  • This is a 1974 Maytag HA806 washer after a total rebuild demonstrating a wash and spin. This model has a bleach injection system and a 'pulse' advance timer which is that little 'scritch' noise that can be heard at regular intervals.

That’s a Maytag ! When they where built like a tank & ran like a Swiss watch ! These so called modern ones don’t hold a candle. To these old school machines. Great find ! Hold on to it !

One of my favorite kinds of vintage washers would have to be a Maytag! I love the noise they make

There is something authoritative about the sweep and tempo of Maytag's agitation that I like. Effective, but not harsh on the clothes.

If I was to get a Maytag A series, I'd want one with console light like this one.

That's if you have anything besides strings left after the Shredmore gets a hold of it.

Thanks for commenting. I'll claim error of excitement. It is actually a 74 but It was late and I should have double checked the dates. It has been corrected. Thank you!

Thank you for commenting. Sorry it took a little while to respond. The water level is how it came. The current owner is actually happy with it but I usually dislike having the level too high as it can cause the machine to eat clothing during spin out.

Thanks for commenting. Yes, that's correct. The washer was 'rescued' with the lid missing. The lid was from a donor.

Nice machine. I've never seen a Maytag with a round motor before. Is that a Maytag motor?

About how much does it cost to get one of these restored? I think there's some guys that do this sort of thing in Texas and across the midwest. I have a Maytag from this era...but it's the one speed motor with the intermittent Delicate cycle.
Does this one have the filter flo and the light inside the basket and all that fancy stuff? I
