We usually write essays in english during my elementary days in a public school. In college I studied speech & public speaking. During that time I read english newspaper regularly, read aloud in front of the mirror, watched english movies/tv series focusing how the characters opened their mouth while delivering their lines. Thats how I trained myself with my english until I was able to be conversant. Also working with different nationalities where english is one of the major working languages helped me alot.

Practice makes it perfect , social media is the best example , when chatting or commenting try speaking in English rather than speaking your language , see how good can you become when it comes to writing as well not just when it comes to speaking it . It is proven and it was an example of someone’s experience , not learn it from school but by just having it as a habit as a way of communications

Maganda talaga yung Wikang English paborito ko pa ngang subject yan sa school. 16 years old lang ako pero may pagkafluent narin ako sa English haha. Palagi kasi akong nagbabasa ng mga English books at mga articles na nakasulat in English. Pero parang hindi pa ako masyadong fluent sa English pero nagsisikap rin naman ako na matuto haha.
