  • A ridiculously simple ice cream recipe that is ridiculously delicious! This mango ice cream is done in a blitz (literally!) using only a blender and 3-4 simple ingredients. Trust me, you'll be amazed, as I was, at how good this ice cream is given how easy and quick it is to make! Now every time good sweet mango goes on sale I buy a whole bunch and freeze them just for this occasion! Just one note: mango makes up a very large proportion of this recipe so it's really important that you use good, ripe mango for this! Enjoy!

I made this yesterday. I got my frozen mango chunks from Walmart. 2% Greek yogurt and honey. In fact I ended making two batches. You can add yogurt and honey to taste. I did not add lime. This is a 10 minute task. I let it freeze a little more than an hour and it was perfect. Next I plan on trying peanut butter banana, or chocolate banana peanut butter. Happy eating.

I’ve been making this for years and have learned that half a chopped up frozen banana also adds creaminess instead of all that honey. I use a lot less honey and instead some sweetener like stevia or monk fruit sweetener to lower the sugar level. Another great flavor combo is pineapple, banana and fresh ginger. Delish!
It’s fun to experiment with any fruit combo. I live in rural Pennsylvania and picked wine berries growing along our lane here and combined them with the banana, too.
The thickness of the greek yogurt is so important and it is easy to strain regular yogurt to get the thickness with cheesecloth and a strainer! It’s so difficult to get through Summer restricting ourselves from too much real ice cream and using this is the answer! Cold, creamy, flavorful, healthy, fun , and satisfying!

EPIC ! Paillin not only made an awesome" time line" video, she also provided valid/crucial info that many others miss.
A: The use of honey (or corn syrup) instead of sugar to insure a perfect creaminess(fyi; sugar doesn't melt in a cold mix)
B: Mentioning the URGENCY of keeping everything cold; mixing bowl, freezing tray and, most important, the "mixture",
explaining perfectly how unwanted ice crystal can form if these steps are ignored.
With this sense of excellence, I had no choice but to subscribe in anticipation of more OMG recipes. Thank You ! Daniel

Yes she is an awesome teacher! She gives important tips as she goes like oiling the cup for the honey to easily pour and gives details about the ingredients and equipment to choose. This is left out of most cooking videos in favor of a perfect appearance. Paillin worries less about looking perfect and more on getting the important elements down. She’s awesome and so relatable in a way that’s not put on. Love her!

I’ll reply to your question as I recently gave a demo to a group of ladies on how to make this ice cream and had typed out this recipe. I have increased the amount of mango as it tasted more mango-ey for me. Below are the ingredients and method. I hope your grandchildren will enjoy this mango ice cream recipe.
*MANGO ICE CREAM - 4 INGREDIENTS ONLY*
      *INGREDIENTS*
      1. Greet yogurt - 1/2 cup (128g)
      2. Honey - 1/4 cup (95g)
      3. Lime juice - 1 tbs (adjust to taste)
      4. Mango - 360g. Cut mango into cubes and keep in freezer overnight.
      5. Metal container or tray. Keep container or tray in freezer compartment overnight.
      *METHOD*
      1. Put these ingredients into the glass jar of your blender in the order given below:
      - yogurt
      - honey (make sure honey goes directly on top of yogurt and not stick to wall of blender jar.
      - lime juice
      - frozen mango pieces
2 - Pulse a few times. Use spatula to stir bottom of bender to make sure the frozen mango get distributed to bottom of blender.
3 - When you see all the ingredients begin to mix, begin blending using Speed 1 or 2. 4 - Blend just enough until the mixture looks even. *Do not over blend.*
5 - Pour the mixture into the frozen container or tray and cover it. If there’s no cover, put tray into zip lock bag. Place in freezer overnight.
6 - The next day you have delicious mango ice cream.

*Note:* Bring the tray down from freezer to fridge for 5 mins before you scoop to serve The tropical climate here is average 32C and 5 mins. is good enough for ice cream to thaw a bit.
      ENJOY!

Me too. Watching this video now. Question. what kind of oil shud I use to oil that plastic measuring spoon with that honey and make it easy to slide it out? Can I use grapeseed or extra virgin olive oil? Also, for.blending, can I use a food processor? Wil it cause any problems?

This is awesome!! And for all you people being critical about the word "ice cream", you need to realize that in most places in U.S. and Canada, ice cream is just a term for a frozen dessert. She filmed an awesome video and please try to remember...you don't pay to watch her videos. If there is something you don't like, you don't comment, you just go to another site.

No it isn't...according to the FDA, the word "ice cream" has to meet certain criteria for it to be called so, especially in the US. Otherwise all manufacturers has to use the phrase frozen dairy dessert to describe anything else... Take a look at Breyers and Turkey Hill for comparison.

Keep doing the good work I wish you would make a lot more videos like this amazing I think it's by far the best recipe video especially with you explaining everything so good and I would say since we could see clearly from this video that you understand a little bit about fruit I think you should do a lot more videos about how to pick up fruit what is ripe and what is not

I made the same recipe but substituted ripe peaches. I omitted the lime, because after I tasted it, it didn't seem to need it. It was delicious! I'm making it again for our July 4th BBQ. It's light enough that it makes a good topper for a heavy meal. And if you prep the fruit and pan in advance, it takes just a few minutes to prepare. Just throw a couple of ingredients into the blender, blend, pour, and freeze.
