Yo what about those PO cases?
I'm looking for too 😅 but they don't do them anymore...
You always have interesting PO cases but usually never mention them so thanks for showing us 😉
I personally enjoyed the clicks - very ASMR-esque!
@@TheMCCraftingTable waiting for that too. What's that cable going into the tonic at the top?
You can change level of each individual drum sound on the Tonic! When you make a patch in MIcrotonic you are actually making 2 patches that you later morph between with pot B on the Tonic. So you just copy one patch and then turn the volume way down for the B state. Now you have the same patch to morph between, but one with the volume turned way down. That makes the morph pot function as a volume pot.
A big hell yes to the POs! And I'm glad this channel will never get too big to celebrate them. They are affordable enough to say f- it and buy one and chances are, you're going to find a way to incorporate them, if not rely on them as I do! ✌️🍻
you've got to be one of the most down to earth and authentic human i know on youtube
real blessing 🙏🏼🌱
Your comment sounds SO unfair for all the other down-to-earth youtubers.
Great stuff, Ricky. Love when you build the thing and talk about building it at the same time
I just really love how you are working on this little powerhouses! Please keep them coming! :)
got my pocket operator ko the other day. cannot stop playing with it. it's amazing how jusy a couple patterns chained and then messing with the fx can create so much joy. peace and love man
Love this channel man, I’m a 3D artist and I have the minibrute and the drumbrute as a hobbyist and this channel keeps me interested in learning. Your setup is pro, your knowledge is insane and your energy is captivating.
YES I love watching you jam on the pocket operators! Always inspiring. Thanks for sharing:)
Your voice is so soothing, and the studio looks so relaxing too. I could make music there for hours.
YAAH! That groove was teetering on the brink of awesome the whole time, and getting there sometimes. A fun listen and watch. Thanks.
Tonic and KO are my favorite two as well. I've made whole albums on the KO actually. I just really like the workflow on that little guy.
I always forget how useful these things are. Those are slick cases too.
Always wondered about these. Thanks for the video Ricky
All these channels on UA-cam can post all the videos on all kinds of gear but I’ve done the math over many years. Nothing out there surpasses the Akai MPC 1000 (or older MPCs) for groove, sample based workflow and good sound with great low end or the MPC one, live or X for features if you’re not too fussed about the sound. You will always return to these machines after blowing a whole load of cash chasing the dream. If you want to get locked into the groove and be creative and actually make music and enjoy the process. It’s Akai MPC all the way!
Just dug out my PO33 again to play around with the syncing options on it. Seeing how Ricky pushes it I am wondering about having a go at making some ambient stuff on it. I mean it is a sampler so you should be able to do something ambient in theory.
Yep PO's constantly amaze me, and every time I watch a video on them I kick myself for not taking the time to really getting to know my 33 inside out.
I’d honestly love to see you post a video of producing a track from beginning to end.
Seeing someone else’s workflow always fascinates me.
Love this well done 👍
Regarding to the bag. Having experience with similar camera bags that also can transform to be a backpack. The quick straps should be fixed or the connectors you attach to the o-rings should have have a lock mechanism. Quickstrap connectors without a lock are very risky as they easily come off by accident and then your bag can fall from your back to the concrete floor.
during the fade out of the video the stank face you made makes me so happy
Digging that first beat 🔥
Wow, cool electribe there in the sponsor part! I love the classic models with the tubes, a friend of mine has the red one and it looks and sounds so awesome
Oh man, I love the shell on your POs.
Great video!
Also, on the bassline section of the video
I got the same problem with po33 when you live record something on two chained patterns and it misplaces the 1st beat of the 1st pattern
Seems to occur with longer samples, not so much with the short ones
Pocket operator are just amazing! They have changed the way I approach producing music!!!
could you give a link to the PO cases you have those are great and i havent been able to find them Thank You
What a wicked jam!
love the sound of those
Great Christmas presents too
I love messing with Microtonic, it really takes the Tonic to another level. You actually design your own drum sounds, and then there is something about the Pocket Operator quality that make those drums sound crunchier, punchier and more lo-fi. Also since you can assign the shape knob to any parameter of the drum sound, you can actually make it a volume knob if you want to be able to adjust the individual levels.
