that sweet car play was so clutch to get that spot, whoever gets that wins the game and nrg beat them by literal seconds to keep the tournament alive, so good
The mindset from Dropped is insane, adapts quickly, learns from his mistakes, and doesn't ponder what-ifs. Skittle is also crazy for sticking that medkit during the end-zone and timing it perfectly. I know it didn't workout but that timing is just insane and could've been a HUGE play if it actually worked for them. Good stuff Optic
the game four final between NRG and Optic was the coolest moment i’ve ever seen, being there live as the entire arena is chanting NRG still gives me goosebumps
Awesome video as always! I watched all of this live, but didn't realize some of the few micro decisions that could've changed the course of finals. Great insight from Dropped, I'm glad the pros are willing to contribute for your content!
While this tournament was the nail in the coffin for the eventual disbandment of NRG, I'm glad we got to see one last NRG sweet big brain moment which lead to the actual griefing of optic winning it all. What a great lan!
So 28:10 great question, and great response from Dropped. If I recall from watching live, the comms from different teams everyone thought NRG was optic, so there was little attention focused on the team in red room and imo made their push with round 5 closing possible.
Being an OpTic fan who plays Apex I was so happy when we made the jump into Apex and man even though they didn't win champs by god those boys put on a performance of a lifetime. Thanks for this vid you put out nothing but class content I can't wait to see more.
This LAN ruled so hard. Hearing Sweet call that Optic was going to win the tournament if they didn't do something about it is magical in hindsight. Also, Dropped was already one of my favorite Apex pros because I liked SSGs style, and this only cements him as S-Tier for me. Seems like such a cool dude, and really wants to think carefully about the game as a sport, but he also respects the chaotic nature of a battle royale and this game in particular, which is why I find pro Apex so fun in the first place. Banger video.
I love watching this team man. Dropped has insane game knowledge, Skittle has unbelievable decision making skills, and Knoqd has the M&K brain, but with roller accuracy. I hope they stay together and I wish them success in the future!
the whole series of events leading up to sweet taking that trident is just so wild, year 3 champs will be hard to beat in terms of hype moments. im here for it though, lotta talented players coming on the scene with all of these org shifts
This is the definition of niche content, but dude, your analysis is spot on. I been watching these tournys for 2 years, and in a couple weeks of your videos I see so.much.more.clearly. Thank you, keep up the great work!
re the fight at fingers: the layout is purely symmetric, so there's no inherent advantage/disadvantage from one side vs the others. what screwed optic was that more of the zone had closed out their height head glitch, namely the back edge of the height head glitch, the same one sweet was on, on the other side. so the only way up to height for optic, after having to jump off for bang ult, was to run up their near side ramp which had LOS from sweet's heady. you can see dropped peak the ramp quickly and instantly take 50 dmg. consequently, skittles was the only one in a good position so that enabled nrg to capitalize off dropped/knoqd being stuck lowground. doesn't matter who's at the wheel at that point, the game will play out the same every time.
New to comp Apex, been watching Wigg costreams since Valorant is still in the offseason (Friday can’t come fast enough!). As a CS and Val fan, I always felt uneasy about Apex comms with everyone yelling over each other, even if I know if works for these guys. With that feeling present, I couldn’t help but feel good whenever Optic comms were up, with how collected and efficient their comms are, even in high-intensity moments. Probably my favorite team in NA simply because they’re pleasant to watch and listen to! Also thanks for the vids, been binging to catch up on the storylines and overall game-ideology in the Pro Scene!
21:40 sweet explains whats gonna go down, thats why he is one of the best even though he havent won a lan yet. he saved the tournament (gave us more games) with his ability to interpet and read the game.
What Dropped said is exactly why I think DOJO needs to rethink their IGLing. There were too many times that Timmy and Dezign would make different calls or have to talk through a play, and they'd get killed while deciding. Everyone needs to be on the same page and have one person making split-second calls.
While they have returned to dominance. I was VERY sad to see they dropped Dooplex. I always thought he was a good player. But once the meta shifted, he kinda fell off. I hope he can win a substantial amount of money in his new team/role
He was also going through some difficulties at home, I believe one of his parents had gotten sick (mom I think) and needed to help her. Sadly I'm also pretty sure his other parent (dad) passed recently.
Doop was and is going through a lot. It's a shame but the boys are still on good terms. Also, from what I've seen (and played against in customs) doop on roller is an absolute beast right now and I'm not exaggerating.
@@DevinHeida It's the exact other way around, but you are right. He had personal issues to deal with, and just couldn't commit to what OpTic needed at the time. Still rooting for him to do well wherever he lands.
You should make a video about the history of competitive Apex I think a video with all the major events and highlights and such in chronological order would be very interesting‼️‼️
I honestly believe if you got someone like TSM Raven to write an episode of The Reset it wouldn't be that much more meticulous or informative than this. That's how good I think you are, Mr. Hawk, Sir.
The decision for NRG to take the Trident in that north pad game truely ended up biting them in the long run. OG goes on to win that game and keeps NRG in the money- but since the games went on they slowly fell out of the money in the long run….
Its just the clasic mnk inconsistency. Try to play a whole week with the pressure of dropping and lose the chance of 2 mio prize money. Not to mention that teams know whos on matchpoint so they will grief you (when they are not SAF). Theres a reason why many pro players switch to controller coz Aim Assist will give you the consistent aim for every single game of the day (if not theres no bang smoke ofc)
algs looks so fun its like a game of chess what makes algs so dif from normal br and ranked is that ppl in br and ranked dont do what these pros do in algs they all have there own spots they land everygame and i think apex should have like a gamemode kinda like that but add a unique thing to it maybe a gamemode with only 4 pois and 4 teams and you have to choose what poi you want to land in and maybe give the option for one team in contest that would be pretty cool
yea i kno but theres at least 7 teams better than them rn LG, OXG, OG, FaZe, MOIST, DOJO & XSET those teams might end the TSM & DZ domination next year@@niightvl
@@ricard3964 right? TSM didn't even move out of the building on Wall the game after NRG 3v3'd OpTic to keep the tourney alive. This guy is clueless on so many levels.
I will never understand anyone thinking that the Optic 3rd party or the Dojo rat play is BM. It’s Lan Finals, anything goes. If you get caught lacking, it sucks to suck. Only thing I have to say to you is Git Gud. And this is coming from a TSM fan who was disappointed in TSM for dying to the rat play.
I still don't really remember when Doop got kicked? I never saw any announcement about it, and never any reason as to why Doop was dropped from the team to begin with.
Optic and TSM are similar when it comes to decision making. For example when TSM is stuck in a position where they need to make a decision within the next 10 seconds sometimes Hal doesn't know what to do. So he ask his teammates for options. Reps and Verhulst give him options that Hal wasn't able to think of. Hal then chooses an option out of all their ideas. The important thing about this is that there are many times when the IGL is stuck, and they don't know what to do. When a teammate that has similar or equal skill in Game knowledge and macro-micro rotations. Then that teammate introduces so much value to the team. If your Trio team has 3 of these equal skilled player then you have a true Trio Team. This is also how Optic plays. They make decisions, and when they are stuck they brainstorm and commit to a decisions. This is why I believe they are deserving of a top 3 team.

Dropped in my opinion is the most underrated player of all time.
Def one of the most slept ones. Been watching since his SSG Team a while ago and knew he had potential since his gibby plays
That NRG vs Optic scene was masterclass IGL. Both team read their opposition's mind.
