Depression is more disabling than heart disease. People that struggle with depression are not lazy- it isn't that they won't take care of their yard, they can't. In my youth (pre-arthritis), I could easily work in the yard from sunup to sundown. But in a period of depression, I couldn't sweep a room, take a shower, or really leave the couch. The shame and guilt we feel, as we lay there unable to overcome the lethargy, is tremendous. Thank you for helping Simon, and more importantly, for being understanding and compassionate.
I’m exactly the same, on my good days I feel motivated, exercise, eat well, spend time doing things that I enjoy. Other days when I’m struggling with anxiety and depression, even the most simple tasks like getting out of bed seem like so much effort. People don’t understand the shame and guilt that is also associated with having anxiety and depression. Fills my heart knowing that there are really good people out there helping those in need.
I am the same good days i feel like the worlds at my feet but then the next day i dnt leave my house my bedroom and my poor son doesn't understand and calls me lazy but it's not even that he just doesn't understand one day he will, I can't even clean my bedroom or anything mental health sucks so badly 😢
Thank you Nathan for helping this gentleman out. Not only did you mow his lawn free of charge. But, you also treated him with respect. Sadly, something that he hasn't had much of lately. I hope Simon is feeling a bit better, knowing that there are still people who really do care and want to help him.
That is great you helped him. Depression is awful when you just feel frozen and helpless, then ashamed for not doing enough. I hope he gets some help with his mental health
If anyone can help this gentleman you can. I hope and pray that he does get the mental health support he needs as well. You’re a beautiful soul, thanks for being willing to go the extra mile❣️
Oh my heart... You are truly a gift too good for this world. Thank you for doing what you do and helping those who need it. I hope the universe sees fit to repay you many times over for your kindness. ❤❤❤
What a good kind man you are Nathan helping Simon out with his garden it certainly is a big garden for for someone who is on his know it should have been a smaller garden..well done for doing a great job 👏👍
Thank you for helping him.. !!! and shame shame shame on the council for not understanding and figuring something out before you tell the person your going to evict them.. !!!
Excellent work, yet again! I love that you use a push mower as well. You're using tools that most people already have in their garage making this type of help accessible to anyone who wants to put in the work. To find people like Simon that truly need the help must be motivating for you!
You're such a humble person Nathan. AWESOME yard transformation work, as ALWAYS.🤗 LOADS of God's BLESSINGS to you for helping folks out that need help 🫂💙🙏🏼💙🫂
❤ I just wanted to reach thru my screen and hug this gentleman, tell him everything will be okay. Thankyou Nathan for helping those in need. Sending love and positivity from England 🏴 ❤️
I have battled depression, and survived a suicide attempt. It is extremely tough, but the love of family and true friends got me through to a better place. Sometimes it is just a shoulder to lean on or a simple chat that can mean so much and make such a difference. People can be cruel and judgemental, but others are kind and have empathy. If you read this Simon...keep your chin up and value each day as a gift.
God Bless you, Nathan, for your kindness. You see a need, and by meeting it, you are a blessing to them and make people's lives easier. You're a diamond. Take care now. 😊❤😊
Amazing work Nathan! Your kindness is a window of light that some people need. He seemed so appreciative. U have saved his life. The housing wait times are crazy & blessed u saved him from eviction. God bless
Amazing video mate. Really made me smile and emotional. Would love to meet this guy and be there to support him as I’ve been through what he has been through mentally. Both legends 🙏🏽❤️
This is so sad. Thank God you came to his rescue regarding the lawn. I've been where this gentleman is. Depression is a horrible thing to go through. It's debilitating. No one WANTS to feel like this. It's uncontrolled until you get the right help. It's hard!! It's like a black hole you can't surface through. Thank you so much for helping him. It was probably a step in the right direction for him. Knowing someone, ANYONE, cares. I will be praying for this man, and I hope he gets the help he needs.
My heart broke for Simon. Bless you for helping him. Please follow-up and let us all that he’s getting the help he needs. I would be more than willing to help if you do a go fund me!!! This man touched me deeply ❤️. Hugs Simon if you see this. I completely understand and go through depression at times myself 🥰
My heart goes out to the lovely Simon. I know how hard depression is to deal with so I can relate. If I didn't live the other side of the world, I'd be straight round to help him and befriend him. I will pray he gets the right help. Thank you Nathan for helping this gentleman. Where is the community in all this? Why don't the neighbours check on each other? Shame on all those who pass by and shake their head instead of stepping up and being a "good Samaritan". God bless you Nathan and thank you once again for helping Simon.
Needs to be more people like you Nathan in this world, it would be a much better place, what you have done for this man is truly compassionate and caring, I really hope he gets all the help needed, and shame on the council for putting him in such an awful predicament..... Good on ya Nathan 👏 👌 💯
What a shame he’s let to get into such a state, poor man is obviously not coping. He definitely needs support. Hope he gets it. 😊 Great work Nathan. God bless you and the work you continue to do Does his area have an Age Concern or other service that could look out for him?
Love watching the longer videos! You did so well by Simon and his yards, Nathan, I applaud and commend you. Also fun to see the birds so excited about what’s been uncovered! You’ve got the right mindset and experience on getting Simon the help he needs for his mental health and overall wellbeing. It’s sad that a commission somewhere can do so much to add strife to a person’s life, but not be arsed to go check on an at-risk individual and keep the council property maintained (at the very least).
Let’s understand. A low income person is given a lot of lawn area and probably no tools then expected to keep the landscape up. What kind of stupid logic is that?
Couldn't agree with you more on councils responsibility to keep their area mowed. Indeed who put a man who is ill in a house he couldn't possibly look after without support .. ..you did a good job too.
He definitely is struggling with mental illness. It is no different than having cancer. It is just as devastating. Thank you for being open minded and caring. We all have problems, thank you again for being empathetic
No shame about having depression Simon. You’d be surprised how many of us are in the same boat. Hang in there and work with those that Nathan sends out. On the true shame list #shameFairfieldCouncil for not doing pathways. Council takes the money and seems to cut services 😡
Hi Nathan thank you for your kindness too Simon please let us all know how he gets on and that he gets the care he deserves you did an amazing job and you could clearly see how much this meant too Simon than you
Jesus sent you there!🎉 Thank you for listening to His directions. Simons mind is" at the moment" paralyzed from depression. It doesn't mean that he has been this way all his life or that he will always be. Our prayers, PROPER anti- depressants ( not just axiety killers that knocks him out), a few minutes outdoors in the sun every day and some daily social interactions can and will change things around for this man!❤ ( Unless there also is some kind of underlaying mental disease and /or some drug addiction due to self medicating. These conditions obviously need dealing with professionaly.) If possible and without hurting this man in any way- can you, please, keep us a bit updated?😊

