That fork looks pretty dope! Thanks for sharing, cool video!
Love the fork you installed , great video .
that was a fun ride. thank you for sharing this video with us.
thanks for the video. thinking changing the fork might be a lil more than I thought but yea video helps get an idea of what is needed to add a suspension fork and better handlebars.
Nice to see some actual riding and good content with an ebike! Nice work
Gotten mine in first week or 2 of May for the preorder April got a free bag go over rack for the long wait, and I'm just loving my bike! These upgrades look great might try to do this sometime. Thanks for the advice and video presentation this is a great help! 🚵♂️🚲
Great video, thanks for sharing! 🚲🙏🏾
Great video and mods! 👍
Good to know there’s aftermarket parts to add
Just wow! Nice job.
Dudeee that’s so sick!! I might do that to mine!
Your handle bar mod is sick. Good job on that.
Epic mods! Beautiful!
Glad I watched you upgrading handlebars and grips to tell us how to change the settings to class 3 that it tells you in the manual....
I just ordered this bike 2 days ago. This video was great! Can’t wait to get the bike and tune it a bit. Great job👍
Got it yet?
got it yet?
666miguel99 He order his for June pre order to still haven’t gotten mine so probably not
Just got mine!
change the controller to phaserunner and buy a cycle analyst. Check how to wire it but it should be really easy. with this you can raise the top speed and acceleation by 40% at least!. if you install battery with higher voltage you can go even faster!
I can’t wait to get one of these bikes
That music choice is REALLY good
This has some major stoke vibes.. im really leaning towards getting one after watching this👍🏽
I get a real Colin furze kind of vibe watching this! Nice bike! Mine arrives Tuesday..
Awesome video I learn soooo much from you and your viewer comment(smile)!!!
Herman Lighthall glad to hear it!
wow!!! you really pimped that bike out nice
Thank you , that was waaaaay cool. You helped me.........
I would do the same if i get this bike! Great job!!!
Awesome thanks for the mod tutorial, especially ythe throttle info! I was wondering how to deal with the twist throttle for a more bmx style ride!!!
Bro you're the man. I could never do that upgrade.
Bike looks awesome
Awesome upgrades. Now put on a Microsoft Advent 9 speed group set with clutch and much bigger range for higher top speed, easier climbing and no more ghost pedaling.
The bike looks crazy awesome with the mods... This is how I want mine to look eventually... I'm riding around looking like a goob now still. LOL. Looks way cooler without fenders but the fenders are super practical.
Strill Life yea the fenders are practical if your in wet or sandy environments i guess. Or if your commuting to work. But if your just use it to go out and have fun then i recommend it. I hate the clanking of metal fenders
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 yeah your bike looks way more wicked than the factory look. It would be worth getting a lil dirty. The bike even looked faster after your mods. It definitely was handling off road much faster for sure.
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 you wanna sell yours???
Glad I saw this video in relation to installing the thumb throttle. Would probably had the same error code. I should have no problem switching the wires if necessary since I have done this several times before on other items. Using a flat blade mico-screwdriver or the tip of an an exacto knife will do the job. You need to push in the flexible part of the tiny steel connector on the wire. Don't push it too much, just enough to get it out of the exterior plastic housing. You will need to pull out the flexible part of the tiny steel connector just enough to get it to lock back in the connector plastic housing. Helps to use a magnifier when doing this part. This used to be part of job I had about 20 years ago. Instead of micro-screwdriver or exacto knife the tip of micro steel pick would also probably work, just depends on what you have at hand. You can get those at Harbor Freight.
Kick ass totally awesome !
Great video. I recommend not playing background music while you are speaking unless you can boost the volume level of your voice.
Nice bike and off road ride...Whoop Whoop
Your bike looks cool
Great video
Wow awesome modification 100% dope! I got x fold sondors wondering if I can do that on my PC to make the bike a 28 mph?
Great vid, especially the ride at the end. Damn, I have had my XP since Dec. I was wintering in Florida until a few weeks ago and got to ride about every day down there. I took mine alot on the beaches on the Atlantic ocean and it was great. I love mine, but could never ride as well as you. But then, I am 66 years old. LOL
Wow kudos to you and this video!!! I have two on order for may shipment!
jtaheri223 awesome
Jtaheri223 how long did it take for you to receive your bike?
The Jacques Cousteau of eBike modifying. Cool handle bars, matches the blue on the Lectric.
Thanks!
Killer vid Will! Your riding style is awesome. I'd love to see a video where you mod the XP to remove the throttle mph limiter. There is a group of us in the forums that are interested, but no one has figured out how to do it yet.
