Both Akechi and Aigis have similar traits, situations and connections to the protagonists, though presented differently due to different settings, time and themes. As a bonus, both are the most popular characters in the JP community, the enhanced versions gives them a much larger role compared to the first versions. Royal kind of hinted more battles against the negative desires within humanity by Jose's dialogue after his boss battle "more individuals watching over humanity". He even hint the thieves will know who he is and whom he's working for in the future. Even Scramble ending Lavenza mentions Igor's still around despite his absence. So it can assumed that there's more upcoming games for Persona 5 since Atlus is the type who won't leave things hanging, until moving on to the next generation mainline.

She questions the difference in tastes compared to his sweets loving public image, and Akechi outright says his "sweet-tooth" is just a marketing thing. So this might actually be somewhat true. I just don't get how Akechi screwed up with addressing Morgana's statement to begin with. Morgana sounds nothing like the human members of the phantom thieves, and hadn't Akechi been spying on them in palaces as the Black Mask already? So he should have known not to respond to a comment from the talking cat. Maybe Akechi was too far away to place the voice and just butted into the conversation w/o checking.

Before 3rd semester the text in Akechi's end screen says "My sole interest is uncovering the truth," then it turns into "I decide the truth" when he drops the act - a chilling change in detail, I absolutely love it
It's also where his animation delves more into the more fluid motions the other characters show in their finishing animations. Gone is the jerky dance with Akechi trying so hard to fit in. Here, while it sure as hell is scarier, it fits as the most morally black individual in the Phantom Thieves (although he does at least make efforts to work with the others and reign himself in when necessary (like stepping back from a fight due to knowing he might not be able to hold back and kill the target they just want to subdue)).
The "I decide the truth" is likely showing that he was tired of being used by both Shido and Maruki, and as such became the type who did things the way in HIS style overall
Final palace Akechi genuinely seems nicer to me just because you can trust that he means what he says. You don't have to suspect he's insulting you. He will be very clear about insulting you

I hope it's a sign of P6 having more things like rank 8 Akechi and less of the generic "Go to the Mementos (or stand-in for Mementos) and solve the issue by beating a generic boss enemy!" Also, it didn't take up two time slots, because that's no fun.

You joke, but there's a scene where Third Semester Akechi orders bitter black coffee, and when asked about it, states that his so called "sweet tooth" was just another part of his fake "Detective Prince" personality.
I really prefer psycho akechi at least he is honest with his words like he comes as a dick and really unlikeable to the cast but unlike prince akechi that is really passive aggressive
I kind of like how even in Sae's palace some of his ruthlessness kind of leaks out for Sketchy Akechi in the heat of combat and it's difficult for him to keep up the act.
I immediately realized and freaked out the first time I had him intiate an all-out attack in Sae's Palace P5 cause his exact words were "It will be a massacre" and I was like whoahhhh hold up COOL IT AKECHI you're gonna confirm my theory for me that you are the traitor if you keep saying murderous things like that. Another line that made me think he was the betrayer first time in Sae's palace (P5) was "My skills exceed yours" cause you know the edginess creeps into his voice there and it's just an indicator that he looks down on the shadows and he's confident (cause it's not his first time like he pretends it is) so it made me think how would you know that unless you come here often 👀 Also it didn't help that I caught the pancakes line from Day 1😅😂 After that I was just looking for little nods towards his nature cause I was 99% sure from that one lil line
3rd semester Akechi is clearly better since he gets rid of the bullshit and be his true self. Also, he can be unintentionally funny with that sass of his.
A little piece of symbolism I always liked about Akechi is his all out attack animation in his prince outfit. The little dance he did before it ended was a nice way to add on to the fact that everything about his detective prince personality was an act, a performance, something meant to draw attention to him while his real motives lay hidden.
Another thing I noticed is right before the all out attack animation, when everyone jumps back Sketchy Akechi does a backflip while Darkechi just jumps backwards. No flair, no showing off.

