- In this video I discuss the materials and design of another great New Balance running sneaker. The 2002R features ABZORB in the midsole and ABZORB SBS in the heel for cushioning. While the Stability Web and N-ergy outsole offer arch support and shock absorption. Check out the on-feet look towards the end.

I just copped these. I can’t wait for them to arrive. Unfortunately, I went a half size down as I do with all my NBs. Hopefully they’ll break in nicely. Great video!

I ordered this Marblehead colourway too. It's surprisingly great quality and very comfortable. Much better than other made in asia pairs from NB.

Nice review man, definitely sold me! I know you said they don't fit as big as some other NB models, but do they still fit big? Trying to figure out if I'm better off going TTS or going a half size down. I'm a size 10 in Nike's and have gotten 9.5s in the past for some NB's, for reference.

hey Eric great vids... im a newb on nb sneakers.. shall i get the 99x (990v5, 991 or 993) or the 2002r for my 1st pair? 1. comfort and light 2. design (all design are great).
The 2002R is for sure a great sneaker and definitely one to start with. But if you want a better “pound for pound” sneaker, then the 990v5 is the one. IMO.
Oh my that music...funk deluxe and that shoe...aaahwayaaaaaa it's looks like a 990 buts a 2002 but it's two world in one and that suede 🎉

So the quality is slightly subpar that the made in USA models? How did you get a discount on this by the way? NB points? Most of the promotions New Balance offers exclude the best selling models.
Overall the quality is great, it’s just the suede is not as nice as in a made in USA. NB had a 10% discount the day I bought them.

what's the sizing like on these? I wear size 10, do I need to up half a size. I have the 2002r black fig in size 10 and it feels kinda snug. Was wondering if these would be the same
I'm getting mixed feedbacks because some people are saying with 2002r to go half a size down
2002R is very consistent with sizing so if the black figs feel snug then consider going up a half a size.

They’re equally as comfortable or even better. After wearing both models for so long now, that’s how much I love the 2002R.

A lot of 2002R used like a blended suede. But can’t confirm what type it is.

I think so, they don't have the sizing options that a 990v5 has. But they're overall very comfortable. Good thing is you may find the 2002r in store.