Also, P14 allows you to set the controller current limit, but I'm not sure if the stock XP M5 display is setup up so people are locked out of it, or what it's set at. I'm curious if it can be increased for added motor power.
Pat The Cat are you referring to how when you use the throttle only it tops out at 20 mph?
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 Correct. I've been searching for a way around that for a while now. I wonder if this link has what I would need and would fit the bike. www.aliexpress.com/item/32948084937.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.2a573f39JMioiq&algo_pvid=865437c3-5c22-40a8-86b9-ef79da86cc7d&algo_expid=865437c3-5c22-40a8-86b9-ef79da86cc7d-13&btsid=0ab6f83115880288986465976e3eff&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
Pat The Cat interesting, so the idea being that the new controller wont have a speed limiter on it? Might work. Just make sure that controller fits in the frame
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 That's the theory. I'm new to electric bike setups though. Trying to learn. Thx for the feedback, I appreciate it. I hope I'm not too much of a bother.
To get the handlebar grips off easily and in one piece. Blow compressed air under the grip. They usually come off pretty easily.
Was hoping it would have been a 30+ speed upgrade. Great video
I have seen those pedals in black for mine and was wondering what it would be like... Now I know. 😉
Nice upgrades, really makes the bike look more aggressive. I'm not a fan of the beanstalk handlebar stem, but I need to fold my bike and pop in the car pretty regularly. Mine came with a suspension fork, but I want a better one for when I do mountain bike trails. Bigger problem is keeping the front wheel on the ground. I can turn the power down on the steeper trails (1800 watts), but it's a hassle.
I have a Lectric 2.0 black and did the same thing kept the handlebars cause I like the feel added some short mudguards fat looks cool runs and feels awesome 👍
You know how to have fun 👍
Nice 👍 I’ve been thinking of doing this same kinda changes not sure if I should get the 2.0 or the Lite. I kinda like the single gear but 2.0 has the wider tire.
Great video, just built a nice e-mtb it rocks! Keep riding, going 🍌🍌's on an ebike is the best....🚲.
nicely done enjoy.
Cant wait for mine 2 weeks not a word yet
When removing the grips heat them with a hair dryer it helps alot.
I definitely want suspension on the bike. Thank you.
Nice the suspension is one thing I wanted to do. I replaced the handle bars with motorcycle bars added grips and changed out the light, oh and did the pedals. I added an ammo can on the back which works for me, but I do like the look without the fenders also. Great Video.I made some videos on mine also check it out.
Tekolicious hey thats cool. I love how so many people are making the lectric xp their own style! Such a great community!
did you press the top compression ring into the bearings like you pressed the cups into the frame? there’s a small gap between the headset cover and the bike frame and there’s also some play in the headset with the headset that you recommended.
Very good
dawn soap and warm water mixture for the handles. lift the edge of the grip and dab some of the dawn-water in it with a q-tip. then just twist it off.
Get the zoom suspension seatpost. For rear suspension.
To get grips off, Used either compressed air and try water as lube.. or wd-40 with a small straw.. don't need to cut off
For the grips you use an air compressor with air gun , you'll never do it any other way after that
i usually jam a flat head or butter knife and send a good shot of spit down the space.... remove tool and start twisting.... works pretty good if u are in a pinch. water works... never thought of a compressor though... i like it... clean.
Soapy water
@@JmieUA-cam just make sure you clean soap off real good, if your trail riding it can get re wetted and grips get super slippy 👍.
theDane70 has it right
Use a 18 g needle and syringe full of water to get grips off. They float right off.
To get grips off use air hose with nozzle. Plug hole on opposite side and pressurize handle bar through the little hole in the grip. It will pop right off.
nice..what size handlebars are those again? are they 7 in high? tia
Hi really like your video, would it be possible tell me for the parts you use having the name for them.
Like handle and front suspension and orders.
Will very appreciate, love it...
i'm guessing you're in S. Georgia or somewhere in Florida? Great video dude.
Phoenixman haha yea you guessed it. Im in florida.
Awesome video. I was looking to upgrade to a suspension fork on mine. Will that fork work on the stock handlebar setup without modifications?
Louis Lavin ive never done it before but it might be possible. The extension rod thing that holds the handle bars on the original set up uses a compression style tightening nut (not sure of the official name) that fits into the head tube. If it fits in the stock head tube it should also fit in the one im using. But also your going to need to cut down the head tube of the suspension fork as it would need to be flush with the top of the threaded head set. Probably the best thing for you to do before you order anything is to remove your handle bar extension thing so you can see how its all attached together.
