In this video we have a request. To put the Flying Tomato (USS Yamato) against the Federation Class.
Both of these ships are capable of firing large amounts of torpedoes.
Who will win?
Thanks for watching!

Brex - microfractures are forming in the hull
Brex! This isn't even macrofractures any more, the star drive is floating past the window under its own power!
The Federation class is a Dreadnought class while the Yamamoto Class is a pure Battleship. The Yamamoto has heavier shielding and more of everything. However, there was a book titled "Dreadnought" where the Federation built an experimental dreadnought with some interesting special features like hologram projectors which fooled enemy ships into believing the hologram was the actual ship.
I'd never even thought of this match-up! The battle I didn't even know I wanted, lol.
i loved the yamamoto from klingon akademy lol XD
Yamato.
Time for the Yamamato to take on a ship from the next era - may be the original Excelsior?
With TWO secondary hulls, the Yammy has at least that many warp cores and I believe that's where the phaser's battery banks are charged from.
So yeah.....the phasers as well as anything else requiring power, will be drastically over powered.
5:38 in the words of Lieutenant Worf, "very astute!"
Wow a complete walk over I didn’t know much about the Yamoto but now I’m looking to get one.
Yeah the Yamaoto's weapons are a lot more powerful than the Federation Class for sure. I think it's because the Yamaoto has TWO warp cores if I remember correctly. Where as the Federation class only has one. So the power for the Yamaoto would increase especially for their weapon systems.
That was hilarious when you were saucer separated from the battle as the Federation class and instead of colliding with the saucer it just went straight through it. That gave me a good laugh.
I agree the Yamaoto is a beast and the clear victor. I love when you are playing strictly as TOS ships it plays music from TOS.
I love the sound of the Phasers from that era.
They are the best! Absolutely love them. I was disappointed on Enterprise how they just seemed to revert to the TNG/VOY era ones. 🖖
No contest indeed
The STO's sounds effects are cool)
My favourite beta canon design is the Yamato class, particularly the TMP refit of it.
Am I the only one who thinks RBG and BigMacDavis should co-comment a video of their choice? I just realized they both have epic sounding voices. 😀
Nice one, the Yamamoto is pretty cool! I wonder if there exists a TOS version of the Miranda Class.
Does the Anton-class count?
Multi vector assault mode before multi vector assault mode was cool
Considering that TOS movie era ship phasers had their energy channeled directly from the warp core, the Yamamoto with its 2nd warp core can dedicate all the energy from that warp core to just powering the phasers. I wonder if there is any TOS era enemy ships that could take it down.
Yes boom awesome
Thanks 🖖
I personally prefer the Ulysses-class dreadnought. Given that ships of the class have the same name and registry as the Federation-class dreadnoughts it is my headcanon that Starfleet (quietly) replaced them with the Ulysses-class due to their embarrassing performance.
I think that you might have to test out the Ulysses from "Klingon Academy" against the Yamamoto-class next time.
4-0 - pretty convincing numbers. Another great video. There seems to be an endless pool of ships you’re drawing from, i was wondering if any of the Starfleet Command 1 or 2 (for pc) Federation variants made it into the game? There was a patrol craft that looked like a Connie flattened like a pancake; there was a destroyer that had two vertical nacelles, one above and below the saucer; there were dreadnoughts and carriers; etc.
Great video, but there's something to consider. More warp nacelles doesn't necessarily equal more power. The power is provided by the warp core/reactor, and the warp nacelles only job is to stabilize and generate a warp field. A dual or multi-channel warp core would provide more power to the EPS grid, which in turn powers the ship's systems, among other things. It's also worth noting that a ship is nothing without a skilled and cohesive crew to operate it. Tactics and strategies are useless if the crew isn't working together.
4 nacelle tos era ships slap
now a real contest would be the Proxima VS the Yamamoto
is this a glitch because the yamato class has always been underpowered while the federation class in your previous videos held up pretty well.
I would love to see the USS Kelvin from Star Trek take on the USS Reliant.
Saladin Class? 🤔 yeah, that's how it's allegedly supposed to separate so saucer can either escape at warp, or also engage the enemy
The ONLY chance, and even then it's a long shot, would be to target the sensor array with torpedo barrages and do hit and runs with in system warp and hope enough hit to break through the shields and blind the ship.
Hey, I got a request. Can you do a series of battles to see how many Yamamotos it takes to bring down the Scimitar?
Oh, also, is that StressPuppy's Yamamoto?
this is like arizona vs iowa both battleships but there is a clear wieght difference
Its more due to being able to focus more phasers on target. alot of the yamamoto class's phaser arrays have overlapping arcs. so four or five phasers pinpointed onto one sheild quadrant will collapse it alot faster.
Can we have Federation Refit vs. Proxima Class?
well, the butt-kicking happened in a hurry because you're using a GMunoz ship against what looks like a very crappy version of the "fednaught". the horrendous smoothing on the e-hull sides, the breakaway at the neck, and the horrendously misaligned aft e-hull phaser means that fednaught needs some SEVERE cleaning and tweaking. even the older version I have would do better against the Yamamoto!
a Better fight I suggest is the SFRD Star Empire versus Yamamoto.
😲😨🧐I knew it.. lol. Admiral.. the nacelle that stayed and looked like a saucer separation but not .. still. 🤔hmm I had a feeling lol. this was a great battle Admiral.. and the Yamamoto is tough, and the Federation Class.. hmmm lol.. at least we got to see what if.. lol This was a crazy battle and learned a few things too with the ships.. Very nice ..!! The sounds of the warp taking off and slowing down in nice to hear.. 😊🖖
Wow, that Yamamato is some ship. You should have kept doing the warp thing. It might have taken time, but you might have got them eventually. Time gor the Yamamato to go up against something even sttonger and more modern maybe. See how it will do then?
I don't think the Federation Class is quite ready for prime time.
So Yomatto vs Galaxy class
Something's wrong with the Federation Class here.
Game engine revolting over extra nacelles?
What about a borg cube vs the arifact cube
how about the federation vs star destroyer?
how against two or three federation class
what i never understood is when federation starships in the show are in battle u never see them firing all their phasers at the ship they are fighting to the death its always just one phaser shot over and over again
It could be a budget or technical limitation in the show. I'm pretty sure we see Voyager Rapid fire phasers in one of the earlier episodes. That's a very good point though 🖖
@@RetroBadgerGaming your probably right and thank u I'm usually afraid to ask questions beacause people usually make me feel like an idiot
A song that came to mind while watching this vid. 😁

Nice to see but it's not much of a match. Yamamoto is a battleship and the fed is a dreadnought.
Would you perhaps know why my comment was deleted?
Seems like the federation class has some bad numbers.
more like El Fatto
🤣🤣🤣
What a glass jaw... lol how bout the excelsior
I personally hate the Federation class I think it's just an uglier Constitution. The Yamamoto I like much more as a TOS battleship. It's a much better design that said I'm a sucker for designs with dual underslung engineering hulls.
Sword of kahless vs romulan warbird please ( Klingon academy)
I remember back in the old Dynaverse 2 days, only the absolutely most skilled players ever fielded that beast of a battleship. It was large, but slow and hard to steer, so only the best players stood a chance of winning with them.
The reverse was true also. Only the most skilled players dared take on those BBs, because while those BBs were slow, they hit hard.
In Starfleet Battles, Klingon/Federation dreadnoughts with an engine connected to the saucer/boom keep it when they separate, and the Klingon B-10 battleship keeps its two boom engines if the boom separates. The boom by itself as as powerful as a D-7 in-game.
I’ll bet the Yamamoto has Ludicrous speed!
