Na moment testowania nowego Rolanda RD-800 z czołówki zabrakło praktycznie tylko Kurzweila ARTIS. Oto porównanie RD-800 z poprzednikiem -- Roland RD-700NX.

Played them both, side by side and bought the 700 nx. Never a question. This video is a good example of the tonal differences.
The RD-800 has the piano sound from the RD-700NX too
Either one you CAN'T go wrong! Tried the 800 it's great! Loved the 700nx id be happy with either!

From this sample, rd700nx grand piano sounds better indeed. However, I recently had to choose between the two and I purchased RD-800. There are a few reasons why I did that, including the possibility to use many other Super Natural instruments which were not present in RD700nx, better mechanics, better feel, lighter weight. Overall I think rd800 is a much more complete and versatile instrument.
I never tried the 700, But the RD is so much more than one Piano sounds, as you know there are 100's of Piano's of all kinds too, to say its sounds flatter I can't judge this cause I never tried it, But every time I play Piano on the RD I always feel like I'm sitting on a real AP. It's an awesome controller as well, I run 2 keyboards beside the RD and it's pretty powerful controller, with the live sets you can actually swap your patches to make your Band's set list in
order. And its much more than just Piano like you say the Supernatural sounds are really good and you have the whole palette of keyboard Vintage sounds as well. I'm not to keen on the Drums sound though but they are fine to get an idea around.

Hello, Renato Aranha Campos, I have a Yamaha P140, but I´m sad with it, the keyboard is too heavy for my soft playing. When I play it, I feel lazy for doing certain things. I had once a Roland A90EX which I find fantastic, the perfect balance on the keys. But once I tried Roland RD 800 and found too soft, but may be only the first impression. I´m searching a new digital piano. Would it be fine to choose a RD 800, or the new RD 2000 ? Have you tried RD 2000 ? Thanks !
Seen from a distance, the rd-800 sounds rounder and more balanced without losing any of its brilliance. I had the RD700 myself for years and was satisfied. But it sounds a little too harsh to me personally.
Ambos tem o timbre belíssimo ; gosto muito do "Brilliant" do RD700NX que tive ; mas os timbre do RD800 são fantasticos também!
Atualmente tenho Nord Stage 2 ; mas , sou fanzaço da Roland tambem.

The Roland 700 NX has a brighter but thinner sound, the Roland RD--800 has a more natural piano sound and a superior action, ( I've played both. plus the 800 has the old NX piano settings well so you get the best of both worlds with the Roland RD-800, I have 50 years of playing piano so I have played a wide variety of acoustic and digital, The RD-2000 is like an upgraded 800 just more bells and whistles etc

I only have an " now old -VA7 !, " witch" I picked up , for a song ( as they say) , a year ago , but even that is " Fab " ! - for i'ts age , ! ,( I Love IT ) -" " cheers to from -Mike ' - Wales ' England .

Rd700 The best!!!
RD7OONX is better, in terms of tone IMHO. Has a more mellifluous sound in the piano settings, relative to the RD800, which sounds to my ears, slightly muddy and artificial. The tine and reed electric pianos are also pretty respectable on the RD700NX. Personally, I prefer a real acoustic piano over any electric/digital or electro mechanical piano e.g. Avant Grand series, etc... The action on the RD700NX is workable, but nowhere near a good acoustic piano IMHO. Actually prefer the action of the Rhodes MK80 over the RD700NX, but the sounds are much better on the latter. Fender Rhodes Mk1, Wurlitzer 200A, good acoustic (e.g. Bluthner or Steinway), Roland RD700NX, Roland Mk80 (as midi controller) with Ravenscroft 275 software. Covers most bases for composing/performance needs, in regard to keyboards.
Wszystko spoko ale czy przez przypadek nie zmienily sie proporcje cenowe od czasu, kiedy robiliscie to porownanie? Teraz rd-800 to 9k z haczykiem natomiast rd700nx mozna za nieco ponad 7,5k kupic.
