After a few test with both reels the Aldebaran 22 and the Conquest 23 on the same rod I'm getting about the same distance. The rod does makes a major difference!!
@@The_Multi-species_Angler yes, between those two. Are they good for skipping? Or better go with Daiwa ( as I always do for skipping standard bass lures).
@@The_Multi-species_Angler ok, if we exclude the SS air, which Shimano BFS Conquest or 22 Aldebaran BFS is better skipping? Are they capable to skip at all on high brakes?
My Aldebaran still has a resistance feeling. Sometimes it retrieves smooth, other times there is an odd feel. Hoping if I try a Conquest it won't be that way, even though the gears are identical.
Late comment hope you still reply back. How low can the Calcutta bfs cast in stocked combo? What is a comfortable lure range to throw on the calcutta? I like the design and smoothness of it but I like to have the option to cast ultra light lures. Only thing holding me back from getting one is having to upgrade spools and bearings, when I have another reel that can cast 1/64 oz out of the box.
You missed some really good deals from plat japan. Had the silver creek and Gekkabijin each under 230 dollars with shipping. Best choice is to get a slx bfs xg and modify it.
The left-handed model is better for right-hand casting. No switching rod between hands. Very easy (and smart) to get used to. Otherwise lots of wasted motion swapping rod between hands ... 100s of times ... repeatedly. Crank with left hand, fight fish with right; it's nothing new! --> Spinning reels usually come ready for Left-handed use and used as such.
Thanks boss I'm kinda to far going after 30 plus years of switch hand casting and over 40k worth of right hand reels my best bet is to learn to cast with both hands. Here is a video of me doing just that I do cast with both hands depending on the situation ua-cam.com/video/ZXZ6kK9zExg/v-deo.htmlsi=R6bRCdQ2gGUJhckS
@@FiciousCritik so to answer your question hand switching has become second nature and I have tried left handed reels everything is backwards to the standard saying tighty righty lefty loosey. I have more accuracy casting from the right hand and power. I also don't like jaw jacking fish and I know forsure with the rod in my right hand that will happen. But like what 30year edit said why can't ppl do what they want while fishing? Does hand switching lower the bite rate 🤔 do fish see that and say nope not biting the old hand switching goof of a fishermen. Does it hurt you psychically that someone hand switching during a cast. I personally don't care what people do as long as it doesn't effect what I'm doing. 😉
It could be due to the all metal body that the Conquest has versus the composite frame for the Aldebaran. In one of Yamaken's recent streams he was discussing how despite their nearly identical spools and braking systems, the Conquest is more rigid than the Aldebaran and that any flex in a reel frame will affect how freely the spool shaft can rotate. He demonstrated this by completely stopping the Aldebaran spool from free-spinning just by squeezing the reel. He wasn't able to do the same with the Conquest. I doubt any of us are using a deathgrip on our reels maybe the rigid frame helps in casting. Yamaken seems knowledgeable on reels and he's one of the managers for Isuzu Reel and Try-Angle in Japan so it sounds plausible to me.
At first your sound effects when casting really annoyed me. Love the Weather in the corner also the bait !!! After watching many vid's I really love the point and sound effect, !!
Nice idea to keep the lure used in the upper left. Good borrow from the video game aesthetic.
Video games borrowed it from me 🤣 thanks boss 👍
I love the Conques BFS...very smooth reel.
It is!! Have you tried anything smoother?
I feel like im watching a japanese fishing video!! Very nice work!! Awesome rods and reels!

The new Conquest BFS is Top Tier!

Why do you think this reel casts better then Aldebaran as they seem to be made of same components ?
That's what I'm trying to figure out it could be the rods. The rod used for the Aldebaran different guides.
