I keep coming back to this, I swear it's my favourite You Tube clip. I have bought a Moog Grandmother and Valhalla Shimmer, not as a result of but definitely influenced by Aftermath. I mostly compose with the Roland V Synth GT but this offers something different. It sounds so bleak and beautiful. I create sounds with Bird Song and running water, living in this Welsh Mountains - but I am transfixed by this. Mariell, you have created something very special here.
Thank you very much for your kind words! This is one of the nicest things someone's said about my music ever :) I hope you'll enjoy the moog grandmother and valhalla shimmer as much as i do :) (ps i use valhalla shimmer and/or valhalla delay on almost all of my projects haha)
@@mariellgronnestad I was watching "The Rig" on Amazon Prime this week and I turned down the sound, and replaced it with this. It was a huge improvement and really suited the Sci Fi themes and North Sea location. Look out for an email link to some of my ideas.
Wow, this is so good! Definitely a film track! As Get The Jacket said, someone needs to make a movie for this! Would love to try put something together for it. Subscribed to your channel and look forward to hearing your other music 🎵 ❤️
Fantastisk stemningsfyldt!!!
The cubase project is a mess with several tracks to different parts/sustained notes/motif haha. But through most of the song there is 4 tracks active at the same time. :)
@@mariellgronnestad Cool! Have you connected your Grandmother to the Cubase clock yet? I'm trying but having no luck at all. Any suggestions would be great! I subbed too! Have to check out your other videos. Feel free to check out mine if you like!
@@mariellgronnestad Thank you! I will try that after I finish working on my punk song. I do a lot of different styles. It's fun and that's what music is supposed to be, I think.
All sounds except the noise/perc sound at the end has the same patching and effect (valhalla shimmer). I didn't take pictures of every sound i made, but here is the patch I built the song upon and the shimmer preset. Hope this helps! :) drive.google.com/file/d/1XLS6PfIDC7EEkBijZV5NHeAh7jh2Gi0v/view?usp=sharing
I can't comprehend why they make mono synths..I literally can't see the logic... I tried this one in a shop, and it sounds cool.. but it's mono.. Might be better off with a cheaper poly-synth (not dual) and a decent pre-amp..

Haunting and beautiful - absolutely fantastic.
Wonderful demo, it's amazing how many moods this tiny synth is capable of.
So hauntingly beautiful.

Sound's great ... would u like to do a How to do this Track - Demo?
Very good! I like it a lot. How many tracks did you do to make this?
The cubase project is a mess with several tracks to different parts/sustained notes/motif haha. But through most of the song there is 4 tracks active at the same time. :)

@@jeremythornton433 Try this : add midi track ---> output to MIDI (my output is ssl2+ MIDI) --> Transport menu>Project Synchronization Setup>MIDI Clock Out>(MIDI Clock Destination). Hope this helps! :)

Someone needs to make a movie to go with this it’s so good . is it the same patch , playing the motif and the sustained notes at the same time ?
It is the same (tweaked) patch. The motif and sustained notes are recorded on different tracks :)
🤩
All grandmother? Sounds nice

I like ist very much 👍
could you share the patch please ?