Sometimes, all someone needs is a person to listen to and advocate for them. Thank you for being that person.
Thank you Nathan for helping this gentleman out. Not only did you mow his lawn free of charge. But, you also treated him with respect. Sadly, something that he hasn't had much of lately.
I hope Simon is feeling a bit better, knowing that there are still people who really do care and want to help him.
Helping with the lawn was important, but making sure he is connected to services and has hope is what’s crucial. Great work.
Yes I fully agree!
Great job!!! Kind of you to help someone struggling.. and the gesture at the end was so nice you
Thank you!!
That is great you helped him. Depression is awful when you just feel frozen and helpless, then ashamed for not doing enough. I hope he gets some help with his mental health
How nice to hear Simon laugh! Bless him, and bless you. 🙌
If anyone can help this gentleman you can. I hope and pray that he does get the mental health support he needs as well. You’re a beautiful soul, thanks for being willing to go the extra mile❣️

Great work Nathan. Compassion is the name of the game as we navigate our way through life. May Simon get the ongoing help he requires.
Not every hero wears a cape. Sometimes they wear work boots! Great job the world needs a bit more of this.
What a good kind man you are Nathan helping Simon out with his garden it certainly is a big garden for for someone who is on his know it should have been a smaller garden..well done for doing a great job 👏👍

I love your heart Nathan. Thank you for the video and helping Simon!
That is a really good point about giving such a large lot in this situation. It is ridiculous.
Nathan, you are a VERY kind person. May God Bless you. ❤
Nathan thank you for helping this man and all those you help. I pray he gets the help he needs in all ways.

It was so sad that the man looked so scared . You did a super good job 👏 😊❤
Thanks for helping this man. Great work.

No shame about having depression Simon. You’d be surprised how many of us are in the same boat. Hang in there and work with those that Nathan sends out. On the true shame list #shameFairfieldCouncil for not doing pathways. Council takes the money and seems to cut services 😡