Almost Awesome With Will I will try that thanks!
This guy: ua-cam.com/video/03TDbVv1ZbM/v-deo.html
what forks did you buy?
great video
JB Rad its in the description
Is there a specific reason the bmx bars won’t fit on the factory stem other than size? I’m starting with moderate mods for a better touring experience but won’t be going off road like you, but my better half hates semi straight handlebars and wants a larger rise, but looking to keep the stock fork and stem if possible. I know it’s hard finding many bars with a 25.4mm clamp size, just wondering if this is the only reason. Great video again, those overgrown weeds and palms in April really make me miss Florida.
jtaheri223 technically it will fit the stem but in my opinion it would be to tall but who knows it could work for your needs. I guess it all depends how tall you want the handles. Im pretty sure they make even shorter (height) bmx handle bars. However if you removed the extendable stem you wouldnt be able to because the fork is thread to the threaded bearing head set and is basically cut off at the top of the bike frame head tube leaving no room for a stem to fit on the fork. Hopefully that makes sense. Just make sure you dont use mtb handle bars with that stem as it will be to thick
What is the difference with how you changed your PAS setting with the XP handbook version of just PAS8 -45?
I plan on getting a couple of these bikes and have watched pretty much every video relating to it. I was wondering why you don't have a suspension seat post and better seat. And changing out the sprockets in the rear would certainly help you when pedaling at 28 mph - you wouldn't have to pedal so fast. Of course changing bars you lose the foldable aspect of this bike when transporting 2 in a vehicle. Otherwise, good job. I like the forks - first one I've seen with them.
Enki & Enlil the suspension seat and seat its self just didnt seem needed to me. After i did everything to the bike it felt like a finished idea that worked well for my needs. The rear sprocket doesnt really need to be change. Thats a miss conception about reaching 28mph. The motor is actually capable of doing it with out pedaling. It just needs to know your pedaling to allow you to top out at that speed. I didnt really need my bike to be foldable so changing the handle bars wasnt a concern and a better trade off
Why Wundt the bike fold with these handle bars? Maybe they will be up but should fold
Nice. Could you have used the stock forks with the new handlebars. With to 2.0 version i am happy with stock front suspension.
Use compressed to remove and replace grips. Easy peasy just place the nozzle under the edge and they slide right on and right off
I put a little plastic wedge in the battery compartment and it stops the battery from bouncing around inside.
Nice video, I think I'll just put a bigger motor in there , not much more work by the looks of it :)
Is the front caliper a str8 4ward fit on the fork?idk if these calipers have a standard fit up
Does the high rise handle bars interfere with the folding?
Where did you get the spacers from I did. Not see them listed thanks
John Vitti yes the handle bars dont fold so it does affect the folding of the bike. spacers are in the description under stem spacers. Hope that helps
Great video. No link to the red alloy brake cable end cap?

Nice upgrades! Weigh more or less? Enjoyed video
richdome1 i havent weighted it but it probably weighs about the same. Ill check and see, and update you
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 I am going with steerer tube extender plus BMX handbar with an 8" rise. Also a similar fork you upgraded to. Should interesting when I get it done. These short steer tube setups are too short for my taste.
Hey my freind, can yu tell what rise handlebar are yu using?and any info on that neck extension
You selling that rear rack?
Will it fit the XP Lite?
So is this modded Lectric xp preferred to the Samebike LO26?
CinePost thats a trickey one. I would say as far as price goes i prefer the modded lectric xp to the 350 watt modded samebike build. Also i will say i spent more on the samebike build then the lectric xp build. However if i want to do mtb trails i think you have to go with the samebike build. The lectric xp modded can do some decend off road trails pretty well but not so sure yet of mtb trails.
I got mine on order:) Can't wait to ride? The two things I will change day one is... The tubes to extra thick puncture proof tubes. Install Tire liners strips, no flat's for me. A new seat extension with shock absorption. I'll take it from there! Thanks for the info, I love the new forks brother.
This video is AWESOME! Wish i would’ve bought this cheaper bike!
Do you think these upgrades would work on a mate x bike? Specifically handlebar and throttle
Marlon Jimenez the throttle should be universal as long as the bike uses the 3 prong water proof connector. Just make sure to check if you need it to be a male or female end of the connector. They make them with both. Looking at the mate x im assuming that they cut the head tube flush with the threaded headset just like on the lectric xp. So theres no where for a bmx stem to attach. Thus no way to attach the bmx handle bars. Maybe theres a way out there to do it but i dont know how. Other than replacing the fork you can put the bmx handle bars on the included foldable stem thing but im not sure what that will feel like. What ever handle bars you use make sure they fit in the stem and are not to thick
Okay! Thank you for replying! I’ll be looking forward to more mods on your channel! 💪🏽
Almost Awesome With Will one more question! Do you think this bike is the same size or smaller than a Mate?
