It helps but your vocabulary will be very odd. Trust me. My child went to the elementary in Germany and I learned from her books and the other mothers.

I enjoy this method of learning. I could learn not by mechanically memorizing things but by listening to a repeated audio.
But sometimes the spelling is outdated.
This is absolutely the best reading exercise for learning German I have ever found. I’m at level A2 in somewhat , a little bit of B1, but I’m not found anything with this good thank you so much for the repetition also.
I really appreciate how you come up with an English translation that more naturally reflects what the German is literally saying when appropriate (without necessarily being a literal translation)
Now I finally understand why English is classified as a Germanic language.

@@giorgiosculofakis5304 Yes, it has lots of loanwords from Greek, French, Latin etc, but linguists still classify it as a West Germanic language.
Nice for more simple phrases. Good for the ones who begin the German journey as a foreign language. Such as me...

My first German "books" were magazines for sewing 😊then cooking books. It was in the Soviet Union. Also my father had a German - Russian dictionary that have remained but my mum had hated German. It had reminded her the period if war

not only is this helping me learn german (i forgot most of what i learned at school except for the very basics), but it's also helping me better my pronunciation, all my life i've been pronouncing some german words so painfully wrong i now see whenever I spoke to a german they barely understood me HAHAHA