Anyway chill vid as always, I got my PO-32 because of you man, you're an inspiration
damn! i need to check that out then! that'd be awesome
Awesome as always bro! What headphones are you using btw?
I'm not going to lie, I always look forward to pocket operator weeks
KILLER! Man those lil’ things are fun it seems! Already wasted all my synth $ for the year!
Where did you get these heavy duty cases? I love the yellow one!
rocking the perma-swing
out of curiosity, where can i get cases like that for my pocket operator?
Did you ever find out where you get the cases?
Myvolts cases it looks like
@@hyperlitewkbrdn THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Amazon
Hey love those cases. Where can I get one?
Love your videos man...are you an alien?
Yes my guy! Got some Dizzy on Jazz 625 samples. F**k you for outing my secret samples source haha. That version of Tin Tin deo is one of the best pieces of music ever
I use my p.o. 32 all the time. Through great monitors, it sounds amazing!
Just curious what cases you used?
If you have the Strega I’d love to see you run one these through it :)
I think you finally convinced me to pick up the tonic. My wallet says hi
btw - what PO cases are those?
Great samples you found there chief! All the best ;3
We just released a track on a compilation with the po32 and the po bass, and distorted guitars. They work great doing electro grunge rock for my band.
So my son and I are wanting to get more into electronic music, sampling and stuff and I am thinking about buying him and I a Po knock out for Christmas to start our journey. I used to mix some way back in the days I’d Acid and I have tried to do some stuff with the cheaper apps on iPhone like garage band and BandLab, but the use of of the apps are leaving me frustrated. With all of this said would the the knockout be good for complete noobs?
You have a korg Emx electribe?
Theeee Electribe?
I fucking love you bro
Love you too Crispy
This is so cool wth
Where did you get your PO chases? :0
thanks :)
where can i buy those pocket operators case?
and those great white cables too
is the trumpet from duke ellingtons recording of upper manhattan medical group? kinda reminds me of it anyway
broooooo, since 5 months im searching for this type of deephouse bass @5.08,
now at 4 am i found it!!!
can you tell me where you got it from?
peace sings from germany!
I love to look at your videos because they calm my adhd head
greetings from across the globe! Thanks for the kind words Tim
It's nice to not have a youtuber yelling at you for once. Aye! :)
@@b.c.slumber3694 hey mate you ought to check Hainbach then, he's even glad to have you back every time
ok so the benefit of connecting two POs is just having more simultaneous sounds to play with? been really enjoying my KO but wondering if i'll buiy another one down the line.
Please where have you got your PO cases ?
Would the same be possible on a Novation Circuit?
I just bought a PO-33 and a PO-28. Are they a good combination and what other small device would enhance the experience the most?
Sample those button clicks!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
“The enemy of art is the absence of (financial or physical) limitations.” -Orson Wells Keep up the great work!
'Necessity is the mother of invention' 😉
Where is the link for the cases?
Ricky or anyone, do you know if anyone has made an album using only PO’s - and vocals?
Yes yes, big up from Ukraine!!!
yoooo thanks for watching! Peace and Love
yeah pocket operators for the win! about the Tonic: its crazy that if you have the VST that it originated from you can design your own drumsounds and upload them to them. And that VST I believe its called Microtonic now also has new algoritms emualting the sounds of the classic drummachines(707,909,LinnDrums etc.) and those are no samples. Really crazy you should check it out!
Which audiokit are you using on your tonic?
PS: I saw you had a chat with Sammy (Brawther) a while ago, what a coicidance, he's a very good friend of mine and as we speak I've loan him my eurorack case, so let's see what he boils up ;)
Peace
I heard it only works on mac? Still the case?
Not sponsored either, but I love Analog Cases (and UDG as well). Not having enough room to have gear out all the time, almost all of my stuff is in a case. I automatically hit up Analog or UDG when I buy a piece of gear. Analog cases tend to be roomier and can hold power adapters / extra cables which is great.
Total coincidence I've actually got 2 cases coming my way from them as we speak for some new Make Noise gear I splurged on on Black Friday :).