Marlon Jimenez i cant say for sure but they look the same size
Almost Awesome With Will okay cool! Good to know! Thank you
Hi, thanks for the vid. It looks very much like the Fiido M1. Is this a noname version of it ? Is it big enough for an 1m83 high person or the bike is too small ?
Kamui〈:-D this is the lectric xp. Its a major brand at least where im from. Its a excellent bike and yes very similar to the fiido m1 but cost a lot less and has a very strong motor. The fiido m1 is only 250 watts, very weak. Also the lectric xp doesn’t have a rear suspension. If i understand correctly you are about 6 foot tall. Id say yes you can ride this bike. Im 5 foot 11 inchs and feels pretty comfortable.
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 unknown brande here in EU. same price than the Fiido m1 here. Yeah i watched in a converter, it's 6 foot. Thanks for the answer :) where did you buy it ? can't find it on amazon for EU
Kamui〈:-D not sure if they do or do not ship to europe. But heres a link to their website. I would send them a message to find out. lectricebikes.com/products/lectric-xp-pre-order-for-june
It looks like the Fiido because there are many ebikes out there that use exactly the same frame, Or similar design, From the same factories in china. The XP is no doubt made in china, Using a motor system from china.. Don't be fooled it's American lol. But back to lectric, They only ship US and Canada.
I bought the Bafang thumb throttle, no switching of wiring, just had to replace the female end with a male end, very easy.
Barry B thats great news thank you. How do you switch the male end / female end? Any links would be helpful

So how do you connect the two wires together? Ive attempted to bull off the female and male ends of those connectors before and it doesnt seem possible. Is there a trick to it? Or do you just cut the wires , pull them out and twist them together?
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 Yes, I cut the male end off and twist and solder the wires together, using shrink tubing to keep them separated.
I'm curious how do you install the the thumb throttle on this bike. The end weatherproof connector doesn't seem to match the wiring and connection of the existing xp throttle
Can someone who did this successfully walk me through this. The video only shows what you do at the controller box. Many thanks!
Would the original throttle fit on that handlebar or maybe a mtb bar ?

Tim Bain its speculated that the lectic xp motor is actually a 750 watt bafang not a 500 watt motor. You should definitely look into it. Dont want you to waste your money. Thats why they removed the labeling. They wanted to market it as 500 watts so that it could pass certain criteria allowing to be sold in more places.
@@almostawesomewithwill9251 The motor is workhorse and just gets the job done. Its tough.

I wonder if you can change the hub Motor wheel to 1000watts
those grips can be removed with air or alcohol.
Hi good video, I do Have a issue with the fork and frame to get those tide with the handle. Can you give me little explication.
Whats the issue
Do I have to replace the fork to change the handlebars could I just use the original ones?
Craig Stevenson actually recently i discovered a headtube extender that slides into the existing headtube and expands when you tighten it. I saw it in some one else’s video so cant say where they got it. The main issue here being that the fork headtube is flush with the top of the frame headtube so theres no where to attach traditional handle bars.
What size spacers did you use?
Great video. I am going to change the suspension fork on my Lectric xp. Any chance you can do a comparison between the same bike battery and the Lectric xp battery? I was told you can actually use a 14ah same bike battery in the Lectric XP.
Louis Lavin possibly. Ill need to look more into it. What kind of info comparisons are you interested in?
Almost Awesome With Will what am interested in if the batteries are compatible with each other than you can updated the Lectric Xp from a 10.4ah battery to a 14ah battery that you can get for the same bike. That would give you roughly 35% more battery and distance
Louis Lavin thanks for the info

@@Marlon_Torres Yes I have contacted them they said everything is delayed from covid. First date was April 25 then it became first week of May. Now they are telling me ups has covid backups. Hopefully they get caught up and get you yours soon.
Lmk ask u did the new headset come with a new crown cause i heard the old one original one is to small and did u use original barrings?
Most headsets come with a crown race.
What make fork are you using?
Use Compressed Air for Grip Removal.. Works every time without any fuss.....
And of course you need a proper pump for the air forks and that will cost you a little more plus good luck finding a Neco H185. Stick with the half turn throttle too just get some quality grips like Wolf Tooth Fat Bear and trim the RH grip. Change out the freewheel of course, get a better seat and suspension post, a quality light and you're set for a dual purpose ride.
