What a great job. Excellent looking sauna. I m on the east coast of Canada, looking to build something similar. I hope it turns out as nice as yours. The stove looks excellent. Honestly, the whole project looks excellent. Thanks for posting 😀
@davidpatrickmagic likely a smaller woodstove like an older Drolet or comparable. One that is steel so that I can fab a stone basket. And yup, it can get down to -20 or more in Jan-Feb. "Brisk" as my Dad would say lol.
Excellent build, top shelf! What make and model is the fireplace, where did you get it please? How long does it take to heat the sauna to 70 degrees? I'm in NZ as well, cheers!
Question bro, is that a high temperature foil you used and also is it un-stained cedar on the inside ? Im wondering is there a cheaper cladding that can be used because cedar is so expensive in nz. Looks great bro
What kind of lumber did you use for the outer wall? I am looking to build a sauna myself, and I'm nervous that I can only use Cedar for every bit of this project... which would be pricy... I'm seeing people warning about certain woods not only being not as weather resistent, but also emitting toxic fumes if used for a sauna? any insight on this?
Gday Jim Did you get all them materials for the sauna from placemakers? What type of wood is it if i go in placemakers and ask for it? Such a awesome sauna enjoyed watching this
Some people place small battens over the vapour barrier, i see and lots of others haven’t, is it not necessary? Im building my own DIY Sauna and i am getting to the Insulation stage now.
Hello mr Jimboy. Absolutely love this project. I have 0 experience in building something like this, but would love to try. Can you please share dimensions via email? Thanks
It's a great job indeed but the ventilation problem will be visible in a couple of years... It's a great thing but lack of ventilation will start decapitation of the wood from inside and the mold collection which is super unhealthy for health ...I like the silver insolution but it should be just to half up to 3/4 of the wall .
Nice work, love the antler door handle.
could you link where you got that stove from? really nice work man!
thanks for making it so simple
You made it look easy! I hope you're enjoying your awesomely done sauna!
Thanks for watching

Like a cavity batten? Yes probably a good idea it will allow any moisture to in theory escape.
