If you’re new to my channel, my name is Dr. Drew Timmermans, ND, RMSK. I’m the founder of Regenerative Performance in Gilbert, AZ, specializing in interventional orthobiologics, which is just a fancy way of saying we help people reclaim their life from chronic pain without steroids or surgery. We challenge the conventional pain management approaches by addressing the root causes of chronic pain.
How I got here…
22 yrs old: Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario.
23 yrs old: Competed as a long sprinter, anchoring the 4x400m relay to a silver medal at the Canadian national championships, contributing to Western's first national title in men's track and field.
23 yrs old: Started working as a personal trainer for GoodLife Fitness in Canada, quickly becoming one of the Top 10 Personal Trainers nationwide.
23 yrs old: Herniated two discs in my lower back, ending my track and field career and sending me into a multi-year battle with chronic pain.
24 yrs old: Enrolled at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now Sonoran University of Health Sciences) after discovering my passion for naturopathic medicine.
26 yrs old: Still battling chronic back pain, I finally became pain-free through a platelet-rich plasma injection.
28 yrs old: Graduated and become a licensed naturopathic doctor.
29 yrs old: Completed the first-ever residency in regenerative medicine and integrative pain management at the Neil Riordan Center for Regenerative Medicine.
29 yrs old: Co-founded Regenerative Performance to help people with chronic pain just as I had been helped.
Today: We help people who have chronic joint pain reclaim their life with cutting edge treatments like platelet rich plasma, and stem cell therapy.

I got shingles when I was 16. I'm now 31, and have been suffering from postherpetic neuralgia ever since. I recently started using topical capsaicin creme, and it's working wonders so far. So much relief after all of these years. Finally!

Did you get shingles on the torso or head?
I had it for 2 months before diagnosis (no external soars). What has greatly helped me was mass quantities of B vitamins it has reduced the pain in 3 days to where I could possibly function as a normal human.

Doctor Drew I forgot to tell you I'm a 62 yrs. old woman that December 15, 2023 I had been sick for 6 days when I went to Urgent care they diagnosed me with Covid they gave me antibiotics and just as I thought Covid was going away I got a very bad case of Shingles on the whole left side of the skull on my head, ear and my jaw and nick on left side. January 5, 2024 I finally found a doctor that did help me but its been 3 months 25 days and I still have amazing pain. Doctor when I had the Covid pain was so bad I wished for death many times even said goodbye to our children and my sisters that's how bad it was but I'm still having lots of pain I don't understand That's why I wondered if it had something to do with the nerves.
Treatments...WHAT treatments? He never mentions what the specific treatments ARE, at least in layperson terms. Are they injections, surgical removal, specific medications or what?

My dad is having terrible nerve pain from his shingles. It starts in his shoulder and shoots to his head, then his eye, then his jaw. He’s been to a neurologist and they didn’t do anything for him. He’s taking Gabapentin but it’s not helping. He gets pain attacks every hour to an hour and a half. There horrible. He can’t sleep. He yells and screams and can’t control it. It last about 3-6 minutes each attack. He hasn’t slept. We’ve been searching for answers and help and no drs seem to take him seriously

Thanks for posting It began about 5 days ago. Tired cant sleep then the pain started feels like your getting a tattoo from in side your skin with a tattoo needle gun with about 20 needles . And my neck feels like a a pitched nerve .

My shingles pain started on March 14 and today is May 4 and I’m still in terrible pain. I just want it to go away 🙁
I got Shingles in 2007, on my head. 2024- the pain has never gone away. I developed fibromyalgia, have tried every medication for it- only to develop side effects and had horrible effects getting off the meds. Peripheral Neuropathy - I wish you the best. The only relief I got was trigger point injections. I was so happy to have needles stuck in my head and neck. That nerve starts throbbing when I get stressed. They can also 'kill' that nerve. Its a journey to find what works for you.

Now as we go into June it’s still with me. I pray I don’t keep it for the rest of my life. I would love some pain free days but I do know there are thousands upon thousands out there that would also love some pain free days. 😔

My mom have nerve pain in her head from shingles and we been seeking help g F or over 5 years now and they gave her all kind of medication and it doesn’t work at all. Can you please give me you state and city where you are located please because we are looking for help she is 82 years old and still out going and driving but it also messed with her eye. Thank you in advance

I have been suffering with burning pain around my ribs doctor told me I have shingles I never broke out and they never gave me medicine except for painkillers now I'm two and a half weeks into it still cannot sleep it burns and hurts any suggestions anyone please help

Hello from Schulenburg,Texas Doctor Drew I see this video is 2 years old but I hope you see my message I need Advice on what to do for the pain and suffering on my School, I'm here on the left side. That's where I had the Shingles The pain I'm still feeling is overwhelming. Undescribable, you think I still have the Shingles. I've been wondering maybe it has something to Do with the nerves. I had botox in my brows in april and now i have nerve pains all over my body. Do you know what could be happening?
Ulnar nerve numbness in two right had fingers for 4 years. An outbreak of shingles mimicked the area that Bryn Mawr said came form nerves in neck. After 8 days of attack, the numbness in those fingers went away.

11 plus years ago they had the shingles on my left bun. Since then I've had no feeling or tingling or numbing just absolutely no feeling in my left leg from ito's to my butt. So just all of a sudden I'm about a week ago I've got this tremendous pain in the top of my thigh in the front and my hip and it won't go away if feels like a charley horse * 100
So my question is Woody chiropractor be able to help that or should I just keep massaging it till it goes away?

I have it bad , But I don't take tablets ,No way just live with it

What can we do if it is in the face. Because i got it a year ago, it went away. It now has come back and feels like i am being woken up with a car battery to my face
I had shingles on my face too. Started at my nostril. Two years lasted and the nerve pain is still there, comes and goes. When it comes on it last about three weeks and subsides for about the same. I tried a nerve block a few times without luck. I had the bunny lines treated with Botox and that has managed to give me relief in the surrounding area, of course it’s temporary but still quite happy about eliminating some of the problem. I held an ice pack on the area to numb it before the Botox injection and that worked very well plus the nurse was quick. A dental block works too but that isn’t practical.
I developed trigeminal neuralgia because of shingles being on my face, definitely see a neurologist I was put on anti-seizure medication that helped. I also ended up relocating to a warmer climate after two years, the pain was debilitating but between those two things its become bearable, enough so that I can laugh and smile without worry.
Or Doctor l had shingles in june, the shingles are no more, but now an suffering with nerves am taking Paracetamol and Tramadol to relieve the pain but now it has been a long time taking those table the Pain is not going away. What must l doctor please help me this pain is so awful
I live in Vancouver BC I'm a 71 year old woman that had shingles on Oct. 16 with pain in my shoulder I got misdiagnosed with rotator cuff injust, by the time the water blisters showed up, the doctor prescribed an antiviral, but I'm left with PHN all the way down my left arm and my thumb has no feeling. There is a constant burning in the thumb joint. I have to take Gabapentin to sleep. I'm taking supplements that are supposed to heal nerve damage. I'm looking into seeing a neurologist in Vancouver. I was wondering if you are aware of any good neurological surgeons in Vancouver? I have to stop this pain asap. There is Dr. Aguila in Nebraska at the Total Pain Solutions clinic who specializes in surgery for PHN. I would fly there if I have to.

I have all the injections you spoke of ( 4 times, one month apart) for the PHN PAIN from Shingles and still have excruciating pain. Are there any Peptides/ Peptide stacks that would help with the pain????❤
for these cases, we tend to look at BPC-157 and TB500 for peptides.
