✨STORY✨
Once upon a time there was princess.
The fairest of them all, who defeated a dark evil and went onto live happily ever after.
But what happens when you are no longer the fairest?
What happens when the one thing you attribute your worth to is stripped away forever?
We pick up with Snow White where the film left off. The Evil Queen is dead and Snow White has just woken up after being kissed by her Prince. They all celebrate and return to the castle where they get married and all expect to live happily ever after… except this is a villain story and those don’t end happily.
Following the inevitable death of the Evil Queen, Snow White inherits all of her worldly possessions, her throne, rooms, clothing, spell books, potions, jewellery and her Mirror…
Now some would say the Mirror was an innocent bystander in all this, simply answering the questions it was asked. But what if I told you the Mirror had an agenda of its own? Whispering into the ear of its owner…
Snow white was named the fairest of them all but after having been betrayed by her step mother her heart isn’t as pure as it used to be, she’s grown bitter, and distrustful of the people around her. The mirror becomes her closest confidant and the mirror knows exactly what buttons to press to see Snow White fall to the dark side. Regardless, Who can resist a mirror that can answer any questions you might have?
After a few years those same questions began plaguing Snow White, and who can really blame her? It was what she had always been most celebrated for… And so mirror, who is the fairest of them all?… the cycle begins again.
First thank yous! Ben you are the best and one of the most talented beans I know! Thank you SO MUCH for arranging this song and working with me on this. Snow White may very well be the trickiest one we’ve put together and you made it sound SO COOL.

Plot twist: The mirror just does that whenever it feels bored. They were never the fairest at all. The mirror just chooses random girls and pits them again each other.
(But in all seriousness, I love that it implies that The Evil Queen did all of this because being the fairest is all she ever had too)
I'd love to see that idea explored! Especially since I personally believe there can never be a "fairest" of anything, when there are so many different ways to be beautiful or handsome. We've all known people in real life who drove themselves nuts over perceived physical flaws that were only viewed as bad in very specific times/places/subcultures. What if a serious villain were to weaponize that human weakness?
It could also be a commentary on how societies pin women (especially powerful women) against one another. Maybe Snow's story would be breaking the cicle of becoming the farest and slowly turning into the villain of the story when someone else takes their place as the farest. This would be even more obvious as the mirror is conically male. If women were to group together men wouldn't stand a fucking chance.
Also, maybe we could get more backstory on the evil queen beyond what Disney has already put down because, honestly, I don't like her backstory. It would make more sense that she became obsessed with her fading beauty, and the mirror simply used it against her to simply fuck with them. This thing has no morals, obviously, so maybe it operates the same way fea in mythology do. No evil plans or anything , just bored and in need of gossip and drama to spill

I love the idea that Snow White inherits the Queen's insecurity, especially if she ever gets the idea that she was loved because of her looks. It was her looks that stopped the Dwarves and the Huntsman from killing her in the movie. And the idea that the mirror was guiding her actions, making the Queen just a victim in a long line of victims.
In the original story the mirror was actually forced to tell the truth yes it could omit facts to make it seem much more bad or good to boost or take away from those who spoke to it.