The persona drops but yeah it's still mostly Public Akechi. I feel if you did play against True Akechi he will have a more agressive playing style. (Forcing you to play high cards and so on)

Akechi in Tycoon is Third Semester. He uses the same tone when speaking with Yoshizawa when they find the Palace. "Princely" but strained. Clearly still his real self.
Akechi's true self is so much more fun to watch, I love him also it kinda feel like some of his true personality leaks through while he's in his prince form, like how he tells enemies to "Taste my wrath!" not really something an honorable, just detective prince would say
Final Semester Akechi seems much more genuine than Sae's Case. Even though Akechi use harsh and foul words, it is a relief that he doesn't try to hide his true self.
I do like honest people but I don't like people that act like a psychopath and talk crazy and vulgar like that. I prefer the fake Akechi because of those reasons

Same! In the "original" P5 he was just kinda there, but I never cared for him. Actually found him pretty annoying, and it didn't help that he almost never appeared, then dumps his story on you and disappears. Royal on the other hand...they completely destroyed my heart with this trash boy. Thank God they decided to give him a real social link, more depth and those delicious lines in the final palace. Having him as temporary navi was so fun

What I do love is True Akechi is no longer hindered by his forced fake personality and decides to cut loose and be himself and march to the beat of his own drum, albeit he sounds crazy and really enjoying himself. That's the type of guy you want on your team in an intense battle. Into it, gives 0 fs, and dances to his own tune. Pretty sure the other thieves are thinking "He might be crazy, but we love him for it"

if you think about it, it makes sense for third semester Akechi to have a new portrait - since he's neither an ally (Portrait used in Sae's Palace), nor villain (Shido's Palace and execution), he's only joining so he can learn the truth of the fake world
I wanted to punch Akechi in the face throughout all of the base game. I caught on immedietly to the pancakes bit and seeing him with his fake smile playing hero while knowing he was a cold blooded murderer just pissed me off. Cut to Royal though, and he quickly became my favourite male character. His honest self is basically the group's Vegeta and his new chemistry with everyone is just gold. I also deeply respect his decision to die free instead of living without free will, and I'm glad he still gets a chance in the true ending. We will never be friends, but I would lying if I said I wouldnt have missed the bastard.
For some reason I'm always amused at how blunt Black Mask's Follow-Up prompt is. "Want me to kill it?" Imagine saying no to that. "I put you on the team to be nice to the enemies. Calm down."
I just love how joker and crow have that Thor and loki dynamic (yes the marvel version). Whats even cooler is that you can have it fully realized when you have Thor as a persona and Crow has Loki. Just hoping that if they continue the story of the phantom thieves after Strikers that we can see Crow making a return and actually being accepted fully in the phantom thieves.

I don't know if this has been commented upon yet, but I just noticed that in his "Prince" outfit, Akechi summons his Persona with his right hand, whereas in his "Black Mask" outfit, he does so with his left. Quite a neat little detail and a throwback to Akechi playing billiards right-handed, something which Joker comments upon. Akechi tells Joker in his social link that if he beats him whilst he's using his right hand, he'll give it "everything he has." I feel that, going off of Akechi's mindset of using his right hand to "hold back," he's using it in Sae's palace to show how he's still holding back his "true self," yet in the Third Semester, him using his left hand shows how he's no longer holding back.
@@chronogamer2930 They seem to have some pre registered domains based on leaks from the Persona Central site. Most of the leaks are true like Dancing, Q2, Royal and Scramble. This leaves AG, U, M and B, though unsure what kind of games they would be. Knowing Atlus, they might create another game story taking place after Scramble, following Royal more like Arena Ultimax to Golden, though unsure what kind of genre they will implement. They do Arena to cover more on the P3 gen aftermath while enforcing the idea of Persona users still have to fight against the negative aspects of collective human desires in material form. Scramble kind of prove that Shadow events can be facilitated artificially, which is obviously a bad thing. Plus they did new Arcana characters, in which seemingly have a pattern in Royal and Scramble. Surime (Faith) and Sophia (Hope) Arcana are from the Visconti Safroza deck, the theological virtues, even their awakenings plays out the same but for different reasons. Maruki (Councillor/Magician) and Zenkichi (Priest/Hierophant) are adult Persona users in the P5 generation, with some self worth issues within society. Not surprised if there's 1 more girl with Charity as her Arcana in the next game.

It’s honesty my partial belief that some of Akechi’s behavior in third semester during the meta verse portions with his wild nature is still due to himself using Loki send him in his berserk state. I still think he is a devious fighter but I think his higher intensity is due to Loki’s influence.

Personas are manifestations of one's psyche. They don't have any direct or indirect influence on a person's behavior since they are not independent beings with a consciousness of their own: they are the embodiment of the user's personality. Therefore, it's the other way around. It's Akechi's anger that gives birth to Loki and it's chaotic design.

