Excellent Job! I'm about to get my roof done. Unfortunately, the company did my neighbors roof and forgot to put the chimney flash on. Resulting in leaks...this was the second issue. I'm concerned to go with the same company. Listening to your presentation, I'm going to find another roofer to oversee the project.

My dad who is 68 years old is currently getting the roof replaced in our 21 year old house 🏡 built in the year 2000. The cost 💲 will be around $10,250. It is very expensive but fortunately my dad saved up a lot of money 💰 and is able to pay the bill in cash 💵. Our family is really fortunate and because of this I will definitely try to be more grateful and stop 🛑 complaining about my shortcomings.
…and mainly look for an experienced roofing company with good solid positive reviews. Finally check for the warranty for the shingles.

Thanks for another useful video. I am working on my reroofing here in Austin. Should we have the water and ice barrier for the eaves and rakes? Should we have both ice and water barrier and synthetic underlayment together, e.g., synthetic underlayment on top of the ice and water barrier? What I want is an affordable and reliable roof to last for about 30 years.
We recommend having Ice & Water in the Valleys and around penetrations like chimneys. Most homes in Texas don't have ice & water for the eaves and rakes that's more north for homes that get a lot of snow. But you can if you want extra protection. Have both Synthetic underlayment and ice & water. If you google ice & water and look at the images you can see how it meets with the synthetic felt.

I have a very small, easy roof.
The pitch is low, only 1:12
There are only 2 vent pipes, and that's it.
It's really easy to work on.
My family wants to help out with the cost by coming over and removing the old roof, and also putting a new deck down, and also covering with the underlayment.
Basically, they will get it ready for a new roof to be put on.
Then I would hire a roofing company to put the actual shingles on, with all the finishing.
My question is this:
Will I still be able to get a warranty on the roof by the shingle company, and by the roofing company, if they don't do the work under the shingles?
So $300-450 per square includes underlayment and shingles?
What about a tile roof, single story, low pitch roof and no skylights or chimneys, how much can i expect to pay for underlayment (double layer) replacement and new battens?

When it comes to tile roof right now it's a little hard to tell a price. Tile has had supply issues so it depends on the type of tile you want. The best way to give a fair estimate would be for us to come out there take the measurements, see what you want, and talk to our suppliers for material. However a good reference for price on tile roof would be around $1,000 per square. Hope that helps!
@@HHHRoofing No, we're not replacing the tiles. We would reuse our tiles and only replace underlayment and battens i guess.

@@Mickey_Bauer I don't think I can give you a price per square on a specific job like that. Companies are going to have to give their own price for that type of job.
Some companies don't like doing jobs like that, while others do. And for that it's going to depend on a few things.
I would recommend having some companies come out and give you an estimate and walkthrough the process to really get a clear picture on pricing.
@@HHHRoofing that makes sense, resetting tiles is probably not much cheaper than buying new ones because of labor.