It could be like one of those "generational traumas" type deals where each "Evil Queen" was once the "Fair Princess" stepdaughter to the one before. I think something like that was hinted at in the Snow White films with Charlize Theron. Like, the Magic Mirror always needs a host of sorts to do as it wants.
Theory: What if the royal family is under a generational curse?
We often assume that the mirror was brought to the palace by the Queen, but perhaps it was always present in the queen's chambers.
Centuries ago, a corrupt king abducted and wed a young girl, obsessed with her youth and beauty. Unbeknownst to him, the girl was a sorceress. Under the King's orders, she was subjected to brutal "education" to fulfill her role as Queen. Though many were aware of her plight, not a soul reached out to her, too afraid of invoking the King's wrath.
Every night, the King visited her chambers. He beheld her as though she were a work of art, a trophy, some beautiful object that was his to own. Over and over, his whispered words haunted her: "You, my dear, are the fairest of them all."
Slowly but surely, the girl wasted away, unable to escape the King's clutches-but she left him a parting gift. A large, ornate mirror that stood at the far end of the queen's chambers. The King, blinded by its beauty, did not think to question the stunning item. But its true nature soon came to light.
The King's second marriage was an idyllic storybook affair. The new Queen was a fierce, clever noblewoman, praised across the land for her skill and character. However, soon after the marriage, she began to change. The once-wise Queen had started to obsess over her looks, demanding the most expensive dresses and jewelry to adorn herself with. She threw grandiose parties and had the nobility laud and celebrate her. Her reckless actions and growing disinterest in the kingdom eventually turned the people against her.
At the insistence of the Royal Court and under threat of rebellion, the King abdicated his throne. The beloved Crown Prince succeeded him, bringing new hope to the kingdom. His wife, a kind and gentle woman, became the next Queen. However, disaster struck once again. Initially bright and cheerful, the Queen slowly lost her spark, becoming gloomy and withdrawn. In the privacy of her chambers, she brooded over her beauty, coming to believe that her appearance was inferior to other women and that her husband would soon leave her for someone prettier. In the dead of night, she silently took her life.
The phenomenon continued throughout the years. At times, it was relatively mild-lavish spending and an incessant need for validation. In other years, it bordered on insanity. The Kings summoned countless healers, magicians, and wise men to identify the cause... but none were able to. The mirror's enchantment was nearly impossible to detect, and it tricked those who knew of its existence into believing it was harmless.
Generation after generation fell victim to the curse of beauty. Fearing the end of their bloodline, the Kings diligently hid the truth of the curse from those outside the palace. The last King, whose first wife had refused treatment and died of sickness, thought to marry a woman from a different land in hopes that she would be spared. His new Queen was strikingly beautiful, her sculpted features and icy gaze making her, undeniably, the fairest in the land.
Unfortunately, the King soon passed, and his young daughter, Snow White, was left in the care of the Queen. The Queen initially treated her well; unable to become a warm mother figure, but kind to her nonetheless. Yet the mirror's whispers tainted her mind as it did her predecessors. Fearful of Snow White's potential, the Queen ordered her death. Yet it seemed that fate was on the girl's side, as she survived and later stormed the palace to usurp the Queen.
Snow White married a foreign prince who had saved her life and became a just and benevolent ruler. She drew upon both her royal blood and her experience among the common people to manage the kingdom, leading it into a new era of peace and prosperity. But as her kingdom flourished, the mirror called to Snow White, the enchantment embracing her like the arms of an old friend. As it had done countless times before, the mirror whispered sweetly to her.
"You, my dear, are the fairest of them all."

To be honest, I never thought Snow White only ever had beauty, I don’t remember her caring much about it from the original story, she cared much more for being loving and loved, caring and cared for, and her true beauty was in her kindness and ability to work hard while still being sweet and merry. But this is a villain edition of this character, so why not? It would be an interesting spin on her story, the way her stepmother rubbed her insecurities on her. And the role you gave the mirror is kinda brilliant, it being the actual villain, luring women into the darkness… Chills.
Yes, but the environment she was in probably made her think she was nothing more than her looks and in this "au" of the story i wouldn't put it past the mirror to manipulate her further into thinking so

That and I feel it's also related to how mothers can give insecurities to their daughters as a twisted legacy .

-Cinderella, stealing her Fairy Godmother’s wand to get revenge on her abusive mother
-Tiana, becoming corrupted by the Friends on the Other Side
-Belle (idk what the story could be)

-Merida, forced to kill both Mordue and her mother, watching her brothers fall as collateral, grieving as she releases the bear cubs into the wood
-Wendy, joining the pirates or turning the Lost Boys against Peter Pan
-Esmeralda, sends the priest to his death herself, or offers to be with him, using his weakness to rally the other gypsies to other throw him

I love this idead
The voice of this two is just beyond beautiful and haunting as it can lure anyone to be enchanted by it and the harmony is drop dead gorgeous it's literally an eargasm. The transition of poor Snow trying to avoid and deny the fact that she's slowly turning and following the Evil Queen's step is just low-key chilling, it's no wonder how the voice of the mirror can get one trapped in their own desire and avoidance for something they truly known for but really who can blame her? Aging can literally make anyone twisted or blessed depending on how the said person handle such fate. Great job with the story and the song, honestly it hit deeper with this one due to how relatable the struggle can be.
Imagine if she goes to "take care" of the new fairest of them all- who turns out to be a ginormous fan of hers.
Would honestly be a coin flip from there on whether or not Snow White finds it amusing and becomes best friends with that person and just covers up the mirror.
Or she might think the person is mocking her and well, the worst case scenario ensues. :'>
I like the uniqueness of the backstory! Most of the stories involve something else happening that altered the core story but this is like a sequel to the original story!
You know, I was really hoping for Anastasia, but I’m excited for Snow! She really is overlooked by other princesses, and although she’s not my personal favorite, she deserves a better spotlight.