The PO jam is tight as well!
Hey I have two UDG volca cases, they are really neat to keep those plastic rectangles safe when they inevitably leave the house for some natural jamming!
Although for some reason the two are a bit different inside, one has you lodge the Volca into a perfect fit foam, the other one has a more passive approach with a harder material. Still, the quality is great. A bit tight if you want to carry the Volca Modular with patch cables in, but it can work. It's just the cables will have angled connectors afterwards :)
Sick melody you had going at the end!
Yo, your jams go hard as fuck
More content on the POs please, you make them sound sooo good!
Pro Tip (?) you can alter individual volume for the Tonic if you use Microtonic. Not really on the fly at all, but in the siftware ahead of time .
Whatever that thing was that was going on from 10:25 to 10:33 has sick potential.
What PO cases are those?
omg can you do a hip hop sample with the yellow one? sounds really good
where can I find such cases for a PO?
eveytime i see the pocket operators as thumbnails im like :/ and everytime i watch the video regardless and im like O.O
The screen doesn’t affect the way they work though, right? I have 3 PO’s, and I’m sure I will someday break a screen. But it will still work fine, right?
Chingon el vato!
Yooo I've been eyeing out a PO 33 the last few days.. and this got me convinced! Any thoughts on good cases? Seems a little extra protection/stability wouldn't hurt
I just ordered the ditch studios case should be here on Monday hopefully its good
@@tropicalwhiskers3922 I've got the Dich, like em 👍
@@tropicalwhiskers3922 x2 on the Dich studio cases. they're great
the official rubber ones are just fine. They don't protect the screen tho.
@@G8tr1522 And theyre a dust magnet. The Dich Studio cases make the PO's feel like real bits of kit! :)

Hi Ricky from 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧Bromley UK Loike the tutorial what’s the 3.5 coil cables, small version of Hendrix guitar cables from moons ago👍🖐🖐🆒🆒🎶🎶🔱🕸⚡️☀️☀️
On the off chance that anyone reads this: Anyone know where to get those cases? I found an old Reddit thread abt PO cases but cannot seem to find these particular ones there.
Jansport got SERVED!!!
I Guess i will get the tonic as next pocket operator
Where did you get the cases for the POs? They look pretty good.
you can get them on amazon or reverb
So. Why do you need any other device ? Or DAW ?
I just saw a 10 minutes Berghain-level set with two soding gameboys. Mind: blown.
Amazing what you can do with few "calculators" :D
new headphones?
Damn is that bit from Tin Tin Deo
What makes you prefer the Tonic over the Rhythm? I've always heard people saying such good things about the Rhythm
i love the rhythm as well, i think i get more variety out of the tonic. the Rhythm is great for the classic 909esque sounds though
yeah, rhythm is great at sounding like a drum machine.
Tonic has more modern dub-step/edm/techno flavors. Aaaaaannnd...you can change the on board sounds with MicroTonic. (or just get free packs people put online)
I'm really surprised the POs firmware hasn't been modded yet, seems like it definitely has the potential.
not sure if there's a way...there are gold pads on the back of the device, that kinda look like factory diagnostic pads. I'd love to change the capabilities of one. Especially changing the punch-in fx. Each one has 2 or 3 that i find useless.
What would you change on it?
Me, there's one thing or two I'd like the po33 to have: the ability to mute parts and the ability to transfer samples to the volca sample.
Being able to backup this thing is one of the most awesome features it has; i wish my volca keys had that ability
Hi Ricky! I see you are using wireless headphones. Can you recommend any for music production. With super low latency. as I understand it's not bluetooth, but some other wireless technology.
Would be interested too :)
I keep coming back here to inspire myself... Less is more!
If the op-1 had a quantize feature I wouldn't be selling it
Pocket operator is great after some pocket pool.
Dis fire :)
Aww. I wanted more outro. :)
Sago Ricky 👍
That moment when you recognize Mmmmhhmmm from moody and dizzy from two notes))
sick one. I finally got around to putting something on my channel using the sub, ko, and tonic, and it was crazy difficult but worth it. definitely get the sub when you can, the sound is INSANELY huge.