Asterious for example is fully cognizant and independent, and will actively attempt to kill his user if he senses weakness Joker is also shown to be influenced by the various picaro/dlc personas because he takes on some traits of the original user. Wildcards in general seem to operate on different rules, even wildcards that didn't cultivate their bonds like akechi

I like that when in combat in Sae's Palace, Akechi's vicious nature still shines through just a bit. Whereas in the third semester he just gives in to his bloodlust.
Although some may say that it's the vizor which gives his eyes the red tint (Remember, his helmet was somewhat broken after defeating him before the sacrifice)
I am so happy Akechi lived. He was my favourite character and really felt like the final boss. I'm also glad they didn't make him "repent" and rather kept him as the crazed but calculated killer he was.
I love the contrast between fake Akechi and Akedgy, he sounds more knowledgeable and experienced in the final palace as opposed to his facade in Sae's palace.
Interesting to note, when Prince Akechi summons, he puts his right hand on his mask, as opposed to Black Mask Akechi, who touches his mask with his left hand, the dominant hand.

I like how Akechi ended up unleashing his bottled up emotions. I can relate to this so much, I kept my emotions bottled up because of ignorant individuals that made me feel weak. As time flew I became more open and broke that bottle.

Perhaps because I like charismatic people, I find the two Akechi personalities nice. When I first saw him at the TV studio I picked up my disc case and went "ohmygod it's that cute guy finally he appeared please join our team." I play on JP, so soon as I heard the voice, despite me being enamoured with Ryuji at the time for his voice actor, I just dropped everything and fell hard. I got spoiled that he killed Isshiki, so I was wondering how much more he killed and if he'll betray us. His Loki awakening at Shido's palace I found a little too edgy both in ENG and JP, but it was fun anyway and I was really depressed when I couldn't see him for all those months. He appears again and his new portraits looked so much cooler and his blank expression with those eyes just made me think, "he got even better??? how!??!" and he had his whole "I'm sick and tired of Maruki's shit let's get this over with" dialogue and that immaculate voice good god. He did get even better then, but I still rank Detective Prince Akechi really high on my favourite list, the Third Semester only beating him by like one percent. His ikemen levels went higher because of the new portrait being drawn with more angled and straight eyes and eyebrows, which gives off a different personality and the blank stare was just too good man when it looks more tired like that

I immediately realized and freaked out the first time I had him intiate an all-out attack in Sae's Palace P5 cause his exact words were "It will be a massacre" and I was like whoahhhh hold up COOL IT AKECHI you're gonna confirm my theory for me that you are the traitor if you keep saying murderous things like that. Another line that made me think he was the betrayer first time in Sae's palace (P5) was "My skills exceed yours" cause you know the edginess creeps into his voice there and it's just an indicator that he looks down on the shadows and he's confident (cause it's not his first time like he pretends it is) so it made me think how would you know that unless you come here often 👀
Also it didn't help that I caught the pancakes line from Day 1😅😂 After that I was just looking for little nods towards his nature cause I was 99% sure from that one lil line

A little piece of symbolism I always liked about Akechi is his all out attack animation in his prince outfit. The little dance he did before it ended was a nice way to add on to the fact that everything about his detective prince personality was an act, a performance, something meant to draw attention to him while his real motives lay hidden.
Another thing I noticed is right before the all out attack animation, when everyone jumps back Sketchy Akechi does a backflip while Darkechi just jumps backwards. No flair, no showing off.

Final Semester Akechi seems much more genuine than Sae's Case. Even though Akechi use harsh and foul words, it is a relief that he doesn't try to hide his true self.

What I do love is True Akechi is no longer hindered by his forced fake personality and decides to cut loose and be himself and march to the beat of his own drum, albeit he sounds crazy and really enjoying himself. That's the type of guy you want on your team in an intense battle. Into it, gives 0 fs, and dances to his own tune. Pretty sure the other thieves are thinking "He might be crazy, but we love him for it"

I wanted to punch Akechi in the face throughout all of the base game.
I caught on immedietly to the pancakes bit and seeing him with his fake smile playing hero while knowing he was a cold blooded murderer just pissed me off.
Cut to Royal though, and he quickly became my favourite male character. His honest self is basically the group's Vegeta and his new chemistry with everyone is just gold.
I also deeply respect his decision to die free instead of living without free will, and I'm glad he still gets a chance in the true ending.