You know, this plot here, with the spirit in the mirror being the secret villain and slowly manipulating and twisting Snow White, reminds me a lot of the Serena Valentino novel Fairest of All because that exactly what happens, except to the Evil Queen, Grimhilde. It's a really good novel just like this is a really good song! I'm looking forward to more Disney Princess turned Villain songs!
I can't wait for your version of an evil Cinderella! I feel like she's the most likely to become a villain due to having her home stolen, her father dead, and years of mistreatment by her cruel family. Most people don't leave abusive situations like that and stay kind or pure hearted. It would also be interesting if marrying the prince did not end up well. They only known each other for one mere night after all. He's basically a stranger to her. It's also very scary that he searched the whole town to find this one girl despite her running away (signaling to most guys that she's not interested).
Thats a cool idea, I was personally thinking what if it follows the same plot as the third movie except her mouses weren't able to save Cinderella from exile and Anastasia sucessfully married the prince which ends up being the start of Cinderella's villian arc.

If so, I think it would be best to not involve all of that time jumping and stick to the true story as close as possible with a few a villain twists.
I also like the idea that when Cinderella marries the prince she finds out her step family are still trying to steal her Happily Ever After and as a princess plots to crush them

If Snow White was a villain, she would definitely follow in her stepmother's footsteps by wanting to be the most beautiful in the entire kingdom, eliminating her competition.

At the 2:00 mark, she seems to remember what her mother did as horrible, and sounds like she wants to find a different method to remain the fairest
From there she goes on to seek an alternative method, like a spell to make herself the fairest of them all once again
I actually see her becoming more psychopathic due to the level of abuse the Queen inflicted upon her. Ironic too, as I recently just saw a movie called Pearl (2022), where the character, Pearl, has dreams of something more than her farm life. But despite this, her mother keeps shutting her dreams down, while also subjecting Pearl to frequent verbal and physical abuse. The opening scene literally has her talking to the animals like how Snow White and Cinderella do, with whimsical music in the background making you think that she'll break into song. Similarly, Cinderella (Or Ella) was abused and does a lot of farm chores, while talking to the animals about her dreams. They're kind of the same until you realize that if you've actually seen the film.....

.... Pearl is a psychopath, suffering from either schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Although I think one can argue that this was the whole point that the director of the movie was trying to make. That realistically, most children who've suffered abuse when they kids would not really be all idealistic like the tales of Snow White or Cinderella or have such a sane moral compass that doesn't have any of their trauma get in the way of the choices they make, especially if they aren't looking at the bigger picture of the situation. Just like how Pearl does and sadly ends up falling victim to her own actions.
The mirror being the true evil is a great twist.

