Lies of P vs Bloodborne Comparison Review

- Today I will be comparing Lies of P to Bloodborne, as they have been compared a lot lately and I beat both games last week. I have played through new game plus in lies of P as well as B bloodborne in 2 days last week, so both these games are very fresh in my mind and I want to share my thoughts on what is similar between these two games and what is different.
People have been calling Lies of P a sequel to bloodborne or bloodborne 2, and I am here to talk about if that is a good comparison or if the games truly are different. I also give a review to both these games and kind of talk about what each game does well and what the game could improve.

I luv both games, Bloodborne was my fav and then Lies of P came out of nowhere, phenomenal game, Bloodborne not being in 60fps it hurts
I wonder if we will get a Bloodborne remake. Miyazaki said it’s up to PlayStation and hopefully they bring it to PC with 60fps

I really think the similarities are only aesthetically. The games play completely different.
Yeah Lies of P has some Sekiro feels to the combat but a bit of bloodborne sprinked in. Youre right on the aesthetic
They have completely different art directions. Bloodborne has a more gothic Castlevania atmosphere while Lies Of P has a more Bioshock steampunk atmosphere.

In LoP delayed attacks are kind cheap and annoying so I played with dodge roll more often and only block the attack that very obvious, then the game turn out to be more manageable. the fight is gonna be longer but I have survived a lot more than try to block everything, Humans are really good at reacting but bad at counting consistent timing thats why delayed attacks in LoP are so hard because it against ours instinct. personally I would prefer extreme fast pace with reasonably i-frame like BB and Sekiro.
The attack timings are quite frustrating yeah. I slightly prefer Bloodborne for that reason
@Holaaparty I disagree, the attacks keep you on your toes, the animations are very readable, and you have many ways of avoiding the delayed attacks. If Lies of p played like sekiro, you would be right, but because the game encourages you to both roll, guard, and perfect guard, delayed attacks are more of a high risk, high reward situation. You can roll out of them, or you can try to parry and break the enemies weapon and/or get them staggered. The excellent enemy design really hammers this point down. You are not forced to parry every move in the game, in fact it is a more dangerous thing to do. It I'd kind of like trying to parry everything immediately in Bloodborne you've got to get familiar with the moves first before making that a strategy.

Agreed!! I think I’m gonna give both a playthrough again soon. I beat Lies of P 3 times and Bloodborne twice

I think both are amazing games but when u get it down LOP combat is so satisfying. I think the combat is LOP is better because it’s more technical. But the way Bloodbourne goes from horror to cosmic horror and DLC is just so good being in the fishers hamlet and seeing the setting and then eventually meeting Koas was legendary.
Yesss I agree. I actually restarted Bloodborne today to do the DLC! Looking forward to the cosmic horror elements

@@user-dj9ly8mv4j became obsessed and speed ran it hahaha. I knew some of the routes which made it easier. Only boss that got me stuck was Gehrman

Bloodborne was 100 x easier that LoP
I’m replaying Bloodborne again right now and oof the DLC is slapping me around. But lies of p has a tricky parry / dodge timing. Both are phenomenal games
lies of p has MUCH better combat, i ng+ maxed BB it and only used the sawblade spear xD ONLY. And that was after 5 playthroughs with the standard issue sawblade. This review xD BB is easy, but amazing. Combat is utter trash compared to DS though.
Yeah I used the Saw Cleaver in bloodborne in my two playthroughs hahaha just love the weapon

There is a parry with the gun, but you can play aggressively other ways

if u love oversaturated gothic low res poligon triangalated poor linear combat mechanics with a part time farming game then u lack the ability and senses to truly consume quality things i guess ur one of those guys who read bloodborne is cool from reddit and also the later bosses in the game are really trash
