love this demo, it is so nice as well that is with my machine so I know exactly how to do it. Right foot, right stitch. Now I just need to go and order some of that thread and wait for it to reach me in France. As a slick thread can I just use an embroidery thread ?
Look at all the needle holes that the fusible thread left in the fabric. That I don't like and the blanket stitch does not hide the the needle holes from the prior stitching of the fusible thread.

Why don’t you just glue baste 1/8” inside the appliqué and attach to the fabric then sew?