Another excellent princess villain song, the duet by you and Anna superb. It really has a gentle, spooky ambience that makes it feel like the mirror's words are creeping into our ears like they are Snow White's, moving her toward the path of the queen despite what Snow thinks otherwise. It's also quite sad in how the mirror spells out how beauty doesn't last and how this basically is a losing battle, but the way it tells Snow pushes her to find some way anyhow that will end in tragedy.
The fact that Snow White has had her whole life defined by her fairness really would mess her up a bit, from the queen trying to kill her for it and now having to face losing that beauty to age. It makes me wonder what would happen in the story if another fair princess like Sleeping Beauty were thrown in. How would the queen and Snow react to that?
People often look at the early princesses as boring because they don't have as much screentime or development. But I enjoy paying close attention to the small details to get more out of them and make new stories from those elements.
I think you’d enjoy then UA-cam channel Pattycake Productions Villains Lair Series(up to series 2 now and That’s All(Evil Queen and Maleficent)is my favourite song in the both series), it’s original songs about the Disney villains plotting together to get their revenge and if you love attention to tiny details Layne Stein and Tony Wakim pay such attention to details, this series with the songs attention to details reminds me of Villains Lair
What if Evil Queen was the same way when she was young and Snow White just repeated her fate? That's deep....
Would adore a Cinderella one based in "So This is Love?" where she marries the prince and then finds that he's a cheating louse. So this is love?
You almost got it right
My take on this:
Snow White had a daughter and her daughter grew up to be more fair than her mother, therefore making her 2nd place. Therefore when the mirror says the story starts again anew, it means Snow White is going to kill her daughter just like how The Evil Queen tried to kill her stepdaughter Snow White. Then, the daughter will overcome her mother, and become queen. The mirror, whispering into ears of the owners will whisper into Snow White's daughters ear. The daughter will become obsessed with her beauty, having a daughter as well. The daughter also grows to be more fair, the mirror telling Snow White's daughter the same words he told the once pure Snow White. Overgrown with anger, the daughter of Snow White goes to do anything to get her beauty back, going to kill her daughter. And so? The cycle never ends.. Generations of daughters befalling the same fate as Snow White did, losing their worth to their daughter. They go on to kill their daughter, only for their daughter to kill them, become queen and fall to the words of the so called "innocent" mirror. The daughters descending into madness, as all the mirror did was watch. All the mirror did was watch the chaos ensue every generation.
I am from a country where English is not my native language and I remember that I saw a comment under some video (in my native language) and they wrote something similar to this
I mean what else is there to say, two singing powerhouses coming together. I think we all knew that this was going to be amazing but holy shit it still warrants saying it. Lydia, you, Anna and Reinaeiry are my favorite singers. Your style especially is unique to me bc of the storytelling aspect behind it. What's even more is that this satisfies many people curiosity of the "What if" in such a brilliant way bc of how much care and attention is put into everything.
Now I'm going to listen to this about 3 more times. Can't wait for next week!
Two Princesses I would love to see is Cinderella singing “A Dream is A Wish Your Heart Makes” but creepy music box and just broken glass shards making the wind whistle in the background (from her glass slipper of course) and just see this girl who was kind and strong in all of the abuse she endured just s n a p and not even her fairy godmother can help her now. Like I want to see that. And the song is so beautiful and to see it become heart breaking my evil, I would die for that.
And as for Anastasia, “Once Upon A December” is already a haunting melody, in this villain version she would have died with the rest of the family but is half dead herself like Rasputin, and is tied to the music box, and now is haunting and possessing people who come in contact with it, trying desperately to reach and grandmother but every one she possesses goes insane and dies, and her recent victim is Dmitri, who is being plagued by memories of a ball he once snuck into and the disturbing cut to imageries of a girl who looks like he tried to save. And she’d be all frozen except for this one tiny ember lighting up her hollow ghost figure, as she has truly become her lullaby, for that’s how people who own her music box die, freezing to death in a watery grave like she did, or suffering burns of the flames that burned her and family down.
After that song I realized, that the mirror is the main villain. It was just a subject, who said the truth and it was about the inner beauty.
That mirror can tell how to defeat everyone, who is smarter than the Snow White. It wants bloody and evil things.
Brake the mirror and evil can disappear.
Well, now I need a very bloody and scary fandfic where the mirror tries to defeat every beauty in front of him and make her evil.

It adds a spin on the original Snow White story, not just a different ending. It shows that history will keep repeating, the evil Queen in the original movie might not have been the first "fairest one" and fell into evil like so many did before her.
Snow White as a villain is kinda scary and frighteningly cool at the same time! Great job! Can't wait to see the next one!
I’ve always been a fan of twisted fairytale stories, so when this popped up on my recommended, I HAD to listen to it. I think it’s safe to say I’m obsessed with this and all your other villain princess songs!
Yet another amazing villain Disney princess song! I love these dark twists on classical fairytales/Disney movies! In particular I like the idea of the mirror having its own agenda and being somewhat evil itself, provoking those that use it towards darkness and evil. Another idea I had (which I thought was pretty cool) was the mirror being evil/cursed to make those that gaze into it for too long or too often become corrupted and give into the sin of vainglory. It basically subconsciously brainwashes people to become more vain and obsessed with beauty, and envious of those that might threaten their status. In any case, awesome song and glad I got here early for once!

Makes perfect sense - even more apt since in real life (ok, the movie is NOTHING like real life, given Rasputin was a friend of the royal family and was dead before the October Revolution anyway, but disregarding all that...) the reason the Russian royal family were killed was because of the fear amongst leading communists like Lenin that the royals would recruit support from other European monarchies to violently overthrow the new regime and reinstate the royal family. The family themselves, by all accounts, weren't trying to do this, but there were a bunch of Russian monarchists who were absolutely prepared to start a new civil war in Russia for the sake of reinstating feudalism and "putting the upstart peasants back in their place".
Anastasia taking revenge on them and trying to take her throne back would be the perfect example of a threat realised, and a plan backfiring horribly.
This is so good! And the mirror being the one behind it all by manipulating whoever reflects on it is a great idea, now I wish they made a movie based on it

She lives happily with Kovu and Zira becomes like family to her. But one day Simba comes looking for her and thinks that Zira hurt her. He and his pack kill Kovu and Zira. Kiara, not knowing what to do, runs away again. After some time the sadness turns to anger. She gathers Zira's followers and plans revenge. She will overthrow Simba and avenge her loved ones. She sings "Love will find a way" but about how her love for Kovu and Zira will help her gain strenght to take the kingdom.