I just love how joker and crow have that Thor and loki dynamic (yes the marvel version). Whats even cooler is that you can have it fully realized when you have Thor as a persona and Crow has Loki. If Batman taught me anything, Bruce Wayne is pretty much just as much of a mask. So by that logic, both Akechis is what he truly is overall. The third tier persona tells us that much alone.
I don't know if this has been commented upon yet, but I just noticed that in his "Prince" outfit, Akechi summons his Persona with his right hand, whereas in his "Black Mask" outfit, he does so with his left. Quite a neat little detail and a throwback to Akechi playing billiards right-handed, something which Joker comments upon. Akechi tells Joker in his social link that if he beats him whilst he's using his right hand, he'll give it "everything he has." I feel that, going off of Akechi's mindset of using his right hand to "hold back," he's using it in Sae's palace to show how he's still holding back his "true self," yet in the Third Semester, him using his left hand shows how he's no longer holding back.

@@chronogamer2930 They seem to have some pre registered domains based on leaks from the Persona Central site. Most of the leaks are true like Dancing, Q2, Royal and Scramble. This leaves AG, U, M and B, though unsure what kind of games they would be. Knowing Atlus, they might create another game story taking place after Scramble, following Royal more like Arena Ultimax to Golden, though unsure what kind of genre they will implement. They do Arena to cover more on the P3 gen aftermath while enforcing the idea of Persona users still have to fight against the negative aspects of collective human desires in material form. Scramble kind of prove that Shadow events can be facilitated artificially, which is obviously a bad thing.
Plus they did new Arcana characters, in which seemingly have a pattern in Royal and Scramble. Surime (Faith) and Sophia (Hope) Arcana are from the Visconti Safroza deck, the theological virtues, even their awakenings plays out the same but for different reasons. Maruki (Councillor/Magician) and Zenkichi (Priest/Hierophant) are adult Persona users in the P5 generation, with some self worth issues within society. Not surprised if there's 1 more girl with Charity as her Arcana in the next game.

It’s honesty my partial belief that some of Akechi’s behavior in third semester during the meta verse portions with his wild nature is still due to himself using Loki send him in his berserk state. I still think he is a devious fighter but I think his higher intensity is due to Loki’s influence.
Oh shit I never actually thought of that. I just remembered that joker also acts differently depending of certain personas. Like when he uses asterious picaro (probably misspelled it..) he does a chaotic laugh after doing his fire attack and so on. You might be onto something
Personas are manifestations of one's psyche. They don't have any direct or indirect influence on a person's behavior since they are not independent beings with a consciousness of their own: they are the embodiment of the user's personality. Therefore, it's the other way around. It's Akechi's anger that gives birth to Loki and it's chaotic design.

I like that when in combat in Sae's Palace, Akechi's vicious nature still shines through just a bit. Whereas in the third semester he just gives in to his bloodlust.
I love how Crow's eyes in all out attacks are more brown, while Black Mask Akechi's eyes are way redder.
Although some may say that it's the vizor which gives his eyes the red tint (Remember, his helmet was somewhat broken after defeating him before the sacrifice)

I can relate to this so much, I kept my emotions bottled up because of ignorant individuals that made me feel weak. As time flew I became more open and broke that bottle.
Interesting how they've made every party member so relatable, we even get some people relating to Akechi; impressive on their part, and I'm glad you're more open too. Keeping crap locked up doesn't feel great from experience. Just try not to let anything slip about any "delicious pancakes" at least like Akechi did, yeah?

Perhaps because I like charismatic people, I find the two Akechi personalities nice. When I first saw him at the TV studio I picked up my disc case and went "ohmygod it's that cute guy finally he appeared please join our team."
I play on JP, so soon as I heard the voice, despite me being enamoured with Ryuji at the time for his voice actor, I just dropped everything and fell hard. I got spoiled that he killed Isshiki, so I was wondering how much more he killed and if he'll betray us. His Loki awakening at Shido's palace I found a little too edgy both in ENG and JP, but it was fun anyway and I was really depressed when I couldn't see him for all those months. He appears again and his new portraits looked so much cooler and his blank expression with those eyes just made me think, "he got even better??? how!??!" and he had his whole "I'm sick and tired of Maruki's shit let's get this over with" dialogue and that immaculate voice good god. He did get even better then, but I still rank Detective Prince Akechi really high on my favourite list, the Third Semester only beating him by like one percent. His ikemen levels went higher because of the new portrait being drawn with more angled and straight eyes and eyebrows, which gives off a different personality and the blank stare was just too good man when it looks more tired like that
