  • If there's anything Putin's good at, its pressing the West's buttons...and his latest trip to North Korea is no exception. However, by signing a new defense pact with Kim Jong Un, Putin might inadvertanly gain Ukraine a new supporter.

South Korean here. SK has maintained a good relationship with Russia since the collapse of Soviet in the 90s, so we tried not to get involved too deeply in the Russian Ukraine war. But Putin somehow decided to fly all the way to the Korean peninsula and shit all over our doorway.😂 That is some peculiar shit.

Peter is clueless. North Korea can provide Russia 4x-6x more artillery than South Korea can give Ukraine. South only produces 200k per year of 155mm. North Korea is now sending troops towards Ukraine. Will south do that? While South Korea has good grade weapons tech it can not compete whatsoever in artillery production of North Korea, before we here how north is providing “ old stuff” It’s actually false. North Korea has since 2022 drastically increased they’re production and Russia is bankrolling their industry by purchasing 50% new shells and 50% of older stuff nevertheless 5 million rounds of older artillery will cause Ukraine headaches

And as far as economies, that's why saying, "Oh Russia is smaller than Spain" or whatever is stupid. Let's imagine North Korea doesn't exist and we move South Korea up there and everything else is the same. Does South Korea have a chance against Russia? We'll even add China's nukes. Without the US they'd get crushed. South Korea is more a case of a number of countries either helping Ukraine openly or through the back door. One country is no big deal, I think Russia could win even against the US alone, but when its Poland, and France, and German, and the US, UK, South Korea etc etc the sheer force of it all adds up. Russia's allies may not even want it to be strong in the first place and none of them can do things Russia can't besides maybe Iran with the drones.

If you are one degree off of your heading in sixty miles you will be one mile off course. The USA still has at least two ships with large radar domes to verify over the horizon missile accuracy thousands of miles down range. How many rocket launches have the North Koreans monitored for accuracy when lobbing a missile at a target six thousand miles away? If you are aiming for Los Angeles or San Francisco just one tenth of a degree off course either left or right there isn’t that much to hit. Even better just a degree off in pitch and the missile goes in the ocean or into the desert. And then the fun starts.

the Ukraine rapidly becomes proxy war between 2 Koreas...
Poland gets more tanks, artillery and planes from south than from US, and that frees up older Soviet stuff to be sent to Ukraine
and Poland is serious about transferring tech so they can build stuff locally
while north supplies more ammo to Russia than Russia makes
Russia and US taking backseat in both cases
    how the mighty have fallen...

Comparing South Korea to the USA in terms of arms exports is like comparing Massachusetts to Texas in terms of gun ownership.
Still more than average of the rest of the world, but not really a fair fight.

What a load of bull, I had a Hyundai it worked for tens of thousands of miles, I live far north so lots of salt om the road and it never had any structural rust. Not the most comfortable car, but it was really cheap when new.
But today the Koreans are on par with the best, the Inoniq 6 is among the most comfortable cars I have ever driven.
And their smartphones... Need I go on?
