I love how this does not turn into a lengthy podcast, like so many others do it. Straight to the point, valuable information. And then he is the only one I am following who does not want to sell expensive courses. Guess I really have to buy some merch.
I just discovered this channel and am very impressed with the format and content. I appreciate the concise and well organized presentations on clearly targeted topics. No wasted time, no need to watch at 1.25x or 1.5x speed (as I often do with other UA-cam channels). The episodes are all impressive productions by someone less than half my age. Well done!
Since the 80's, I've been setting my pre-delays and reverb times to tempo related note values. Pre-delays to 1/64 to1/16th and RT's to anywhere between 1/2 to whole note values. At the time I would calculate note values on a programable HP calculator. I just find that reverbs sit better in the mix that way. Back in the 80's many studios did not have more than a couple of reverbs and most consoles didn't have multiple effects busses.
Excellent demo. Reverb can certainly make it sound better, when you dial it in right. Almost always, I do these with reverb: Send to a separate bus Roll off lows and highs as suitable Optional is to Sidechain compress. I send a delay into 2 different reverb types for more variety.
Thank you Kyle for your excellent explanation of the different parts of reverb plugin and what they all do in relation to the overall sound. I love all your videos!
Great video man! So far I don't use any kind of reverb effect of my mixer. I try to get the tone better by checking the right tune of each drum. But I'll surely keep that in mind. If I get sometimes every mic separate recorded I'll try to do it like you demonstrated!
Thanks Kyle. Great video. I use the Relab Development LX-480 plugin. It’s modeled after the hardware version. In the studio, our go-to hardware reverbs are the Bricasti Model 7 or the TC Electronics System 6000. It’s a four engine beast!
I love your videos, they’re calming. Question: is it an industry no-no or frowned upon to use reverb stylistically per instrument using different settings in a mix e.g. plate reverb with hall reverb on two separate instruments? Basically, mixing reverb types stylistically as opposed to objectively recreating a realistic space.
Funny how this video was exclusively about how to use and adjust the computer reverb programs, almost like good old fashioned actual physical knobs, sliders, and switches don't even exist anymore on modern electronics! Lol! Reverb and all of its many subtleties have always been VERY confusing to try and understand to me, so I only use it by "ear", as to what actually sounds good, pleasant, or "cool" to my ears.
Hi i really learn alot of new things from your videos. If its not too much of a trouble , do u think u can make a tutorial on phone daw like bandlab . Thank u so much . - new subscriber -
i dont know where else to contact you, but i have a question: a mixer fader has dB markings so i can adjust it to known values. what if i have to reduce a round aux send knob by 6dB, but without any dB markings except the numbers 0-10 on it?
If the input signals work together (as they should in a good mix), it shouldn’t be a problem. Just pay attention to gain staging so you don’t overload the input with too much signal level.
The first one is called Universal Audio Pure Plate. It’s part of the Spark package. There’s a link in the description. The second reverb is called Universal Audio DreamVerb.
The part re Pre Delay in relation to room size was something I'd not appreciated before, thank you 👍😊
Glad to help, Andrew!

Glad it was valuable! Thanks for the nice comment.

man you just broke this concept down so simple for me in the first seconds of the video thank you man
Glad it was helpful, Ferrari G!
I like the calm way of your presentation. Makes me really listen and understand 👍

Thanks for sharing this tip, Al!
Such a great explanation and demonstration. This channel is amazing. Thanks for sharing
Glad to help, David. Thanks for watching.

Thanks, Ambrose! I’m glad it was helpful.
this should explain why theres always this one track 'connected' with a lot of other track when i watched producer livestream clips.
Yes! This technique can also be used for delay and other effects!
I love your videos! Clean, quick, and well explained. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!

Sounds amazing, TB Player! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this timely post. I happen to be working on my snare sound now.
Glad to help, Jordn! Good luck with the snare sound!
Excellent tutorial as always. Thank you!
Thanks for watching, Dan!

Anything goes! If it sounds good, it is good.
Thanks for watching!
its great but it is necessary to have different decays depending on the sourceand the tempo
Setting the decay to the tempo is a popular technique, but it isn’t necessarily required. Many just set the decay by ear.
Thanks! Once more a great tutorial.
Thanks for watching, Bert!

YOu're right. I use it this way for many years. (On fl studio tho:D)
Thanks for watching!
This made understood reverbs in a whole different dimension
Glad to hear that!

I’m this case, it’s probably best to set the level by ear.
Nice
Thanks for watching!
Does too many sends into one instance of a plug-in mudddy its output by overloading input complexity?
If the input signals work together (as they should in a good mix), it shouldn’t be a problem. Just pay attention to gain staging so you don’t overload the input with too much signal level.
If it does get muddy, try an EQ and roll off the low frequencies.
Question, can a effect be added to the x32 software, put it in the library of effects
What's the name of that reverb please ❤
The first one is called Universal Audio Pure Plate. It’s part of the Spark package. There’s a link in the description.
The second reverb is called Universal Audio DreamVerb.
What is the DAW?
Universal audios daw, I believe