When the mirror sang “watch as the chaos now ensues” I got chills that was so ominous the idea of the mirror being like some cursed object that corrupts people is such a scary concept
The mirror low-key gave me chillllsssss
This implies a cycle where a villain arises every generation, desperate to reclaim what was, is defeated by a pure-hearted hero, only to be replaced by said hero. A cycle of chaos and decay...
What I'm saying is this is the Dark Souls of villain so-
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" didn't belong to my favorites as a kid, but it mesmerized me somehow. I owned a Snow White-costume and was very interested in the different variations of the story. But when I watched it again for the first time a few years ago, I realized what kind of beautiful and tragic masterpiece it is (especially the ending makes me emotional every time, by its different interpretations and the fact that the castle in the sky symbolizes beautifully what was still ahead for Disney). Seeing that gave me a whole lot of new respect for two other "original" princesses as well.
I didn't think it would happen, but I hoped you would do Snow White next. So I was very thrilled to see this on my notification box and I dropped everything to watch this - and have come back to this daily after that. The duet between you and Anna is such a dream come true and those harmonies... wow. It may actually be my favorite cover of yours so far (which says a lot, because all of them are fantastic). I absolutely love how you took Magic Mirror into this and showed that even though Snow White and all of us have many good traits, growing up in the certain kinds of environments and under a lot of pressure to exceed expectations, we may start to believe that we are crafted or wished to be just one thing or emphasize just one feature. That the trust can be broken only so many times and the kindest ones have their limits as well. And that we should focus on breaking out of the toxic, pressuring patterns we might have been living or forced to live with.

Tiana-Naveen is killed by the Shadowman because the Ray the firefly was only able to tell Tianna that the shadow man trapped naveen and gave another man his body before the Shadowman's shadows steal him away,leading to his death. As Tianna never got to hear where naveen was kept,she never knew where to go to rescue him.
After a day of her searching the shadow man comes back to mock her,telling her how the other man now has Naveen's body forever now,as Naveen was reduced to an ingridient for the permanent potion,as it called for a frogs heart.
He disappears,leaving Tiana tiny and broken-hearted on the ground.
Eventually she goes back to mamma Oodie to get help to return to a human.
But while she and mamma Oodie look for a cure,Tiana becomes obsessed with witchcraft and behind momma oodies back,she goes into the dark arts.
When she and momma odie finnally find a way to make tianna human again,Tianna's knowledge dark arts disrupt the spells sancity,as her heart has become tainted,and she becomes something between a human and monster.
Having been given green skin,sharp teeth,and long black nails,and long,unruley blach hair,she has still retained most of her original physical features.
Her changes have also given her something that she already had,but amplified it tenfold.
A craving for Shadowman's blood.
She storms out of momma Odie's,who could not see the terrifying transformation and smiles sadly to herself,thinking the girl has simply left for her family and is finally healing.
She could not be farther from the truth.
Tianna makes her own witches hut in the Buyou,and works feverishly until she is fully versed in the dark arts.
She travels back towards the city,swimming through the bayou,where not even the aligators dared to cross her. She traveled at night as not to draw attention to her new form.
In the darkened city,the once familiar place now feels strange and sharp.
But she cares not,as she only has one thing in mind.
She doesn't even notice the old restaurant,which was once her only dream.
But,after Naveen and her friend's death,she could hardly give her lost dream a thought.
Her song "Im almost there" has a totally different meaning now as she closes off on the shadowman.
Compared to Tianna,he is now nothing more than a boogeyman,something for young children to fear.
Extra lore just because: As she leaves the brutalated corpse of the Shadowman,she sees Naveen coming towards the house. At least who she initially thought was naveen. It was actually lawrence who was needing a new love potion to make Lottie forget she was married to someone who was far from a prince. A manipulative,emotionally neglectful,lying husband who had done nothing but squander her fathers money after his tragic death at their very wedding.
For just a moment,Tianna was that hopeful young woman who wanted to fall in love and own a resturaunt again,before she realized what the shadowman and Ray said,and who it actually was,extinguishing the last ray of hope in her body. When he saw her,he screamed the scream of a man who knew what was about to happen to him.
What happened when she destroyed the person who was the image of the man she had loved is what fully destroyed her sanity.

Snow started with minor hexes to the young girl in the town, make her break out, ruin her hair, even tries turning her into a frog.
But by luck (magic can be funny) the young girl still managed to fix herself up, so Snow White needs to take more drastic measures.
The mirror is calling to her, curses from her stepmom’s books are calling to her, dark magic is calling to her, so she succumbs.
It was an accident, the girl wasn’t meant to die. She was simply to be defigured and torn so there’d be no magic or cure for her.
Pity, she used to be so fair. Exactly like her younger sister.
