om my 20'. Little different system, I have the factory headers with a cat delete pipe from Max Torque and a Leo Vince Factory S end can. I really like the way your tune turned out. If it is ok I would include your name and approximate date of the video to Chris so he can tailor the flash for my app. Just looking for rideabilty more than top end. Thanks in advance and ride safe!
Congrats buddy, you'll love it - it's a totally different bike after the tune/flash. Yeah man for sure include my name. Chris was great during the process and I learned a lot from him. Let me know how you like the flash! Also you doing the decll cut delete? Best wishes my friend.
@@jasonfararooei5722 Thanks for the quick reply. Yes Sir definitely doing the decel cut delete as well as getting rid of the throttle restrictions and getting a fuel map to match my mods. @@DB-so8zc How is the modified tune working for you? I was thinking of the exact same setup as you from Max Torque. How was the install and cutting the header to make the cat delete work? Thanks

I have put at least 10k miles since the mod with zero issues. As far as the deleting the cat/resonator I removed the header from the bike. Hi Jason, looks like you still have the DB killer in, is that right? It still sounds pretty good with it in. I have a full system on order and am hoping for a good sound improvement without the need to remove the db killer. Yours sounds pretty good.
Congrats on getting your new system, exciting. You'll love it I'm sure. You are correct, we left the DB killer in. I was on the fence about taking it out then, and if I look back I'd still be on the fence about it today. It def sounds a million times better but I often wonder if I should have taken it out bc I think it would sound just right with the DB killer out. @@jasonfararooei5722 Thanks very much for your comprehensive response. I'm not looking for it to sound over the top but I do hope it's a significant improvement on stock. I know that a slip on with the cat still in place makes almost zero change, did you find that the full system was at least a bit better than that? Thanks mate.

@jasonfararooei5722 Jason, thanks again for your valuable time responding. I've now watched your video many times 😀 . I think the full system with the silencer in place will be sufficient for me. I'll share some media when it's done. Thanks again mate.
It should in theory. With the gearing it should max at 159. This bike can REALLY benefit from taller gear ratio’s, with different sprockets and the tune/exhaust 160+ shouldn’t be out of the question
Hey Jason, with the tune is the bike still somewhat tamed? I have one as well, but haven’t been riding long and like the fact that it doesn’t want to stand out under hard throttle. Does Chris’s tune change that? Or did you ask him to make it easier to wheelie or not to. I’m sure he can tune it either way, just curious. Thanks and ride safe!
What's up Adam, I hope you're well. In short, the tune absolutely unleashes the power of the bike. In all the modes minus Rain, you've got access to the entire motor and ecu tables in an unrestricted format. This is why I would def not classify it as tame, and call it the exact opposite. And this is where traction control and custome rider modes come into play. The lowest TC setting resides in sport mode and will let the bike wheelie throughout gears about an inch and that's it (it works incredibly well and is very consistent and reliable). I imagine you could ask Chris or your tuner to (for lack of better way to say it) set your tables to say, 80% or 90% rather than completely unrestricted but if you've got access to rider modes and custom settings, my thinking is why limit yourself at the ecu, make the power refinements at the rider mode levels, since you yourself have control over that. I will say it's a very different motor and bike after the tune. When you get on it, it will naturally wheelie through third. I will also say in sport and custom mode I have a lot more respect for the bike - give the tires a lot more time to be at temp and am very choosey about road surface quality when I do give it the sauce. Side note - I opted for the decel cut delete and am pleased with it. I know a lot of guys are hesitant to do it, but I like it a lot. Overall I'd absolutely do this whole process again with the bike if I had to do it all over again. I hope this helps. Happy riding my friend.
